1st chapter, 1st section, 19th sutra –

Asmin nasyacha tadhyom shaasthim!

Swami Gambhirananda: Moreover the scripture teaches the absolute identity of this one with this one

Swami Veereshwarananda: The vedas also teach of its the jeevas becoming on the dawning of knowledge one with this

Swami Shivananda: Moreover it etc., the scripture teaches the joining of this etc., the individual soul with that consisting of bliss when knowledge is attained.

The sacred secret in this sutra is whenever knowledge is gained, it directly leads to the merging of the Jeevatman to Paramatman – the individual self into the cosmic self. Actually this book is a declaration of the powerful truths. This book is kind of a book where all the references are done. For example, you hear any statement you want to find out whether it is true or not you need to refer it – this Brahmasutras is like a unabridged dictionary of the world philosophies. You may say – Oh! we all know individual soul merges into the cosmic soul when knowledge is attained. What is there? NO. Don’t take it for granted. You do not know that is why you still remain as individual soul. When you know then you would have merged and become the cosmic soul.

Too many sacred secrets are embedded in this. 1st thing - the ultimate truth the individual soul merging into the cosmic soul is clearly declared in this sutra. Each Acharya interprets in their own way. See there is a small gap – it says individual soul merges into the cosmic soul – anandamaya.

Everybody speak about this in their own way. One says when you achieve knowledge the advaitis say this, dualists say when God blesses you, visishtadvaitis – when you are capable of receiving god’s blessings and capable of converting it. So each one says in their own way. But the ultimate truth is you – the individual identity, individual soul merges into cosmic soul. This is the basic sacred secret in this sutra. I will give you my own explanation from my experience - the individual soul merges into the cosmic soul the moment it remembers its larger identity. That’s all. I don’t want to bring the word God, I don’t want to bring the word knowledge, I don’t want to bring the word Grace or I don’t want to bring the word converting God’s grace into knowledge. NO. You wake up into the identity of the cosmic soul and merge into it!

For example in the waking state your identity is made of 10 strong things like your profession, your wealth, your name & fame, your identity means what you feel as you. Like this some 10 major concepts intertwined together, spinned together forms your identity. When you are in the dreaming state even if you hit in this 10 point - any one strongly, you just wake up! If you hit any one strongly among this 10, you will just wake up! Remembering your larger identity wakes you up from the lower frequency. It is the sacred secret. Now your largest identity the cosmic soul is made out of some 10 wires, 10 concepts - suddha swayam prakasa, sath, chit, ananda, tejomaya, nithya – these are the – I can say – I will translate self-effulgent, eternal, bliss intelligence, source, cause these are all the 10 different concepts out of which your larger identity is made. If you remember any one of that strongly, you will just wake up! That’s all! Understand, I am repeating it. Now your waking state identity is made out of the idea you have about your wealth. These are some of the strong truths. If you are too strongly feeling about your beauty that will be one stream, If you are too strongly feeling about your profession being a lawyer or engineer or officer that will be one stream, If you are too strongly feeling about your your wealth that will be one stream – all these things intertwined your identity will be made. In the dream state if you remember any one in this 10, any one in this 10, any one identity, any one subject strongly you will just wake up!

Same way you have a largest identity. Largest identity is this waking state, largest identity is this – the cosmic state. That is made out of many truths. Bliss, eternal, life cause, source, these are all I can call as identity. Out of which your cosmic identity is made or largest self is made. In any one of that quality if you understand even one quality and remember it strongly, you will wake up. You can see early morning how you wake up, you need to remember your identity. You need to remember your identity, only then you wake up. Any one quality of your identity if you remember, the dream identity will disappear, it will be sucked into it. it will merge into it. Same way any one of the ananta kalyana guna means 1000s of auspicious qualities, when I say 1000s of auspicious qualities, I mean, the qualities which will just evaporate your identity the moment you remember them into cosmic identity is what I call ananta kalyana guna – all-pervading omni-potent, omni-present, all knowing, always blissful, always present – these all can be considered as one of the ananta kalyana gunas – 1000s of auspicious qualities. The problem is you cannot comprehend any one of these qualities with the mind with which you are living now. When you try to comprehend, take cognizance of these qualities, the mind with which you want to comprehend will just be sucked in. It will just be sucked in! From my experience I can tell you, you neither need to know about God, nor need to know about Brahman, or need to know about knowledge – nothing. The minimum requirement you may need to know is any one of this auspicious quality by remembering which a strong awakening happens in you. The larger identity, the largest identity wakes up and sucks the small identity into it!

Any one auspicious quality which makes you feel joyful or peaceful or graceful or silent or restful -contemplating on it strongly to the level your whole mind grasps it, will just wake you up! It will just wake you up! That is why I was telling it is becoming more & more stronger & stronger - every day’s sutra. But the enlightenment is becoming nearer & nearer. I am feeling Vyaasa is making the conscious explosion in individual as more & more accessible, possible, doable. He is making it alive. Vyasa is becoming more & more alive in every sutra. This sutra can awaken you just by the comprehension and just by understanding it. The thought trend, sacred secret for vaada prativaada, debate - eNdebate for this sutra is what are the identity, ideas we carry as individual which forms your identity and which wakes you up from the dream state the moment you remember. I can tell few example - your name, maybe your age – these are all some of the identities when you remember you just wake up. Some of your qualities I can say ananta kalyana gunas of you when you remember them, you come to this identity. Same way when you remember the ananta kalyana gunas of the cosmic identity you wake up to that! Remembering the cosmic auspicious qualities which just wakes you up, which just wakes you up is direct process through which you are awakened. What all the kalyana gunas which straight away the moment you remember, comprehend, brings grace and restful awareness in you, which can remind the memory of largest identity in you and awaken you is too straight in this sutra – the individual soul merges into the cosmic soul. You can understand many things – enlightenment is assured for every person. There is no discrimination. Don’t worry. He is very clear it is not birth right of one religion or one belief. It is birth right of all the people who had birth. If you had birth, this is your birthright. It is birth right of all religions. Vedic Tradition does not claim that whoever does not follow my religion goes to hell. NO. Whoever claims that others will go to hell are already in hell. I surely do not want to go to a place where these people claim all others go to hell. I surely do not want to go to such a place where these kind of people live even though it is heaven.

Vyasa gives guarantee all individual soul merges into the cosmic soul – it is your birth right. It is an eternal declaration. This book is actually the declarations by cosmos to all the individuals who want to understand the law of the cosmos. It is like constitution of cosmos, constitution of the cosmos. So each one interprets in their own way. Yes. A Vedanti – he says - yes individual soul achieves, merges into the cosmic soul when he receives knowledge. A devotee – he claims individual soul merges into the cosmic soul when god blesses you. A visishtadvaiti he claims an individual soul merges into the cosmic soul when you receive the grace from the God and convert it into knowledge. I tell you individual soul becomes the cosmic soul the moment you remember your cosmic identity. That’s it! I don’t want to bring God, Brahman, grace, sadhana, knowledge. I don’t want to bring anything - too many words. I wanted you to catch the sacred secret straight away, just simple truth straight away!

It is unfortunate you can’t use too many words in great truths. When you use too many words you miss the truth. Invariably from my experience I tell you – experience from crores of my disciples from 1000s of my sessions. When they go out they carry that which is not the essential. Leaving the essential from one year to the other. So I go on restricting myself to the essentials. In ordinary sense of a speaker if you listen to my discourses you will feel it is boring. Because I am hammering the same thing again & again without getting tired for hours. If you listen for last 40 minutes, I am saying the same thing for 40 minutes now – individual soul merges into cosmic soul. Then I will give a pause so that you forget that. Again I will say individual soul merges into cosmic soul. Again I will give a pause so that the mind will go somewhere and again I will say individual soul merges into cosmic soul. This is what I am doing for the past 40 minutes. You think I am giving a lecture. You should watch this discourses once more you will see the fun of me repeating the same thing! But I am repeating the same line. Nothing else. Because the moment I add one sentence you remember than, memorize that and carry that with you. Somehow this junk attracts junk! No that is another one Brahmasutra – Junk attracts junk because your brain is so full of junk and you wait for one junky line! I would have screamed at the top of my voice the sacred secret for one hour. When people go out they do not debate about that. But one small little non-veg joke I crack, that’s all. They don’t forget that non-veg joke at least for the next 10 days. Even in the bathroom they will not forget that joke. Junk attracts, junk repeats junk, junk remembers junk, junk recognizes junk! That is the reason I try my best to avoid junky lines. If I have to avoid junky lines and give only the essence to you then I have to repeat, repeat, repeat. I don’t want to speak just because I have to speak. I want to speak only because I have something to speak. I don’t want to write just because I want to write. I want to write because I have something to write. Same way, live not because you have to live, but only if you have something to live! So individual soul merges into cosmic soul! As per the professional standard, if you repeat one idea second time, they think you are unprofessional. They think you are not prepared and that is why you are repeating the same thing. I wanted all of you to know individual soul merges into cosmic soul. Nothing else is there to be known ☺ so individual soul merges into cosmic soul when you remember the qualities of the cosmic identity. Cosmic identity has 1000s of auspicious qualities and beyond qualities – that is the ultimate truth. But the remembrance of any auspicious quality straight away connects you with that identity and you just wake up!

Now remember any one, any one strong cosmic auspicious quality which clicks with you, with which you directly connect as strongly as possible, as deeply as you can. Like Ramakrishna used to say only when you suffer in the sun, hot sun, you will understand the value of shadow. Only when you suffer with this low identity – anger, frustration, depression, you will understand the value of the cosmic auspicious qualities!

Sit remembering any one strong cosmic quality like bliss, cause, intelligence, eternal, compassion - any one quality strongly. My Blessings to all of you.
