Blessings to Ohio Prayag for the Panguni Uthiram celebrations! Blessings to Ohio for completing the 21 day peace meditation at the State capital in Columbus. The group meditated on the State House premises outside the capitol building and also were given permission to meditate inside across from a Senate office. On the last few days, the group was approached by people in the Senate office and the State Patrol that supplies security for the building and grounds. They asked questions about the group and the meditation, and stated that they were impressed by the group's dedication and were so glad to hear that the meditation was for peace. They said they would be interested in hearing more about it. Give them our flyers, invite them to our temple. Blessings to Ohio. Ohio will have eNeffect. Blessings!
Actually all the US state and departments are getting the blessings by allowing the meditation to happen.
Alright, let us start the Satsang.
1. Money is becoming a huge problem in our relationship. I think my boyfriend spends too much. Meanwhile, I've been accused of being "stingy" and "unrealistic." How can we resolve these conflicts and develop a "team strategy" in the area of finance? – Victoria, Oklahoma, USA
Victoria, first thing - I am surprised seeing the question! It used to be always the other way! Men are supposed to be stingy, women are supposed to be spending and men complain. I am very happy the problem is the other way. Second thing ,understand, the whole questions shows the shallowness in your relationship. When you are really in love in a relationship, money becomes useless. This is the scale I am giving you to find out if you are in love or not. Suddenly money will look fake and useless. Suddenly it will not matter to your life anymore. If you feel that, only then you are in love. I am not saying that when you are in love, you will throw all the money in the streets. No. But suddenly your thought is not centered on money anymore. It is centered on the other person. I have seen all my ashramites going through that sweet space. That is one of the best thing that can happen to a human being. You should experience that space at least once in your life, where money just suddenly loses its power over you. I am seeing, hundreds of my Ashramites are ready to donate crores of their wealth without even thinking twice. See, if they are struggling to donate, I know very clearly. To wake up in the morning and coming to Satsang is more of a struggle for them than donating their homes to me! I don’t know in how many countries how many ashramites are ready to donate their homes to me. I don’t accept. It is legally theirs. But what I am saying is - it so easy for them! So casually they are able to give up everything!
When you are in love, I tell you, suddenly money loses its power on you. Victoria, I don’t think you are in love. Maybe he is in love. Maybe it is a convenient arrangement. I always tell a story about a prostitute and a taxi driver. One taxi driver picks up a girl and takes her somewhere and does what he does. When they are leaving, the call girl asks, give me $200, I am a call girl. This fellow gives it, brings her back and asks, give me $200, I am a taxi driver! Maybe you need to re-think, review the relationship you have. Somewhere, it is an arrangement of convenience, not love. There is no relationship, because when you are in love, suddenly the concept of money will not be there for both. I think he is in love with you, but you are not in love with him. Victoria, you need to look little deep.
See, man has only two centric thinking – 1. Money centric, 2. fulfillment centric. When you are in love, the fulfillment center is awakened, it wakes up and it does not let you think about money, about future security. I always tell people, even if you have one question about future security, you are not in love, you have not experienced love. I have told many times to my own Ashramites, even though I don’t accept or take their properties - even if they feel that their property is their future security, then the Guru-disciple relationship has not flowered. Forget about it. You still need to go a long way. Ynderstand this one thing, when your love is awakened, suddenly you thinking becomes fulfillment-based and insecurity gives way.
After that you may struggle with some other patterns. That is secondary. It is not that all the Ashramites who are ready to give their everything to me are immediately liberated or enlightened. No. There are other patterns to break. But when you are in love, when the guru-disciple relationship starts, this giving starts. Even between husband and wife, between boyfriend and girlfriend, when that love flowers, suddenly the concept of future - all that becomes meaningless. That is why there are thousands of decisions you take when you are in love for which you repent later! Whatever decisions you take when you are in love with God or master, you feel happy about it, because you continuously break all other patterns. When you break more and more patterns, this love gets established into your system. That becomes very part of your system. With love, your blood becomes milk.
Understand. This is the exact similie used on Mahavira. Today you should all remember and offer our respects to Mahavira. A great incarnation. Today is his birthday. Today Mahavira incarnated. Today a lot of great things happened. From today, for 42 days, Sri Krishna had the beautiful play of raasa leela, till the amaavaasya of chaitra maasa. There is a beautiful description of Mahavira, that when he became enlightened, his blood become milk. Of course this is a poetic expression symbolizing that he just became Love! Mahavira is a master who I can say lived in ultimate insecurity, not bothered about future or security.
I tell you, when you don’t bother about your future or security, when that fear disappears from your inner space, even your sweat will not smell. There will be a beautiful Ananda Gandha around you – smell of love, smell of bliss, which puts anybody who comes in your breathing space into that same state. It is not only just a Yogic quality - even ordinarily, when you are in love, suddenly the concept of insecurity will disappear, the concept of money will disappear. You will start thinking from fulfillment center.
Victoria, when I read your question I am really afraid that you are not in love. So I wanted you to review the whole thing, the very relationship itself, because any deep strategy in the area of finance will be a arrangement of convenience. See, if you are doing this after spending 50 years together, in the old age you want to retire…. But before even marrying (you are saying he is your boyfriend) if you want to develop a team strategy for finance, then better forget about this relationship. You are not yet in love. Go on continuing with your search. I bless you that you will really fall in love. You have not tasted love. When you taste love, the first thing that happens is, you forget about money. You become fulfillment center. The very insecurity of the future disappears. Even though the other person constantly shows the insecurity to you in front of your eyes, you fanatically do not think about insecurity. That is what exactly happens when I find the right disciple. I will show constant insecurity to them, but the person fanatically resists that insecurity feeling, and will be in constant security! Go on thinking of fulfillment, being fulfillment centric. Then, I say, this is the right person.
Somebody goes to a great incarnation Ramanuja. (Today is the day Ramanuja had a Darshan of Vishnu on Garuda. That is also one more specialty of this day!) So somebody goes to Ramanuja and says, I want to get enlightened, teach me how. Ramanuja asks, have you experienced love in your life even once? That guy says No, no, I am a celibate! I never even have a thought about such things. Ramanuja says, Go and first open the ordinary human love dimension in you, then you can think of enlightenment. When you cannot even open the ordinary human love how can you open the divine love dimension in you?
Today is the day Ramanuja had Darshan of Vishnu, today is the day Mahavira incarnated, today is the day when two of the 3 recorded marriages of Shiva - of course, with the same Devi! - took place. The three marriages – Shiva married Sati Dakshayini, Shiva married Parvata putri Paarvati, and Shiva married Meenakshi. Both Sati’s and Paarvati’s marriage happened today. The marriage with Meenakshi happened on Chaitra Purnima, which we will celebrate next month. In Arunachala temple, today they observe the Shiva and Devi’s marriage festival. Not only Arunachala, all Shiva temples around the world, other than Madurai, perform the marriage today. Whatever Ramanuja said is the truth. When you cannot even fall in ordinary human love, you cannot fall in ultimate divine love. You cannot open that channel. Only with ultimate divine love, the patterns can be broken, patterns can melt, you enter into the pattern-less space where you live from freedom to freedom, where you move from freedom to freedom, where your actions are from freedom to freedom, where your doing is freedom to freedom, and your being is freedom! Victoria, you only think you are in love.
2. We've been married only a short time, but I'm already beginning to feel that I've made a mistake. As a matter of fact, I'm afraid I ended up with the wrong person. What do I do now? – Eric, Australia
Eric, first thing: changing the person is not going to work for you. If you ask this same question to me before the marriage, my answer would have been different. I would have said, alright, escape, this is not the right person for you, escape! But now, as you already committed, I would recommend you trying to change you. Because all your patterns, concepts, ideas – it is only that which makes the other person look wrong. Only your fantasies make the other person look wrong. It is time you understand and alter your patterns. Look into the depths of your being and transform you. Eric, I feel the fear you are having now shows that the love has come down, the love has reduced. Now it is time for you to work and develop that trust which is beyond love and transform yourself. Please understand, when you marry, for the first one year, enjoy the romance. From the second year, use that whole thing for enlightenment. Once the honeymoon is over, now start the process of enlightenment, transforming yourself. When God understood that he cannot be continuously available for everybody, he created a system for everybody to evolve - that is marriage!
So Eric, I will only recommend transformation from your side, rather than changing the person. I might have recommend change if you had asked before marriage. But marriage is such a sacred institution, when you commit, all doors should be closed except the possibility of your transformation. You should not even think of any other doors.
As you may all be aware, today I am going to Tiruvannamalai Arunachala for Pournami Satsang. Today in Arunachala temple also, the Shiva and Devi’s marriage will be happening. Funny thing, today I will have to play the role of Devi’s father! Usually, the community in which I am born and brought up are considered to be Devi’s family, and the Pundits, the Brahmins in the temple, are considered to be Shiva’s family, and they re-enact this whole marriage as a ritual. We are taking care of that temple… so today, you can tune to eNtv. I will make sure that it is live relayed! Today by 8 pm IST, the ritual will start, and around 12 midnight it will end. We will bring temple flagstaff, exchange garlands, walk around, then the Saptapadi homa will happen. It is a beautiful ceremony, you can enjoy. You can tune into eNtv, I will make sure we will do a live relay, and make sure that ceremony is live relayed through eNtv, you can all see. I may not directly involve in those rituals. As a sannyasi, I am not supposed to do that kanyadaana and all that. But I am attending, facilitating the whole thing. I will give the items and will give my nod, that’s all. In Hindu tradition, a sannyasi is not supposed to do any of the dashakarmas. As a sannyaasi, I cannot do it for anybody. But as a guru, I can do it for my disciples. I can do kanyadaana or shraardha or naamakarana. But I will not be able to do for Shiva and Devi. But you can see, we are facilitating the whole ritual.
{Spiritual concepts on Hinduism}
Dashakarma means, the 10 rituals done in Hindu Tradition from birth to death. Before you are born, something called sreemantotsava is done for the mother - initiating the body of the child into the spiritual (WORDS MISSING HERE) for the child to be creating a healthy and blissful bio-memory.
If you want to know more about the dashakarmas, you can go to our Nithyananda Vedic temple’s website - San Jose temple’s website. You can attend those rituals in San Jose Nithyananda Vedic Temple. I think, in our temples, we don’t do the shraardha. I always wanted that this should be done in LA temple, especially in our Ananda Sabha there. In US, there is no Hindu temple which takes up the risk of doing the last rites as per our religion. I think the LA temple should start that service. We should not have the fear of dead body. Get a legal opinion, start advertising that we do last rites per Hindu tradition. If you want, get a priest to do the rituals. But all the rituals should be done for people who left the body. Bring the body to Ananda Sabha. Do all the rituals as per the Vedic tradition, and send the body to crematorium. I think this is one of the very important service we should do. Thousands of Hindus in the US do not receive last rites properly as Hindu tradition. We should do that. We can do in LA and San Jose. You should not keep the body in the main Garbha mandir itself, where the deities are there. Seattle does not have place, I know, but San Jose and LA should do.
I bless you all who are sitting with us at this moment around the world in 1134 places through eNtv, in 19 places through 2 way Video conferencing, in 266 cities, 23countries!
Let you all achieve, experience, live, express, radiate and share and explode the eternal bliss, Nithyananda. Thank you!
