Today’s subject is Devotion dance your way to divinity! I am continuing my series on the sacred sentiments devotion and bhakthi. Today is Karteeka Deepa Brahmotsava Dwajaarohana. The 1st day of the Karteekadeepa Brahmotsava starts in Dhyanapeetam and in Arunachala.

Devotion dance your way to divinity! If you are walking you are not going towards divinity. If you are walking, you are just dragging your body. If you are walking it is always towards graveyard. If you are dancing it is always towards divinity. For any reason if you are dancing you are moving towards divinity. Of course not with drugs or alcohol. Other than that any reason if you are dancing, you are moving towards divinity. No doubt. Even if it is a ordinary reason and you are fulfilled with joy and ecstasy and dancing no doubt you are moving towards divinity.

Ramakrishna says very beautifully there are lot of birds on a tree. If you clap your hands standing below the tree all the birds will fly away. Same way, if you are clapping your hands and dancing all your karmas will fly away. It is just a village example, but I tell you it is the truth. Not only him, few centuries ago Jnana Sambandar says in a tamil verse(quotes a verse) which means – if you sing and dance and worship Arunachala, all the load and suffering in the heart, the karmas in the heart will just run away! Even Bhaagavatam describes Keertana as one of the important way towards enlightenment. One step Bhagavatam goes to extreme way of telling that in Kaliyuga keertana – singing and dancing is the only way to achieve enlightenment.

Narada describes different expressions of devotion in this verse (quotes Sanskrit verse from Narada Bhakthi Sutras). The verse means -

“Hearing about him, singing his praise, remembering him always, attending on him – taking care of him, worshiping him, saluting him, practicing the attitude of servitude towards him, developing loving intimacy with him and surrendering oneself to him!”

Wow! I think narada is giving a complete comprehensive description of devotion. I can say he is trying to give. It is a subject that cannot be corrupted with words. How many have tried to describe it. There are 100s of bhaashyaas (commentaries) on yoga, Vedanta. So many have books have come. If one concept becomes best seller, so many sequel books come after that. For example, after ‘the power of now,’ ‘practicing the power of now’ came, after ‘chicken soup for soul’ all other chicken soups came like ‘chicken soup for grandmother’s soul,’ ‘chicken soup for teenager’s soul,’ ‘chicken soup for mother-in-law’s soul,’ ‘chicken soup for daughter-in-law’s soul’ and what not. Just like the tamil serials in TV, after one concept becomes popular, a series of related concepts come . When a book becomes popular, 100s of books will be written based on the same concept.

But you will be shocked that there is no book on bhakthi after narada’s bhakthi sutras. Because they understand the failure of narada. Not only he nobody can catch Bhakthi. It is like an extraordinary breeze. It is like it comes and churns inside you with extraordinary sweet romantic experience and you cannot describe it. It just settles down in you. And even when it settles down, it settles down like a tremendous wisdom in you. Nobody was able to capture Bhakthi. Even the greatest devotee Narada tried. I can say even here he is trying to describe the different expressions of Bhakthi. The experience itself I don’t think anybody can explain and express.

Repeats the verse from Narada Bhakthi Sutras -

“Hearing about him, singing his praise, remembering him always, attending on him – taking care of him, worshiping him, saluting him, practicing the attitude of servitude towards him, developing loving intimacy with him and surrendering oneself to him!”

Here he describes nine different processes, different expressions to experience Bhakthi. In this nine, Keertanam – singing and dancing is also one. First is remembering – sravanam, 2nd is singing and dancing – Keertanam. In this 9 other than this, all the other 8 is like how breeze comes, gives you extraordinary romantic experience and it will settle down. All the other 8 are not techniques. But the keertanam is a technique. You can practice it to experience Bhakthi. Because it makes your nervous system strong to hold the Bhakthi experience forever & ever & ever! Just today morning one of my disciples was asking in sarva darshan what is the way – how much of weights should we do in the physical exercise and what to do when we do this physical activity. I told her try to retain the maximum physical awareness when doing this physical activity like hata yoga, pranayama. Whatever you remember at that time, that will become your bio memory.

In keeratana, you are already remembering him while singing or dancing. So he becomes you. When I say he it can be god, guru, consciousness or whatever you think is the highest for you – that is what I mean by he.

Keertana – dancing your way to the divine, to the divinity can be a very powerful technique. It just makes your life being. Ramakrishna very beautifully says when there is a keertana is done, he sees some of his disciples don’t dance because of prestige. He will heavily tease them. He will enact and show how these fellows will dance to tunes of their British superiors. He will enact and show how these fellows will run and do what the British superiors ask them to do. To get fruits and entertain the British superiors keeps – the girls around them they will dance. He will say these guys will not dance for Radha or Krishna or Kali’s name. They will dance only for their boss’s keeps ☺

Keertana makes you a light being. I tell you carry a light being. Nothing can touch you. Nothing can touch you. Always carry a light being. Understand I am defining character. Character means a light being. Nothing else is character. Understand nothing else. Each fellow, who want to exploit you gives his own idea about character. I am telling you all ideas about character is lies. Carrying a light being is character. Character can never be defined by smoking or drinking or alcohol. All those are habits. Habit is different. I am not encouraging and saying all those things are right or wrong. I am only saying they have nothing to do with our character. They are habits. Character means carrying a light being. A very light being. The moment I say this, I can remember only one person – my father.

As you know today is Mahaparinirvana day – today is the day of liberating all the souls who left the body after taking initiation and doing NSP. Today we remember and celebrate for all the disciples who left their body after attending NSP after having the nirvikalpa Samadhi deeksha. My father was such a light being, liberating him was not a big job for me. In his whole inner space there was nothing holding him. Carrying a light being is liberation. Only a person carrying a light being will be able to sing and dance. And when ever you can just have some divine music which inspires you. Go on spending some time. At least once a day. At least 2-3 times a day. Whenever you have time just sit and dance. You whole being will become light. Carrying a light being will not allow you to carry negativity. Will not let you carry a brooding mind. A Brooding mind is soul for negativity. I have seen only thing with which disciples fall away from this path is the brooding mind. If you think more than 3 steps, be very clear you need keertana or suicide medicine. Of course your brooding mind itself is suicide.

Sravanam keetanam – Such an extraordinary description – remembering and dancing.

Smaranam mahatma gathe - hearing singing remembering attending on him.

It is really difficult a male can write such a detailed description of bhakthi/ I really suspect Naarada cannot be a male at least in the inner space.

All this other methods are more like expressions. You can’t do anything. You have it or not have it. But keertana – you can practice it. It not only creates the bhakthi experience in you but you can also hold the bhakthi exp on your nervous system. I think I have to end my discourses on the sacred sentiments today. Because it is again & again I am stuck for words and people think I don’t have anything to tell or I don’t know! I am not able to talk not because I don’t have anything to tell – I have too much to tell. When it comes to bhakthi I have too much to tell. Today especially the day of Arunachala the brahmotsava starts. Just that one line – quotes a tamil verse – you can go on expanding & expanding – but I don’t know where to start and I don’t know when I will end. So more than giving expressions and descriptions, I will end with a technique. This whole series of sacred sentiments I will end giving you a solid technique – experience of Nataraaja – keertana – chaitainya. Experience of chaitanya and nataraaja, meera and maanikyavaasagar can happen in you just by singing and dancing in the name of the divine. Sing God or Guru’s name & glory. Dance- use this as a technique I tell you whatever sacred sentiments described will be awakened in you!

I remember when I was doing my parivraajaka, in the road I used to just sing and dance for hours. The ecstasy levels and the joy that gets created – the stability and the days and months that stays in the system is unimaginable. You don’t need anything from the outer world to give you joy. If this sravanam – listening, keertananm - singing and dancing clicks in you it is enough. It not only creates the wave of devotion in you, your nervous system becomes so strong that this wave settles in you and you start experiencing bhakthi.

From tomorrow I am going to start speaking on another dimension of my Avataaric mission. Not only the medicinal aspect but all the kriyas, siddhis and all other dimensions of siddha tradition. I myself learnt siddha very traditionally and formally the dimension of siddha medicine and dimension of creating different siddhis in the human body and in the outer world. And another one imp thing no other tradition in the world can claim – this is a unique thing and contribution of the siddha tradition – awakening the non-mechanical parts of the brain through siddha medicines and herbs. Only this tradition can give you spiritual experience through medicines and herbs. You will be shocked how. Siddhas were able to do. They will give you a set of ideas, great truths and ask you to contemplate and will give you medicines which will help that settle in you nervous system. Same way siddhas were able to give extraordinary powers to people just through the siddha herbs. Understand there are a few things like

Mani which means reading the great truths through extraordinary powers

Mantra - practicing techniques which will give you extraordinary powers

Aushada - gaining extraordinary powers through medicine

Ayurveda can only cure and bring you back to health.

But siddha can give you extraordinary power to body and mind through medicines.

From tomorrow I will start revealing the great truths of siddha tradition. I think this is going to be one of the greatest contribution and another dimension of my avataaric mission. I will revive siddha tradition!

Today, I end the series of sacred sentiments – giving one of the powerful technique – listen to the music sounds, glory and praise of God or Guru who creates devotion, who stimulates devotion in your heart. And dance wildly, enjoy the music using your whole body – that is what I call keeratana. At least 21 minutes do this every day. You will carry a light being which is soaked in devotion. All the sacred sentiments will be constantly expressed in your system.

I bless you all that you experience keeratana and expand and radiate enlightenment. Let you all achieve experience live and express and radiate the eternal bliss. Thank you!
