Let’s enter into today’s Satsang. See next 3 verse – 35,36, 37 – next 3 verse has to be read together, understood together. So I will start commenting on all the 3 verses together. Because Bhagavan is working on the same engram, on the same pattern through this next 3 verse. In Bhagavad Gita, 2nd chapter, Sankhya Yoga, 35th, 36, 37th verses –

“bhayad ranad uparatam mamsyante tvam maha-rathah yesam ca tvam bahu-mato bhutva yasyasi laghavam”

“avacya-vadams ca bahun vadisyanti tavahitah nindantas tava samarthyam tato duhkhataram nu kim”

“hato va prapsyasi svargam jitva va bhoksyase mahim tasmad uttistha Kaunteya yuddhaya krta-niscayah”

Now let me enter into the verses. Almost Bhagavan is in the mood of concluding. That is why 3 verses he is talking for the same truth, same concept. He is attacking Arjuna’s engram, engraved memory with which he is suffering very strongly.

“bhayad ranad uparatam mamsyante tvam maha-rathah yesam ca tvam bahu-mato bhutva yasyasi laghavam”

The translation - “The great generals will think that you have withdrawn from the battle because you are a coward. You will be looked down upon by those who had thought much of you and your heroism in the past.”

Bhagavan is hitting the engram of Arjuna. Engraved memory, samskara of Arjuna. You need to know about the deeper secrets about samskara. A samskara can be suspended temporarily if the people related are not anymore part of your life. For example, you are having certain fear about somebody. You are having lust engram about somebody. You are having jealousy engram about somebody. You feel jealousy towards somebody, you feel lustful towards somebody, you feel angry towards somebody. If those persons are not seen by you, they are not anymore part of your life, there is no communication between you and them, naturally, temporarily the engram will be suspended. It will become active only when you leave the body. Please understand, 3 thing which can give life to engram. One - acting on the same engram. 2nd - time, place, person related to that engram even when you don’t act that three if it comes back to your life, it can bring your engram back to life. 3rd - during the death, your whole inner space will be boiled. All the engrams will become alive. These are the three moments, three ways life can be infused into engraved memory. Please understand your whole life is nothing but your engrams. You wake up as you are programmed, you brush your teeth as you are programmed, you take bath as you are programmed, you have your food as you are programmed, you do all your day to day activity as you are programmed, you go back to bed as your programmed. Your programming can become alive with three things. As I said if you are acting on the program. For example addiction to alcohol, coffee, smoking – if you are again and again acting on it, that engram will become alive. That will become strong in your life.

Acting on the same memory can strengthen your engram, bring life to your engram. Or the same persons, time, place that can bring life to your engram. For example, you are jealous of somebody, you have lust for somebody, you have anger for somebody - usually you will have all the three with your spouse. That is why that relationship is too strong to be broken or to be lived with ☺ if you have this engrams with somebody, you are not acting upon it. You are just sitting. But that person is crossing your life, your breathing space. Immediately, those engrams in you will become alive. The pattern in you will become alive. Life will be infused into those patterns. 3rd during the leaving the body, all the engrams will become alive. Here, Bhagavan is using the 2nd technique, 2nd secret. First he warned Arjuna – aiy! people will continue to talk about you in a ill way – Kathaishyanthi – I think Arjuna is too much in delusion. Even that Kathaishyanthi is not working. Now Bhagavan is making it more visual. He is describing – aiy all these maharathas. Maharatha means mainly Karna. Karna is the direct enemy of Arjuna. Arjuna cherishes strong enmity, jealous towards Karna. Just the memory of that person can awaken all the engrams related to that person. Bhagavan is trying to bring Karna to the memory of Arjuna saying – aiy, all these days you were always winning Karna because of whom? Bhagavan. It is Bhagavan who cheated, conspired did all cheap things to make Arjuna win just because this fellow is a devotee. What to do? For the sake of devotees you do something and finally you are in trouble! Bhagavan has done everything possible. He has done the highest act of giving enlightenment, to the lowest act of cheating people for the sake of his devotees. Devotion is almost like emotional blackmail to Bhagavan. If you just have that you can get anything you want. That feeling connection is so powerful. I tell you. I can tell you from my experience. I will do anything for the people who have feeling connection for me. Who have feeling connection with me I will do anything. Bhagavan has gone to any, I can say the lowest possible levels. As I was describing the other day, to kill the Jayadratha, he covers the sun. To kill Bheeshma, he brings a Sikhandi in the front. To kill Drona he tells a lie. He creates a beautiful conspiracy and he lies literally and not only that he lies through a proper person who will be trusted. He calls Yudhishtra and says – aiy, everybody trusts you will not lie. You tell what I am saying. Yudhishtra says - no I will not tell a lie. He says – aiy you say 'Ashwathama Hatha Kunjara' a elephant named Ashwathama died, Ashwathama the elephant died. This fellow says – no, no, no. It is a lie. Drona will understand Ashwattama is dead and he will not fight. He will stop fighting. I don’t want to tell a lie. Then Bhagavan says – aiy, technically you will be right. I will kill a elephant named Ashwathama. He catches the elephant, names it Ashwattama and kills it. Now tells Yudhistra - aah come on, you go on and tell. It is technically right but dharmically wrong. The Vyasa describes whatever is said and done it may be technically right but as consciously it is wrong, the Dharmaraja’s chariot always used to be 2 feet above the ground level, it fell by 1 feet down. Yudhishtra lost his grace by that one lie. He has done every cheap possible things for the sake of disciples. Sometimes I feel much more than Bharatn politicians for the sake of disciples. Please understand but till the end he has not done even one small wrong or so call wrong for himself. No! After the war he could have become king. Who is going to ask him? He did not get coronated. All the Pancha Pandavas would have served his feet if he wants. No. That is Krishna! He did not do anything for himself. He has played with all possible tricks, all possible engrams. Now Bhagavan is playing a powerful engram which Arjuna is having. One of the powerful samskara - engraved memory with which Arjuna is suffering is his enmity with Karna. Always Arjuna won the game. Now Krishna is saying – aiy! He will laugh at you. He will say you don’t have strength that is why you ran away. It is like a if your dad wants to make you do something he will always take the reference of your sister or brother. Because that is the closest relationship and naturally you will be suffering with the engram of comparison with your siblings. One of the main reason I feel that I am born engram free is I don’t remember even once having jealousy or fight with my brothers. I had two brothers. One elder, one younger. Never. Not only I am not remembering, even they are not remembering. I actually called both of them and told – aiy, if you remember any incidents write it, pen down for the biography. They are saying we don’t remember we lived with you at all Swamiji! I am telling you honestly even I don’t remember I lived with them at all. See whenever I see the family group photos young age you go to some temple, different places for tour and you take photographs, when I see those photographs I remember the places I visited, but still I am not remember these two fellows accompanying me.

There was no jealousy, there was no fight, there was no engram. Only now when I look back I am surprised. Somebody can live even in the modern days without building up engrams. Arjuna has a strong engrams built about Karna. So Bhagavan is saying – aiy! All of them will tell you are a coward, you ran away from the battle. They will talk about you and your heroism in a bad way. Actually this fellow Bhagavan is going to kill all those maharathas. Whomever he calls as maharathas - Bheeshma, Drona, Karna, Shalya – Shalya is supposed to be a big maharatha, charioteer of Karna. All of them. It is Bhagavan who is going to kill all of them. But this fellow is saying no, no if you don’t fight, they will all talk ill of you. Bhagavan is visually trying to kindle the engrams of Arjuna. He is visually bringing them to scene – aiy! You forgot what Karna about you? Alright you become a sadhu, let’s see what Karna talks about you. You will be able to bear it? Even if you become a sadhu, you are sitting in the forest, some traveller, somebody who is walking in that road, some hunter will come and tell you Karna told Arjuna is a coward. You will keep quiet sitting and meditating no, no, no. It is okay. Om Namaha Shivaya! No – Waw who is the guy, come on! You will pick up the bow and arrow, come. That time you will be all alone and fighting in a foolish way. Till the engram of fighting leaves you can’t stop fighting. So prepare it and do it properly. People ask me many times. Why do you keep so much of rituals, deities? Till the engram of you associating yourself with the body leaves you cannot escape from the engram of you associating God to a deity. If you are trying to escape, it will only end up in a foolish way. Okay you will escape from the stone and metal deities. But when you sit and pray, what will you remember? You will remember vast ocean, or a vast hill or a vast sky. But anything you can conceive with your mind, with your visualization, with your capacity to grasp, survey, measure. It’s again a form. Again technically you are bound. You may try to cheat like Yudhishtra saying 'Ashwathama Hatha Kunjara.' This fellow Krishna he catches a elephant, names it Ashwathama and tells Bheema – aiy, kill it! Bheema kills the elephant. Then he comes and tells – now you are not a liar. Tell 'Ashwathama Hatha Kunjara.' When Dharmaraja tells that Ashwattama the elephant died, during the word elephant, this fellow Krishna blows the conch – boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom! Drona heard – what, what, what? After all a old man. Ashwathama died! Who is telling? Yudhistra! Over! Drona had only one engram putra paasa –the attachment to his son. Everything else has gone. Only if you hit that engram, Drona will become powerless. Bhagavan knows which engram of which person should be touched where to make him powerful or make him powerless. Here Bhagavan is touching the engram of jealousy and enmity between Arjuna and Karna to make Arjuna powerful! There he is touching the engram of attachment between Drona and Ashwattama to make Drona powerless! God! In Bharatn villages we have a game called bomma laata. It is a small, small toys will be made. With their hands, legs, small, small threads will be connected. And the person who is conducting the show, just with the movements of the hands, fingers, he will make those toys move do whatever he wants. And all the stories, puranas, epics history will be taught to the villagers only with this toys. Just like how those toys are controlled and this man who is doing the show it is called puppet show. Man who is doing the show how he controls the puppet and plays with the toys, same way exactly same way here Bhagavan is playing with all of us. Understand in a way we are all puppets! The thread between the toy and the finger is samskara, engram. With the engram thread, he is making us all dance. See what a beautiful way he is playing. Now he is playing with the engram of jealous and anger between Karna and Arjuna. There is a beautiful scene described in Ramayana. Ravana in the war loses all the weapons. He is empty, standing with empty hand. All his 18 hands are empty. Rama says alright its okay. Go now come back tomorrow with all your weapons. Krishna would have said come on, finish him off! But Rama supposed to be very logical and moral. This guy Ravana is thoroughly, thoroughly disturbed, demoralized. This ordinary human being. Ravana never thought human beings are even worthy of his enemies. See he asked Brahma that nobody should kill me. Brahma says – no, I cannot give you that kind of vow. You ask some exemption. I cannot say you will never die. You have some round-about way. Then Ravana thinks, thinks, thinks for 2-3 hours and comes back – aiy! In my life the cheapest and weakest beings I have seen is human beings and monkeys. They can never come to my standard. They can never be any enemy of me and he asked the boon - let human beings and monkeys can be spared. Other than human beings and monkeys nobody should be able to kill me. Brahma says - alright. He gives the boon. Ravana never thought human being and a monkey can even come up to his level, can even think of him as enemy or even he can think of them as enemies. It is such a small low level creatures. You will never feel an ant as enemy. You will think – aiy! I will just brush it, I don’t even need to crush it. Just brush it, it will be dead. Just like Kalanidhi Maran thought a Sanyasi and a cinema actress can they destroy me? This time it is by Sanyasi and a cinema actress! Just like Ravana’s calculated risk failed. So he can’t believe a human being came as a enemy and he is saying go today and come back tomorrow. Sometimes you never even consider somebody as risky people. Can they create some disturbance in your life? But suddenly, that fellow does a big mess. He is there in your life as a real. Ravana was hit with that situation. You know the most funny thing – he did not suffer for anything else. The first suffering came to him was Janaki - Sita will laugh! Because he was going and bragging too much about himself to Sita. Do you know who am I? Do you know who am I? All the Nava Grahas are at my steps, all the Dikpalakas are at my door step, Indra is my door frame, Indrani is a maid for my wife, he was bragging too much about himself to Sita. But Sita did not even bother. She said – aiy! It is okay. Sita is a character I always wanted to talk on Sita and Karna. Extraordinary characters. You cannot present a character so beautifully even in the modern days. No producer, no director, no script writer can project, can present these characters or any character to this depth what Vyasa and Valmiki has done. Oh God! What a description of incidents. Such a consistency and the highest coherence maintained with their internal system and space. Please understand, a character shines when you bring surprises without breaking the main thread of that character. Sita, Sita and Karna are two diamonds described, presented in Ramayana and Maha Bharatha. But unfortunately the suffering was used as a method to polish those two diamonds. That’s the reason I am not talking much about them. If I see from the angle of strength of the character, description of the character, I will say Sita is far, far, far better description, presentation than Rama. Karna is thousand times better description, presentation than Yudhistra or Arjuna or Bheema, anybody except Krishna. See in whole Maha Bharatha, of course nobody can beat Krishna as Bhagavan himself. Then next to Krishna, the best description, presentation, amazing character is Karna. Sita who did not bother about any bragging of Ravana and Sita won’t even smile if she knows Ravana is defeated. Just she knows this is what is going to happen. But the engram Ravana is carrying about Sita. See till the last moment Ravana believed Sita did not like Ravana because he is not a warrior enough, he is not a big guy enough for her. But that is not the reason. She is in love with Rama. Rare marriage, I can say rare marriage on planet earth! After living 13 ½ years together in forest all alone without having any other relationships except brother-in-law, still being in love with husband. Wow! An extraordinary marriage. See if you have some other people around you, at least you can vomit on them, frustration on them and maintain the love affair with husband. But here nobody else except that poor Lakshmana on whom you can’t vomit much because he is so obedient. Sometime utter obedient people, you feel bored! You don’t have any place to express your frustration. She was living practically only with husband and always Lakshmana ensured he lives in out house. Whenever they build a parnasaala for Rama and Sita, Lakshmana ensured he builds another one small separately and he stayed only there. 13 ½ years, please understand, 13 ½ years Rama and Sita had a beautiful life - forest honeymoon! Only the last 6 months, Ravana kidnapping, all this fight and everything. Ravana is not able to understand Sita is in love with Rama! It is not that she doesn’t know that Ravana is a great warrior. She knows. But she is in love with Rama. Her mental set up is totally different. But Ravana because of his lust layer he is not able to read the mind of Sita. The only mistake which Ravana did is not able to understand the mind of Sita. See no person can understand, normal person can understand the extraordinary love that Sita was having for Rama. Anybody will think – aiy, you lived with that fellow for 13 ½ years, what else is left? Come on, now change. A person like Ravana filled with Rajas will naturally expect Sita also can be turned, brain washed. The only mistake Ravana did his lust layer did not let him study the exact engram set up of Sita. So finally when he was coming back from the war field, the only engram he was carrying is Sita will laugh at him. For Arjuna it is Karna will laugh at you. Bhagavan is using that strongest engram

“bhayad ranad uparatam mamsyante tvam maha-rathah yesam ca tvam bahu-mato bhutva yasyasi laghavam”

Even if you don’t act, if certain people place comes in front of your memory, that can give life to your engrams. That is the sacred secret I want you to understand from this verse. I will continue on the next verses in the next next day Dhyana Satsangs. Today immediately after the Satsang we will be having Snapana Thirumanjana end of the Brahmotsava, then the eternal celebrations will start with Nithyotsava Dvajarohana.

With this one verse. You can continue to be connected to eNtv, sit with eNtv and watch the sacred bath done to Venkateshwara. Today the Navarathri celebration ends and Nithyotsava starts. Eternal celebration starts. Sit for few minutes contemplating on this one sacred secret. One important truth. Even while you are not acting, if certain person or place comes into your life or memory, an engram can be awakened. If that person or place is out of your memory or life or mind, the engram is suspended temporarily…the suspended engram can be burnt during the death…and can be burnt. Sit for few minutes with this sacred secret.
