Today Ganesha made out of pearl got materialized. It is a original peal I saw. It is a huge peal when the carving happens the inside gap I was looking into. Not only that, the caving was exactly the way I carve. It is exactly as I carve. Great! So each hand will have its own unique way of cutting. Exactly the cuts are same. The cuts are exactly like my cuts, how I keep the belly, how I keep the trunks, how I keep both the hands. Good. Ganesha is doing something. Yesterday only I said deities will start materializing. First will be Ganesha. Today exactly Ganesha got materialized!

Let us enter into the Bhagavad Gita. Today’s subject in Arjuna Vishada Yoga, 1st chapter 11th verse -

“ayanesu ca sarvesu yatha-bhagam avasthitah bhismam evabhiraksantu bhavantah sarva eva hi”

Now Duryodhana is speaking not only to Drona to the whole group.

“ayanesu ca sarvesu yatha-bhagam avasthitah bhismam evabhiraksantu bhavantah sarva eva hi”

“Stationed in your respective divisions on all fronts all of you must give full protection to Bheeshma.” Duryodhana knew that the only factor that could save him will be protecting the Bheeshma. Only Bheeshma can protect Duryodhana. So he is telling the whole Karuava army, exalting them to support their commander in chief Bheeshma. Bheeshma - let me introduce this unique character. See Maha Bharatha is a book where the personification of each quality appears as one character. Please understand, in your life so many different experiences you go through, so many different parts you carry in your brain. See one part of your brain is knowledge. One part of your brain is compassion, one part of your brain is violence, one part of your brain is cunningness, one part of your brain is speed with discrimination, one part of your brain is speed without discrimination, one part of your brain is the pure silence - if all these parts are awakened you are full bloomed then you are Krishna! Understand when the each part of your brain is actualized to its complete potentiality, it is self-actualization! If all parts, all the non-mechanical parts of your brain is actualized to its full potentiality, it is called self-realization. So each part, non-mechanical part of your brain, actualized in full form becomes one character in Maha Bharatha. Giving, giving is one dimension non-mechanical part of your brain. When that has actualized its full potentiality, when it has reached its peak expression-that character is Karna. Cunningness - that is also a part of your brain, a non-mechanical part of your brain. When that reaches its full actualization that is Sakhuni. Knowledge-the education when that reaches its full actualization-Drona. So each character is a actualization of certain non-mechanical part of your brain. Bheeshma is the actualization of respecting social conditioning. Social norms. Adjusting your life as per the social requirements. This is also one part of your brain. Constantly all your ambitions, all your desires, all your goals, all your ideals, all your ideas, are edited, altered, organized, as per the society’s expectation about you. Society gives certain requirement list to you. You tend to alter all your ideas, ideals, goals as per those requirements. Some time when you are not ready to alter, when it is too much you rebel, you become a revolutionary. Here Bheeshma is the personification of ability to alter your personal ideals and ideas, ambitions to the requirement of society. I am not saying it is right. Please understand I am not saying it is right, and I am not saying it is wrong. This is also one dimension of your non-mechanical parts of your brain. In your brain there is a non-mechanical part which goes on changing, altering, correcting, editing your ideas and ideals as per the requirement of the external society. People who are benefitted by your adjusting, by your alterations, by your acceptance - they call you as a Tyaagi. But I am not saying it is 100% right. Bheeshma is embodiment of social conditioning. He has become such a character he does not even have a pain when he alters his requirements as per the need of the society, when he alters his necessity as per the need to the society. I should introduce Bheeshma to all of you. He is really an enchanting character. For some people he can be unimaginable hero. For some people he can be just a person who has given up everything. I can say except achieving the enlightenment, he has all the auspicious things. Instead of taking the jump from social conditioning to enlightenment, he took the jump in the last moment in the death bed. If he has taken the jump little early, I can say he would have been one more Krishna a 2nd perfect expression in Maha Bharatha. Maybe he sacrificed even his enlightenment to maintain a unique character representing social conditioning. He represents social conditioning. Whatever is expected from you socially - dedication to parents, dedication to the country, dedication to the king, dedication till the end to all the rules & regulations of the war even while the opposite, the enemies are breaking all the rules and regulations. First time Krishna is breaking the rule commit he made – he will not take the weapon and fight - he has picked up a wheel, chariot wheel and trying to kill Bheeshma. Bheeshma says oh God! If you want to kill come on, I am here. He drops all the weapons and he says you are a charioteer as on now in your position, a charioteer is not supposed to take up a weapon and fight especially when the owner is alive and active. But if a charioteer wants to fight I am ready to accept, and, even in the end, nobody was able to defeat him. Nobody was able to defeat him. He made a vow he will not fight with transgenders. He will fight only with men. So very cunningly, sorry to use the word but that is the right word, Krishna brings Sikhandi to the front, the war front. When Bheeshma sees Sikhandi he knows if he does not fight with Sikhandi, he stops sending the arrows, he will be killed! Arjuna is hiding behind Sikhandi and sending the arrows. All the arrows are attacking Bheeshma are from Arjuna because in those days in each arrow the name of the person will be engraved. So each arrow touches him, Bheeshma sees it is Arjuna’s arrows. Means Sikhandi is only in the front, Arjuna is hiding. But he did not even bother. I have taken a vow, I will not fight with transgender, I will fight only with men and he stands by the vow even while dying! I can tell you such a personification of vrata – the will. Whatever society teaches you as good if you collect all those qualities, Bheeshma is the embodiment of all those qualities! Nobody else can be such a perfect expression of social conditioning. Only from the angle of enlightenment I should say Bheeshma is little late. Other than that from any angle if you look at him he is personification of perfection. Just because he missed that one point, I am not able to say he is personification of perfection in everything. Except to that one point I can say he is equivalent to Krishna in everything. In every dimension. You should know his character completely. Here is a guy young, energetic, supposed to be next king. Bheeshma’s father is a King Santanu, his name is Santanu. Bheeshma was supposed to be the next king. He is already a prince. Suddenly one day father comes back, that guy is a womanizer. Comes back very depressed, dejected. Bheeshma asks – “father what happened you are the king of all the 3 worlds, what is the reason for your dejection, depression?” Santanu says – “no I went for hunting, I was hunted and still haunted by a beautiful girl I saw near the forest.” Bheeshma says what is the problem? Marry her, bring her to the palace, let her be your queen. What is the problem? Santanu says no she made a condition knowing that I am a womanizer I may not take care of her kids, she wanted me to promise that her children only will the next king. He says I don’t want that to happen because I already promised to your mother. He had an affair with Ganga and please understand, when I say Ganga don’t think the one on Shiva’s head. The tributary, each river energy was assumed as a feminine God. A tributary to Ganges. One more water energy. That is what is meant by the word Ganga. Don’t think the Ganges which is in the Shiva’s head. So when Ganga gave birth to 8 children, the story says she started killing each one, the moment she gives birth, she will kill them. She will throw them in the water and kill them. She has taken the vow from Santanu if any time Santanu questions any of her actions, she will leave him. But Santanu was not able to tolerate 7 of his children are killed. The moment the 8th one took birth, Santanu goes and says please at least spare this one. The moment Santanu questions, Ganga says alright I will spare this child for you but as per my condition, now I will leave you because you questioned my action. Santanu asked - tell me you are such a wonderful women, why did you kill your own children? Then Ganga she explained ashta vasus the 8 divine spirit have been cursed by a rishi to take human body in the planet earth, all 8 of them came to me and asked for a boon - the moment we take birth, please kill us so that we can go back and be in our divine abode. Because I gave the boon to them, I was killing one by one. But now the 8th one can’t be killed as you questioned my actions. But I will give you one boon, I will bring up this child with all the qualities to be your next king. And you make him as your next king a prince. Santanu accepts and agrees. Then Ganga carries him and trains him for 18 years. It is very symbolic - water training him means water accepting all conditioning. If there is a stone, she takes a turn, if there is a small hill, she stops for it. if there is a low ground, she runs towards it. I can say water is embodiment of social conditioning, it has no individual will. It just completely adjusts based on the external requirements. It is very symbolic, Bheeshma was born to water. See water is a great power but non-assuming. Even though it is a great power, it completely accepts the social conditioning, the external requirements! The exact description of Bheeshma great power, amazing will, but ready to accept all the social conditioning, all the requirements by society. Here is a guy who is brought up specially to be a prince and king. Just because father fell in love with a girl. Actually if Bheeshma keeps quiet, in next 3 days this fellow will fall in love with somebody else! The whole problem would have been solved. You don’t need to worry so much. The womanizer’s love will always be less than 14 days. Because it is based on harmone built up. In 14 days that fellow will naturally fall in love with somebody else and the other person may not put the same condition to marry that person, live with that person, the whole problem would have been solved. But Bheeshma was very particular that his father’s wish should be fulfilled. So he runs. He runs to the forest. He talks to her and he says you may be afraid I may competitor for your son. I take a vow, not only I will not be a competitor for your son, please marry my father. Your son will be the next king. I promise! She is too intelligent. She says alright you will not compete with my son. I understand but your son may try to reclaim kingdom from my grandson. You may not want to become a king you are sacrificing for your father’s sake. But your son, you may get married and your son may say this is my grand father’s kingdom. So he may come as a competition for my grandson. Then he says don’t worry I give you freedom even from that insecurity, I take a vow from this moment, I will be a celibate, I will be a Bramhachari, I will not marry and I give up my youth, I give up my married life for the sake of my father’s marriage! Can you imagine! Here is a son who is ready to give up his life for the sake of father’s love. The moment he takes a vow - here I am declaring I live a celibate life, I take this vow and I will not marry for sake of my father. I give you security, please marry my father, your son and his grandson will be the king. I will not not even create, not only I will not be a competition for your son, I will take care I will not have a next generation so that your generation will not have competition. The moment he declares – you see it is too strong. Young man declaring man who is specially trained with all the arts, characters, qualities to be a prince, to be a king. A character like Bheeshma when he declared this the whole world shook, whole world was shocked! Even the devas, the devatas, the demi gods all of them were shocked and surprised. See a father after becoming old, when he can’t enjoy he giving his wealth everything to next generation is expected. He is trying to live through his next generation. Father giving wealth to his children is nothing but trying to live through the next generation. But here son is giving up his whole life for father. The heaven showers with the glorious title, oh Satyavrata! You are Bheeshma! From that day he was called as Satyavrata the Bheeshma! The title Bheeshma was conferred to him and he takes her in his chariot to the palace and offers as a gift to Santanu. Actually Santanu would have got this girl and offered her to Bheeshma that is the age. But Bheeshma getting the girl and offering to the father Santanu is too much. Not only getting in ordinary way, he is getting her sacrificing his whole life, all his pleasures! He fulfills the first vrata commitment to parents. See the social conditioning I can say in 5 layers – commitment to parents, commitment to Acharya teacher, commitment to nature means the country you are living, the land you are living, commitment to the Ishta Devata, commitment to the Guru – these are the 5 ways society conditions you. These are the 5 things society expects from you. Here by this vow he goes to the extreme sacrifice to fulfill his commitment to the father. It is too much! If you see Bheeshma’s life, he is embodiment of social conditioning. He goes to the extreme to fulfill his commitments. The next his commitment to the country. Practically he dies for Duryodhana even though he knows he is doing something wrong, he is in the wrong side. He dies for Duryodhana! His commitment to the land and the king he proves by sacrificing his life knowingly. He knows he is in the wrong side, he knows Krishna is going to kill him in some way or other, but he goes to the war dies for his commitment to the land. He is commitment to Acharya. Of course so many incidents you can say his commitment to his Acharya. Not only his commitment to his Acharya. See commitment to Acharya has 2 line, 2 layer – 1. Your commitment to your Acharya and your commitment to teach to the next generation. He fulfilled both. In that death bed he is teaching to Yudhishtra how to rule kingdom properly. See before the coronation, before ascending to the throne Yudhistra comes to Bheeshma to take his blessings. At that time, Bheeshma was not dead. He was just retaining life in his body, he was waiting for the right time to leave the body. He was not enlightened. So only during the last moment he was going to become enlightened. So he was waiting for the right moment when to become enlightened and leave the body. So he was getting ready for the right moment. He was waiting for the Uttarayana Punya Kaala means the sun moving in the northern side. Dakshinayana Punya kaala is the sun moving in the southern side. Uttarayana Punya Kaala is the time sun moving in the northern side. So he was waiting for the Uttarayana Punya Kaala usually it is called Makara Sankranthi, it is called Bheeshma Sankranthi also, because Bheeshma left the body at that time, it is called Bheeshma Sankranthi also. So he waiting for the time. So Dharmaraja comes, Yudhistra comes to take his blessings and Bheeshma gives a long lesson how to run a kingdom in a proper way. When it comes to the chapter of women’s right & freedom, Draupadi was not able to control. She started laughing, giggling the way of making fun. Bheeshma just looked and said oh my daughter may I know why are you laughing, why are you giggling, making fun of me? Draupadi says Pitamaha – Oh grandfather! Sorry, but I am not able to control. What happened to all your laws, knowledge your teachings when I was abused, when Duryodhana and Duschadana were pulling my cloth, when they were disrobing me in your court, you were sitting there, what happened to all your teachings which you are giving now to Yudhistra, why did you not open your mouth and say even one or two words to Duryodhana & Duschadana? He says oh my daughter, understand from whoever you eat, from whoever you take your food, you imbibe their quality. One he is king. I can’t tell anything against him. 2nd I could have at least walked out of the court shown that I am not haapy with the whole thing. But when you eat somebody’s food, when you are taken care by somebody, when your basic food is supplied by somebody you imbibe that quality. That is why in Vedic Tradition they say you should eat Guru’s food and wear Guru’s cloth, live in Guru’s infrastructure because you imbibe his quality. Please understand, when a disciple learns in Vedic tradition, he is not expected to pay to the Guru, he is expected to eat Guru’s food. Guru is expected to take care of the student. Because from whoever you get all your maintenance things basic necessity, you imbibe their quality. Naturally when you eat my food you have to do morning akhaada. When you wear my clothes, you have to sit and attend morning satsang, when you are staying with me, you have to sleep only night 10 o clock. Naturally you imbibe all my qualities. The worst thing happened to the tradition of teaching is students started paying to the teacher. When the students have started paying to the teachers, they have started dictating the terms. So it is no more imbibing the quality of the teachers. Anyhow, Bheeshma says I ate Duryodhana’s food. Naturally I have also imbibed his qualities. His blood, his food which was running in my body as blood, stopped my intelligence, it has stopped the functioning of my intelligence that is why I did not even remember all these great truths. Then Draupadi asks now how did you remember? Now how all these things came back? Bheeshma laughs and says oh my daughter don’t you see all the blood I got from Duryodhana, your husband took it away by his arrows. Now all the blood has left my body I don’t have even one drop of Duryodhana’s blood left in my body. I have only bone, bone marrow given by my father and mother. Everything added to me by Duryodhana is taken awy by your husband’s arrows. That is why I regained my knowledge of right & wrong - my knowledge about the neeti, rajaneeti, my knowledge about ruling the kingdom. His commitment to teaching even in the death bed. His commitment to acharya. Please understand when you learn, you commit to teach also. that is why in Sanskrit there is a proverb when you hear from the teacher you learn 1/4th when you do the Vada Prativaada, Khandana Mandana amongst you, amidst you, you learn the second quarter, when you go back to teacher and ask your questions and clarify you learnt the 3rd quarter, when you go out and start teaching to the outsiders, others you learnt the 4th quarter. So commitment to Acharya means commitment to teach. See his in death bed, ten thousand wounds are there all over his body, when Yudhistra comes for blessings he can say just okay take care, carry on, you will be successful, you will rule well and close your eyes and rest. But his commitment to Acharya even in the death bed teaching. So now none of our LBP acharyas can come up with any reason why they cannot go to LBP class. Don’t say oh I have knee pain, remember Bheeshma in death bed he is teaching. Other day one LBP acharya came and said Swamiji in feet I have pain, I can’t go for class. I wanted him to remember Bheeshma – even in death bed teaching - whole body is wounds, this guy is teaching, teaching, teaching. His commitment to Acharya, commitment to the nature - country, commitment to the parents, commitment to the God- Ishta Devata. In death bed knowing Krishna is the guy played the whole drama, brought Sikhandi in the front and gave the strategy planning to Arjuna and literally killed Bheeshma. Bheeshma knows the whole thing. But his commitment to god, he is singing Sahasranama in that time! At that moment Bheeshma is singing Sahasranama! Vishnu Sahasranama was created by Bheeshma in death bed! You will see the sutras, slokas Bheeshma uvachaa – Vishwam Vishnur vashatkaro bhoota bhavya bhavat prabhuhu! He sings the glory of God knowing he killed him! Commitment to God. And commitment to Guru. He knows Krishna is his Guru. Commitment to Krishna. Please understand when Krishna was teaching Bhagavad Gita, in the 18 crore people, only Arjuna and Bheeshma heard, only Arjuna & Bheeshma had the Vishwarupa darshana. So Krishna was Guru and God for Bheeshma. See his commitment. Even if you fire a disciple once verbally, all their commitment disappears. Here is a man who is put to death bed, practically killed by his Guru, but his commitment, unwavering commitment. That is why I am saying Bheeshma personification of social commitment. Maybe I will use the word, better word social commitment than social conditioning from the angle of did not become enlightened in the young age, I have to use the word social conditioning. If I see from the other angle, I have to use the word social commitments. Whether it is right or wrong, he is the man who is the embodiment of social commitments. If you are not enlightened, at least live like Bheeshma. Either live like Krishna or at least live like Bheeshma. If you have not yet become Krishna, become at least Bheeshma otherwise you will be Duryodhana or Sakhuni. Duryodhana is embodiment of irresponsible violence. Sakhuni is embodiment of cunning strategy planning. Karna is embodiment of love, friendliness and compassion Mitratva. Arjuna is embodiment of speed with discrimination, Bheema is embodiment of speed without discrimination. Dharma is embodiment of right and wrong. Nakula is embodiment of eternal silent action - Satva guna. Sahadeva is embodiment of intuition. Bheeshma is embodiment of social commitments. Drona is embodiment of Knowledge. Krishna is embodiment of all this put together and something more! I tell you, you cannot have a person like Vyaasa who can describe each character so perfectly, so well. See each character. From my experience I understood brain has a 32 non-mechanical parts which are not awakened in normal human beings which will be awakened only by sincerity to that line. For example – intuition, if you are constantly sincere to that line, meditating, working, only then that intuition part of the brain which is non-mechanical part of the brain for ordinary human beings awakens. See your sincerity to awaken certain non-mechanical parts of your brain is called tapas! I am re- defining tapas. Karna worked sincerely in the line of friendliness. He took that as his religion. He was ready to bend from anything but not from friendliness and giving. Ready to give his own life for friendliness. He did not live any other great qualities. But his quality of giving and friendliness – God! his enemy, enemie’s father - Arjuna’s father Indra is standing in front of him and begging his kavacha kundala his shield so that Arjuna can kill him in the war! Knowing enemy’s father is standing, asking his kavacha and kundala, Karna says - what more do I need? I can give something even to Devendra – Indra! I can give for Indra, what more do I need? He gives his kavacha kundala his whole life, his very life! Finally, end his great quality of giving, I tell you just because of that one quality, he has become eternal! He became enlightened just because of that one quality because in the last moment this punya he gathered, the merit he gathered by giving, giving, giving comes and stands in front of him protects him as a shield from Arjuna’s arrows. Again Krishna appears there to play his drama and asks Karna give me all the punyas you have acquired by giving gifts. What a personality! Karna gives up even that! He gives all his punya as a gift to Krishna. Of course even if Punya is standing, you will not be able to achieve enlightenment. So Krishna removes even that shield, that veil and gives him enlightenment. That is why when Vyasa records Karna’s demise, he uses a unique word - Karna moksha. He does not use the word Karna Vyadha. He uses the word Duryodhana vyadha, he uses the different different words for all different different people. But for Karna he uses the word Karna moksha. When Karna falls, he uses the word Karna moksha! I think in need to talk on Maha Bharatha! ☺ What a character Vyaasa is painting! What a beautiful words he is using! See for Sisupala he uses the word Sisupa vyadha, for Kamsa he uses the word Kamsa vyadha, for everybody else even for Dharmaraja-Yudhistra, he uses the word Swargarohana he is not using the word Yudhiistra moksha, he uses the word swargarohana - ascending to the heaven, but for Karna he uses the word Karna moksha. Karna is embodiment of giving. Bheeshma is embodiment of social commitment. I will talk on each character when the each characters are introduced in next next sutra, in next next verses, in next next slokas. Here let me stop with introducing Bheeshma. It took one hour for me to introduce Bheeshma! Oh God! Just to introduce Bheeshma it took one hour! He is embodiment of all 5 social commitments the eternal sacrifice. See a guy who doesn’t have any quality, who can’t rule a kingdom, if he gives up a kingdom, it is not a sacrifice, it is escaping. If Bheeshma was ugly and not capable and if he does not marry you can call that as a escape not a sacrifice. But here is a guy who was brought up specially by Ganga with all the arts, she brought him up with all the arts, everything a king need to know. But he gives up, sacrifices the whole just because of father’s love, just because he fell for a girl! Bheeshma is embodiment of social commitments. Here Bheeshma is introduced in the Bhagavad Gita first time by Duryodhana saying only Bheeshma should be protected as a first priority. Wherever all of you may be standing, Bheeshma should be protected as a first priority. This is the command Duryodhana gives for his whole army. Next verse (12th verse) -

“tasya sanjanayan harsam kuru-vrddhah pitamahah simha-nadam vinadyoccaih sankham dadhmau pratapavan”

“tasya sanjanayan harsam kuru-vrddhah pitamahah simha-nadam vinadyoccaih sankham dadhmau pratapavan”

Next verse says then Bheeshma the grand old man of the Kuru dynasty, their glorious grandfather roared as a lion blowing his conch giving Duryodhana joy! You need to understand few words here - grand old man of the kuru dynasty – understand Bheeshma was given a boon by Santanu that he is itcha mrutyu – he can choose his death when he wants. When Santanu was pleased by the sacrifice done by the Bheeshma, Santanu gives him a boon – you will be a itcha mrutyu, you will be able to die when you want. You will have the freedom to die when you want. That is why he lives as long as he wants, even in the war he was not killed. He was immobile. He became immobile. He will not be able to do the fight. He was put in death bed that much only Krishna was able to do. Then Bheeshma waited, waited, waited for the Uttarayana punya kaala to happen so that he can leave the body. I can see the whole scene now how it happened! The early morning after the 18 days of the war, Dharmaraja comes to Bheeshma with 4 brothers the Draupadi and Krishna - receives the teachings goes back to rule the kingdom. Krishna gives once more Vishwarupa Darshana to Bheeshma and keeps him in space and exactly during the Uttarayana Punya Kaala the Bheeshma Sankranthi time relaxes him from the body and Bheeshma becomes enlightened, rests in Krishna! Here the word grand old man is used to mention he is an old man but itcha mrutyu he can die when he wants. That is why he roared like a lion and blew his conch giving Duryodhana tremendous joy & courage. The next verse describes (13th verse) -

“tatah sankhas ca bheryas ca panavanaka-gomukhah sahasaivabhyahanyanta sa sabdas tumulo 'bhavat”

Then conches, bugles, trumpets, drums and horns were all suddenly sounded and the combined sound was tumultuous! The combined sound was something too much – tumulo – unimaginable. When Bheeshma blew his conch in support of Duryodhana the response was tumultuous. On both sides, every warrior on the battle field took out his conch and blew his signature note. I can say the war is officially declared. Officially, the war starts! Next the Vyaasa goes on to describe every step. Every step (14th verse) -

“tatah svetair hayair yukte mahati syandane sthitau madhavah pandavas caiva divyau sankhau pradadhmatuh”

See the fun! The scene goes then seated on a magnificent chariot drawn by white horses both Krishna and Arjuna sounded their divine conches. Please understand first Krishna sounds. See if the Bheeshma is sounding, blowing his conch, his equivalent this side either Dharmaraja should have blown or Arjuna should have blown. But everybody waits. Krishna starts! So very clearly Vyaasa is describing it is war between Kauravas and Krishna not between Kauravas and Paandavas. Arjuna was at the forefront of the Paandava army, but first Krishna blew, Krishna starts. As a response to Bheeshma, Krishna starts the conch. The description continues - next verse 15th verse –

“pancajanyam hrsikeso devadattam dhananjayah paundram dadhmau maha-sankham bhima-karma vrkodarah”

Then Krishna blew his conch called Panchajanya, Arjuna blew his called Devadatta, Bheema called Paundra. Please understand each conch has a unique name and sound, each has a unique signature note. Krishna has taken a vow he will not take any weapon. But conch is not considered as weapon. Even though conch cannot be taken as weapon because it cannot kills people, but by blowing the conch he killed the confidence of people. They are not yet buried, but he killed all of them. Please understand many time people die long before they are buried. Sometime even 40, 50 year before. When your confidence is dead, you are already killed, dead but not yet buried. That’s all. So by blowing his conch, he kills the whole army. The whole army is killed. He kills their confidence. By killing their confidence he killed the whole army. The whole opposite army is killed by Krishna just by panchajanya the conch. In Triplicane he is standing as parthasarathi only with conch. That was the only weapon he carried to the war field. But just with that conch, just with that panchajanya he killed the whole Kaurava’s army’s confidence!

“pancajanyam hrsikeso devadattam dhananjayah paundram dadhmau maha-sankham bhima-karma vrkodarah”

Krishna blew his conch panchajanya and killed his confidence of the whole kaurava’s armay. I can see very clearly Bheeshma blew and gave life to the…krishna killed…kauravas and Duryodhana. The next verse describes the verse beautifully describes how all others have blown their conch. Next three verses are together describing how different conches were blown by different kings and warriors. (16th, 17th, 18th verses) -

“anantavijayam raja kunti-putro yudhisthirah nakulah sahadevas ca sughosa-manipuspakau kasyas ca paramesv-asah sikhandi ca maha-rathah dhrstadyumno viratas ca satyakis caparajitah drupado raupadeyas ca sarvasah prthivi-pate saubhadras ca maha-bahuh sankhan dadhmuh prthak prthak”

King Yudhishtra, the son of Kunti blew his conch the ananta vijaya and Nakula and Sahadeva blew theirs known as Sughosa and Manipuspaka, the excellent archer, the king of kaasi, the great chariot fighter Sikhandi, Drushtadyumna, Virata, and the invincible Saatyaki, Drupada sons of Draupadi, the mighty armed Abhimanyu the son of Subadhra - all of them oh King! blew their own conches. Please understand this is not Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras or Brahma Sutras where even one extra word is not added. No. this is Bhagavad Gita – poetry where the whole scene is described. Vyaasa is using lot of words describing the whole scene. These are all just beautiful description of scene. Actually setting up a stage. So don’t expect me to comment on every word. These are all beautiful descritptions of a scene where you are prepared to receive the next message.

Yudhishtra, the son of Kunti blew his conch the ananta vijaya and Nakula and Sahadeva blew theirs known as Sughosa and Manipuspaka, the excellent archer, the king of kaasi, the great chariot fighter Sikhandi, Drushtadyumna, Virata, and the invincible Saatyaki, Drupada sons of Draupadi, the mighty armed Abhimanyu the son of Subadhra - all of them oh King! blew their own conches. The stage is set, the scene is described. There is some reason why Vyaasa describes all these elaborately in a detailed way. Why he describes we will see tomorrow!
