Q\&A
1. Swami, I hear you speak continuously in your Satsangs about taking up responsibility, but when I try to do it, it somehow feels ugly - like ‘doing love’. On the other hand, I have experienced the joy of really feeling responsible for something. If a feeling of responsibility does not flower naturally in a certain direction, should I force it?
First thing , when you hear me speak and you try to do, if it feels ugly, it means you are not doing it like a Tapas. Understand, whatever you are feeling naturally now, at some time you created it! Now if you have a natural taste for sugar, do you think it came by itself? No. You created it one day. Same way, hatred for chili. All the response you are having, it was created by you. All your responses is either prarabdha or sanchita. It is not swatmaprakasha – means, self-effulgence. You liking or not liking or flowering or not flowering is not (WORDS MISSING HERE)
Whatever you say as happening spontaneously in you is also created at some time in life. Please edit the word ‘naturally flowering’ for anything you have. Understand, I know from where this question is coming. I am answering the source of the question. You say, When I try to do it is somehow is ugly, like ‘doing’ love. Even your so-called flowing love, you learnt it by doing it. Because the responses you feel as natural has been taken up by you long long ago, once upon a time when you were in unawareness, you don’t feel the load of it.
Now I am asking you to take conscious decisions. No, your liking sugar is not good for health, drop that response and start something new. Then you say no, no, it is like forcing… then when you started liking sugar, did it happen spontaneously as an expression of your enlightenment? No. That was picked up long long ago. So whatever you feel as natural in you is nothing but the plastic flower shaking in the wind, showing as if it is alive. So whatever I am asking you to remove, it is not natural flower, it is plastic flower. Remove it. If it is flower, I will not ask you to remove it, I will put it on my head.
Just few words… there is never a thing which will be naturally flowering except enlightenment. So everything else is fake it till you make it. You do not want to destroy your sanchita, you do not want to wake up from your cozy comfortable Kerala boathouse dream. Boathouse cannot enter the ocean, it can only remain in your backwater. You feel cozy, comfortable, then how can you be in the ocean? For being in the ocean, you have to wake up and strengthen yourself. But you don’t want to come out of your cozy comfort. Means, you do not want to take responsibility for your sanchita. All natural flowering will not be a response, all natural flowering is responsibility. If anything other than responsibility is happening in you, understand, it will never be natural. So anything that can make you responsible, just take it up. I will not call it force, I will call it tapas.
I will re-write the question – Swamiji, I hear you speak continuously in your satsangs about taking up responsibility in my own way. But when I try to do it, it somehow feels ugly, like ‘doing love’ on the other hand, I have experienced joy of really feeling responsible… which you never experienced. You only experienced the cozy comfortable Kerala boathouse water-ride, which is not responsibility, which is just flowing with your sanchita karma. If a feeling of responsibility does not flow naturally in a certain direction, make it flower. When the boathouse goes into the ocean, naturally it feels shaky. If it says, can I go back to the backyard, ok go, then you only will be dead. Life is expansion, life is ocean. You are asking, if it does not flower in a certain direction… means, now you know the answer. When you frame the question in right way, you know the answer.
2. Eva Rosalyn is asking, Swamiji, do you ever make mistakes or postpone things? I can’t get at the real difference between you and us. Are you an entirely different species, or just a highly evolved me?
Eva – I feel tremendous sympathy for your ego. If I say I am a highly evolved species, you will say, Then I cannot be like you. If I say I am the highly evolved you, then you will say, Okay then, you also make mistakes, then what is the need of me transforming?
Eva, I can see a huge snake behind your head ready to bite me. See the technical way in which the question is framed! The moment I say, I am a highly evolved you, you will say, Then why should I evolve? Forget it. You were in my space, someday I will be in your space. Then why bother unnecessarily? If I say I am entirely different species, then you will say, Then forget about it. You be where you are, I will be where I am!
This must be from a woman in madhura bhaava. Maatru bhaava, daasa bhaava does not have this problem. Only madhura bhaava will have this complication. The whole problem in Bhagavad Gita is because Arjuna was in sakha bhaava. Even Devi, when she was taught Shiva Sutras by Shiva all the madhura bhaava disappeared!
The whole suffering in Bhagavad Gita is this sakha bhaava. See, sakha bhaava is like a goat - even after cutting the head, it will not die. Madhura bhaava is like a lizard’s tail - even after cutting, it will jump and it will grow again! It is one of the most powerful technically correct logic. See this question, how technically it is asked – Do you ever make mistakes or postpone things? Do you want me to say yes or no? Both ways you want to put me in trouble. I do want to say - in my tremendous hopeless hope that one day all these can transform.. Ramsurat Kumar used to do that. He will collect all the garbage where the whole town gathers and keep it near the temple gate. People will say… (WORDS MISSING HERE) Ramsurat Kumar will ask, why not? When you have the hope of keeping all the unnecessary things and you think it will be useful for you one day…(WORDS MISSING HERE)
Same way only, I have one syndrome called hopeless hope syndrome with which all enlightened masters suffer! That is the only mistake I make. And the only postponing I do is postponing kicking out the wrong people and waiting for them to transform. See, the funny thing is - the moment I say I ….may be one or two things also he gives …….then you can conveniently edit and avoid whatever parts are not nice for you.…(WORDS MISSING HERE)
There is one more line: I cannot get at the real difference between you and me. If you can get at it, then why will there be any difference between you and me? Because you cannot get at it, the difference is there - me and you. The moment you get it, there is no you and me separately. That is the mystery part, mystical part. Eva, you need just one medicine, one stare and look. Get it as early as possible and wake up from this cozy feverish hallucination. Relax.
Today we will directly go for the kriya - a special process to destroy all the negativity in you and around you.
Please sit straight. Close your eyes. Inhale with a powerful chant of pranava – Om... Hold with a powerful chanting of prana – Om... Exhale with a loud powerful chanting of pranava – Om.... Inhale with Omkara loudly, hold with chanting of Omkara silently. Exhale with Omkara loudly. Start the process. Om….
Let the Kundalini energy in you all be intensely awakened. Let the collective negativity in you all be destroyed completely, and all the negativity on planet earth be destroyed completely from the roots!
(meditation)
