5th Sutra in the 1st chapter

As I said just 2 words – not more than 2 words. Just 2 words! Now we will have to break out head! Just these 2 words! Actually when you are in such a deep Samadhi, you utter as minimum as possible. Sometime you can’t even utter. Yesterday after the Brahma Suras I was just sitting in samadhi all the ashramites were around me. Then one of our devotees had fits and I said I will take care. I am such a person that if something like this happens, I will run. But I did not run. I was in such a deep samadhi I could not even get up. After that late night I realized I did not even tell them why I did not come out. I thought why I did not get up from the seat and go there and tell them. sometime in deep Samadhi, the words become so minimal. It does not come out when it is not required. Actually my deep trust they are devotees they will not mistake even if I don’t come down and go to them. My trust that they trust me took care that extra words did not come. But if there was a doubt that they may mistake that I did not go and heal, then maybe I would have ran even if I was in samadhi to give them confidence that I was healing that person. So when there is deep trust words do not come.

But one of the world’s biggest problems is analyzed just in this one sutra! Usually when I am going to speak on some sutras, I will see those great masters energy landing and preparing the disciples to receive the expression and they themselves expressing themselves through my tongue, through my being and all that. From 2, 3 days I am seeing all those big philosophers landing here. See some enlightened philosophers are landing just to enjoy the Brahmasutras happening. There are some unenlightened philosophers ganas, munis who are evolved beings and not yet enlightened – they are sitting here so that they get the click and get enlightened. Understand whenever you get some valid click, one big engram is relieved. You are free from one big engram. Nyaaya Vyseshika Poorva Mimamsa, Uttara Mimasa – All philosophers are here. The whole ashram is filled with philosophers’ energy for this great happening of Brahma Sutras. Bhaktaas are very auspicious people. Devotees are very auspicious whether they are enlightened or unenlightened.

One young lady of little lose character goes to Vivekananda. Vivekananda with such a deep love & care receives her and initiates into sanyas and gives her promise that not only he initiated her, he will liberate her. As usual these orthodox vedantic sanyasis sitting around him and saw him with suspicious eyes and questioned him what kind of sadhu you are, not only you initiated her you even promised her you will liberate her. What do you mean? He said even if all you said is true, if not me, who else will liberate them? So if I say no to philosophers, who else will say yes to them? ☺

Gambhirananda: the pradhana of the sankhyas is not the cause of the universe because it is not mentioned in the Upanishads which fact is clear from the fact of seeing.

Vishweshananda: On account of thinking being attributed to the first cause by scriptures of pradhana is not the first cause referred by them if pradhana is based on the scriptures.

I don’t know how many of you understood. It is one of the important analysis. One of the great thing of the Brahmasutras is it is analyzing the greatest problems like what is the distance between sun and the moon, moon and the earth and earth and the sun. All these kind of high level things are discussed in the same equal importance is given to the day to day problem like why the rice price is rising. Pleae understand, Brahmasutras is a very paradoxical book where in same sutra – why the distance between sun and moon is this much and why the rice price is rising - both of these are discussed. An extraordinary philosophical discussion which is directly affecting the way you think about you & the life and your very existence.

Here the important problem which is discussed is whether origin is consciousness or matter. Sankhyaas – I can say first human beings who started thinking are saankhyas. First man who started thinking is Kapila, who is the master of Saankhya philosophy. But unfortunately, over course of time, the saankhyas lost the original spirit of Kapila and created little deviated system. Here Vyaasa is supposed to reveal the original truth to the Sankhyaas. See always when Shankara comes, he teaches right Buddhism to Buddhists, when Nagarjuna comes he teaches the right Vedanta to Shankara’s followers. In course of time Buddhists lose the right Buddhism. So Shankara comes to teach the right Buddhism to Buddhists!

Here, the Sankhyas have moved out of Kapila. I wanted all of you to know that we Nithyananda tradition are from the Kapila Sampradaya and are senior than the vedic tradition. The Vedanta Sampradaya is called the Uttara Mimamsa. Before this there is a Poorva Mimamsa. Sankhya is more earlier philosophical system. I can say philosophy is not the right word it can be called philosia because word Darshana can be translated into philosophy. It can be translated as philosia. Darshana means what is seen, in your inner awakening what you experience is Darshana. Each master what he sees, the inner awakening happened in his inner space what he experiences he pens down, transmits as Darshana. So 1st Darshana – oldest thinking, cognition system where the understanding about life, death, beyond life, after life or personal existence, Jeeva means individual self, Ishwara – The ultimate self – God, Jagath the world. In Jagath – 2 part – nature and manmade part – all these understandings and have a better co-existence in a more friendly way. This is the purpose of all darshanaas. All darshanas are created to take you to deeper understandings and flow with life. First darshana is Sankhya. Sankya where the understanding about life, death, beyond life, after life or personal existence are described. Unfortunately, followers of Sankhya philosophy started moving out of Kapila. Whenever the followers move out of the founder, the founder comes back in another form to lead them back to the path. And the followers persecute him in the other form. It is happening for eternity. I am working very sincerely that my commune and my followers should never go through this. Of course one fortunate thing is I am recording everything that I am speaking. So the spirit cannot get lost.

When Christians move out of Christ, some other master happens and he brings the truth to them. I am really working very sincerely that this should not happen to my commune and the followers. Of course, one fortunate thing is whatever I am talking is getting video recorded so losing the spirit is never going to happen. Not only that because I am sitting in the body for long time, the reproduction of spiritually matured people will happen. Unfortunately followers of Kapila moved away from Kapila. So Vyaasa is talking to them. If you notice, these sutras are against Sankhya philosophy.

Very beautifully Krishna says in Gita, among the munis I am the kapila. I am in the stotra. Padmapaada sings about the Vyaasa. Shankaram Shankarachaaryam Keshavam Baadaraayanam sootrabhaashya kritau vande bhagavantau punah punaha - Shankaracharya who is incarnation of Shankara, Vyaasa who is incarnation of Narayana, if both of you are fighting, who is going to win? There was a debate. Vyaasa himself comes down to test the strength of Shankara. Debates starts on BrahmaSutras. Author and commentator are fighter. Vyasa is author, Shankara is commentator and both of them are arguing. Of course nobody can judge. But if I can take the liberty, I will vote for Shankara because the guy has given really the meaning to the sutras. All the one or two uncut parts which Vyaasa has left – I don’t know why, Shankara has polished it. By his commentary, Shankara has made Brahmasutras more valuable. I can say he made it as a pure gold. He made it more user friendly. So both of them are arguing it goes on for 3 days. Poor disciples are sitting without food. Padmapaada suddenly realizes – what is going on? And the old guy is Vyaasa and this young guy is Shankara who has lakshmi in his hand, Saraswathi in his tongue and Devi in his body language. How Shankara will lose? No way! Then Padmapada sings – shankaram Shankarachaaryam Keshavam Baadaraayanam sootrabhaashya kritau vande bhagavantau punah punaha - Shiva himself has come down as Shankaracharya, Vishnu himself has come down as Vyaasa – you are the sutrakara and you are the bhashyakaara – if the man who is writing and man who commenting fight, where it will end? So padmapada falls at the feet of both and says – I bow down to both of you. Immediately Shankara realizes the person sitting in front of him is Vyasa himself and he withdraws the debate. Vyasa says – my son, I have come to test you. Your capacity to express the truth. You are a qualified to speak about this. I give you 16 more years from my life. You live for 16 more years and establish the teaching you are speaking. See the beauty when an honest teacher comes and tests the strength of the student. He blesses him. This is the way our Hinduism was spreading – It was completely spread in a loving way. No sword, no knife used, killing through kindness. A very cunning way. Killing through kindness. Nothing else was used but simple straight forward understanding and analysis.

So Kapila is Krishna’s incarnation. Very beautifully Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita – Among the munis, I am Kapila and Vyasa is also Vishnu’s incarnation. Naturally then Vyasa is attacking Kapila. It is almost like 2 incarnations attacking each other! It cannot be! You need to understand and especially our sanyas sampradaya belongs to Nirvani Akhada Kapila’s tradition and all our practices belongs to Shankara’s tradition. There cannot be a fight between these two. How can there be any fight between Vyasa and Kapila because of both of them are incarnations of Vishnu.

Surely Vyasa is not against Kapila but Vyasa is against the misunderstandings of Kapila’s followers! So one of the important questions whether origin of the existence is consciousness or matter. Saankhya takes the stand - See Kapila took the stand origin of the universe is matter because once you are made to understand whatever you call as universe is from matter, you will renounce that and will not be attracted too much towards it and go towards the ultimate. The idea was given more as a technique than a fact. See when masters teach, you should be very careful whether those ideas were given as a technique or a fact.

When Buddha says again & again you will be born till you are enlightened. When Christ says there is only one birth – both of them have their own reasons. They are not lying. Please understand neither Buddha nor Christ is lying They are not liars. Buddha is talking the fact , truth. Jesus is giving a technique – he is inspiring you, pushing you to achieve the ultimate in this one life and not to postpone. When Buddha says there are multiple lives, he is talking about the truth, the inner science.

So when Kapila says the origin of the universe is matter, he wants you to lose interest over the universe. He does not want you to bother too much about it. But when Vyasa says the origin of the universe is Brahman, existence, consciousness, he means there is no universe, relax in the existence. Because out of universe nothing else other than the existence can come. If you see something else - Then relax. The final message from both is that you relax from the seeing. Nothing else. So to serve the purpose how to put the words.

I can tell you from my experience – universe is neither from matter nor from consciousness because it does not come out, it has never come out. It does not exist. If you think you are seeing something is wrong with your seeing. If you think something is going on in front of you now, something is wrong inside you. If you think something other than you exists, something is wrong inside you. If you are seeing something is going wrong then something is wrong in you.

Sankhya - Kapila says universe comes out of matter don’t bother about it – pradhana – forget about it. Vyasa says origin of universe is existence, universe cannot be other than existence. So stop seeing it as existence. Come back.

I am saying universe is neither from matter nor from consciousness. It is just an illusion. I don’t even want to coin the word illusion then you will have another idea and you may want to attack it. The universe itself does not exist! Oh God! Then what am I seeing? You are not seeing anything! You may think you are. NO. You are not. See in many places I proved my words are more real, more truthful than your words. With that clarity, authority I am telling – you are not seeing. It is not there! Now our mind starts spinning theories – yes, yes what he says is true, but I am seeing, what practice I should do not to see? What practice I should to achieve enlightenment? Come on stop this nonsense of practicing. The moment you started practice you accepted the illusion and delusion exists and now you want to overcome it! Finish it in the 482, don’t go to trial. Snub it in the bud. Don’t think no, no I can take care later on. No. The very acceptance of illusion or the cause creates so many complications which you will never be able to get out! You go on believing so strongly you are seeing while you are dreaming. What happens to the whole scene? It just melts down like as if the whole thing was painted on a canvas, the canvas is rolled and you wake up! Where the rolled canvas goes also you don’t know. When you can accept that transition, that illusion, why can’t you understand this is also an illusion? You may think – no here I make money and put in bank, there it is not there. Here 90 years we can have, there it is not there. Years is a delusion, time is delusion, time is illusion!

The origin of existence is existence! Pradhaana – origin of universe is universe! Some commentators on this sutra are saying origin of universe cannot be matter because Upanishads declare it to be a consciousness because many Upanishads say in the beginning it is consciousness and all that. I wanted you to know it is not only the Upanishads have written it, even if you sit in Upanishad with the master you are not falling into matter, you are falling into life, existence. So that itself proves the base or the origin is not matter. Of course if you sit in Upanishad with the master and fall asleep then you can say your origin is matter. If you sit in Upanishad with the master and that leads to the conscious space, then origin is consciousness. So sit and decide for yourself whether your origin is consciousness or matter. Now we can ask one more thing – alright whether the source of universe is matter or consciousness.

Now we can ask one more thing. Alright whether the source of universe is consciousness or matter, in what way it is for me, what is the direct utility for me? If you understand the origin is consciousness, there will be a huge cognitive shift in you which will actually improve your day to day balance sheet. Other day I was reading a book – can God improve my balance sheet? He can! That is why he is conducting wealth programs! ☺

Understand, relaxing into the truth, the origin is intelligence gives you the tremendous freedom from the feeling you always carry you are not getting justice! Please understand in the whole world, every person who has the mind feels he is not given justice! Don’t think how can you say statement like this every person? I tell you every person. I mean it. I am not exaggerating. I am making it very clear. I am not saying whether your feeling that you are not being given justice can justified by your logic or not that depends upon your logic which can support that argument. But anybody who is with the mind feels you are not given justice.

If you think origin is matter, you will never be able heal the feeling of justice not given to you. You always grudge, grudge, grudge, grumble, suffer. I tell you if you understand that it is independent intelligence is the source, suddenly the healing effect – whatever is happening is justice. Don’t worry. I am telling you especially at this moment – after this whole persecution, I am telling you in my inner space I am completely relaxed because I know the source is intelligence. It is not matter. It is not dead matter which is running on some arithmetic logic or arithmetic automated computer. NO. It is intelligence! So when you know it is intelligence which is source of the universe, origin of your existence, the tremendous healing in your feeling, the tremendous trust to live, the tremendous trust to exist, tremendous joy to be – I tell you that is the greatest thing which can happen to any human being. Joy to be, joy to exist, feeling you are given the worthy justice, your source is an intelligence - It is not a dead matter, chaotic happening. What I am talking is not a kind of a belief or a faith. Again & again & again when you hear it feels like almost like a hypnotized theory. No. Source is matter is a hypnotizing theory. Not Source is consciousness Source is consciousness is an experiential theory. The existential theory. The existential truth is source is consciousness – independent intelligence. Intelligence which is alive, sacred, not understood by ordinary arithmetic logic. Because of that it is secret. It is a alive sacred secret. As the net of the logical arithmetic mind is not able to grasp it – it is like you have a small net with which you are trying to catch fish. Then you use that small net to catch a huge shark. When an incarnation happens it is like that shark. You cannot catch the shark with that small net, not only net it is like a small fishing rod. Not only that when try to catch the shark, when it pulls the rod, the fellow who is holding the rod falls into the ocean along with it! ☺

Just because your logic cannot capture, you cannot say it does not exist. Because your logic cannot capture it is considered as a secret. Origin is intelligence! There is no injustice done to you in body, mind, or relationships, or wealth, or spiritual enlightenment. Understand this truth. Don’t try to understand this truth thinking that after that you will get enlightened. No. understand it now or get lost. Understand now and live it. I am sharing the straight truth. I am not giving you any practice or salary called enlightenment. As I said in Brahma Vidya Sampradaya there is nothing called enlightenment. Brahmasutras has got nothing to do with enlightenment. It has got something to do with enlightening. Every moment it enlightens you. There is no promise that one day you will receive the whole pay cheque. If you think one day you will receive the pay cheque, it will only bounce. Nothing else. So Brahmasutras has nothing to do with enlightenment, it is only enlightening. Open your ears, open your brain and listen to the truth now. Don’t keep your head as an inverted pot, anything poured leaks. Turn it and make it a begging bowl so that you are ready to receive. In the Nirvani Sampradaya they use the skull as a begging bowl to remind themselves that they used their skull to receive knowledge from the master. Use your skull to receive when you are alive! Otherwise somebody else will use it to receive food! Let it receive when it is alive. Don’t wait for your skull to receive when it dies! Basic truth is origin is consciousness! Every moment right justice is given to you – physically mentally, economically, socially, spiritually you are rewarded for your worth. In every step you are rewarded for what to do? When you listen to this truth source is consciousness the tremendous healing, understanding you are given healing lands on you and that understanding directly makes you live enlightenment.

The enlightened sacred secrets from this sutra is 2 -

1. You are not handled by the dead laws. You are handled by a compassionate independent intelligent judge who is not even interested in judging you. Who is interested only in making you grow. That is the first sacred secret. 2. The origin and source is not matter. It is existence which is intelligent. Naturally this sacred secret when it syncs inside you gives the tremendous restful awareness. Now rest in that restful awareness. Sit in Upanishad and see for yourself whether origin of you is matter or life - consciousness. Let you sit and see. I bless you all sitting with us in 674 places, 229 cities in 30 countries!
