First I wanted to share with you all an important thing before getting into this subject. For past life, about past life I was doing some research and got tones of researches, evidences. And about DNA I did some research for evidences, discoveries in the modern day and the scriptures I had lot on both sides. Same way I started some scientific research in the line of bhakti in the western world. Please understand it is such a sad thing, not a single reference I could get. I have a brahmacharini to do research. Apart from that, I also did on my own. I could not find a single modern day research, study done on bhakti. There are tones on prayer. Understand bhakti and prayer different. They are completely different things. How prayer heals you body, cancer cells, skin disorders. But prayer is not bhakti, not devotion. Too big different the root of bhakti starts with our concept of god and origin of universe. Root of prayer starts with western religions concept of god and origin of universe.

Understand in the western religions, the origin of universe is god’s will. Because of that whole universe happened, it means some part created will, some part obeyed and it happened. Please understand in vedic tradition it is not that way. We are very clear the consciousness decided to expand and enjoy itself. It is like if you are 100 kg weight. The whole 100 kg decides something. It is not like just the brain which is few kg decides and whole thing follows, obeys, NO. In vedic tradition, if you are 100 kg, the whole 100 kg decides. So the consciousness consciously decides to become life or radiate itself to become many to enjoy itself consciously. I think understanding the origin of universe will make you completely understand the difference between prayer and bhakti.

In west – one part decides and then the whole is created. Of course western science still maintains that life happened as accident on universe. That is why they go on repenting for life. If you believe it is an accident and you think you are pushed here, then naturally you will feel as if in hell. Then how m any air conditioners you put, how many gardens you try to create – I saw in dubai they put lot of air conditioners and gardens all over the place but it is at the end a desert only! Same way, even in hell you can decorate it with gardens, flowers, make it cool, but it will still remain hell.

So your understanding about the origin of cosmos plays a major role in your attitude towards the ultimate reality. Understand these 3 things -

1. In the western science still here are some scientists holding on to the concept life happens as an accident. NO. 2. Western religion holds on to the concept somebody willed and all other things obeyed that will and universe happens. 3. But in vedic tradition, we are very clear that consciousness decided to consciously expand and enjoy itself just out of consciousness and independent intelligence. In our vedic tradition, it is not that the brain decides and whole body follows. NO. Every molecule, atom, cell, part is independently intelligent. That is why our siddha science is so successful in healing diseases which allopathy cannot. Because the basic belief is every cell, atom, molecule is independently intelligent. Anything happens out of whole. That is why beautifully Upanishad describes – “Poorna madah poornamidam poornaat poornamudchyathe poornasya poorna maadaaya poornameva vasishyathe” means - “Out of whole the whole comes out, even when the whole comes out of the whole, the whole remains the whole!” If somebody commands, and somebody obeys how can the commander remain the same when the command has been executed? NO.

The very concept of origin of god and universe is different in west religion. That is why prayer and bhakti is totally different. Prayer is a cheap, 3rd rate depressed, ugly, dirty minds attitude expressed in deep agony towards the origin of the universe! Really! Bhakti is a flower! With a clear understanding. I have a very beautiful thing to share with you.

This is from Narada bhakti sutras. The 52nd verse expresses about bhakti qotes –

“Mookas vadhanam” which means -

“The experience of joy which a dumb man has when he tastes something sweet.

It is a flower! Very beautifully Bhagavatakaara Sukha Deva (he recited and shared with the world vyasa wrote. First he recited to parikshit and rishis from naimishaaranya hear it) the rishis question sukha bhrahma. They ask him – “The gopikas had a deep love romance very sweet experience and attitude with Krishna. You call them as great devotees. But all the women who are serving sisupala you call them as prostitutes. What do you mean? Are you not biased? Are you not treating them differently?”

Sukha brahma says – “love and feeling connection, joy, madhura bhava is established on the understanding that Krishna is ultimate.” Jnana varishta bhakti – the bhakti that flowers on deep understanding. Bhakti has a deep root on the understanding of the origin of the universe. You just know this whole thing is consciousness and you celebrate the very existence of consciousness.

Prayer is totally different. In prayer, it is like there is somebody big boss and who commanded and everything happened. There is some calamity and if you want to alter, reach the big boss he may use his veeto power and alter it. In the Ganges civilization, even politics is based on spirituality! Understand, in western civilization, even religion is based on political understanding. See the whole thing. Like there is a king, there is a problem, you go to king and he corrects it. I have deep sympathy for the brain which created concept of prayer. Maybe this was the concept during growth of the brain. A fully developed brain cannot perceive religion with the angle of politics. Unfortunately, this same idea tries to get replicated into the religion. No. understand. I tell you the religion of fully developed brain is the religion which came out of Ganges civilization. When the brain is fully developed, you will realize it is not separate commanding. It is just center of synchronicity. It is not commander. Center of synchronicity means a consciousness which by its presence created a beautiful synchronicity. The whole thing is synchronized presence. Devotion is diving into this synchronicity. Prayer is dirty, dubious, depressed mind filled with agony to the creation.

I feel bad and sympathetic to the western mind for unable to und and get specimen on bhakti to do some research and show it to the world. I was researching for hours in Google. I found zero results. All study is there is only on prayer.

Devotion, bhakti – please understand all sacred sentiments is oozing out from the centre of the synchronicity. Not from the agony towards the origin. NO. From the centre of the synchronicity. Jnana varishta bhakti – bhakti which blossoms with a clear understanding about origin or god, cosmos and us. Established in the basic clarity of who we are and what is all around us and what is the source of both. Sacred sentiments is sacred because it is out of understanding. Any emotional ripple happens in you out of misunderstanding is sentiment. Any emotional ripple happens in you out of understanding its sacred sentiment. If you think your father is going to be with you forever and cry for his sake, it is sentiment means out of misunderstanding. If you think your son is going to be with you forever and cry for his sake it is sentiment means it is sentiment out of misunderstanding. Especially your doctor ☺ it is out of misunderstanding sentiment.

If you think you are the centre of the synchronisity, center of the cosmos and have some sentiment towards it, it is sacred because it is out of und. Und, Any emotional ripple happens in you out of und it is sacred sentiment. Your und about you, world, god, origin of the universe – again I come back to this 4 items – god, nature, human society and you. These are the 4 major components. Right understanding about this god, nature, human society and you and relating these god, nature, human society and you. Relationship of god, nature, human society and you. Any right understanding of god, nature, human society and you and relationship between god, nature, human society and you leads to sacred sentiment. Any misunderstanding of god, nature, human society and you or relationship between god, nature, human society and you, the emotional ripple created about god, nature, human society and you and relationship between god, nature, human society and you is sentiment.

Any emotional ripple happens in you with the right understanding of these 4 – god, humanity, nature and self and between these 4, relation between these 4 – relationship of god to nature, nature to humanity, humanity with you, relationship of you to god, you to nature, you to human society - any emotional ripple which comes out of any of these right understandings is sacred sentiment. If you have emotional ripple with regard to this out of wrong understandings, it is sentiment.

Bhakti is falling in tune with the center of the synchronicity. Prayer means begging, cajoling, trying to bribe whom you think as commander. Unfortunately, I really, really, really want to tell people who think there is some place called heaven, kailash, vaikunta and somebody is sitting, standing or lying there – if you think it exists you will really, really be cheated when you go there or IF you can go there! There is no will or willed, commander or commanded. The origin enjoys itself out of its own independent intelligence. Very beautifully Ramana Maharshi describes the paraa bhakti in tamil (recites a verse) which means -

Strength of the bhaava - with that going beyond the bhaava. See first we may develop a feeling connection with the deities. In the bhaava you see Shiva is there, Devi is there. With the strong bhaava you experience those deities. With that strong strength, going beyond the bhaavas and being in the sat bhaava which is being in the truth. The truth is there is no commanded and commander. There is no bhagavan and bhakta. When bhagavan and bhakta merges then, that what happens is bhakti! In my experience, I have always seen only when the right understanding clicks, something starts bubbling and gushing in your heart, that is what is called bhakti. Oh god! I was wasting my time so much with this foolishness. When something great understanding happens in you, your past just withers away from your system. It is like a cancer which just dries and drops off you. How you feel oh god I was unnecessarily supporting this. Now I am relieved. Out of that relief something gushes out of your heart – that is what I call bhakti.

What a clear understand about devotion! With this clear understanding, Ramana Maharshi says very clearly with the strength of bhaava when you go beyond bhaava and be in the sat bhaava – the ultimate reality, that is paraa bhakti.

With this feeling when he says other verses on Arunachala it is madhura bhaava! From that high understanding when this emotional ripple happens it is sacred sentiment. So the base for bhakti is non-suffering. Because any suffering you have means the understanding has not yet happened in you. That is why I am afraid of people who show their devotion to me and still have suffering in them. Very beautifully maanikyavaasagar says – I am not afraid of snake in snake hole, etc. I am afraid of people who don’t apply vibhudhi, sacred ash on their face. Same way I can say I am not afraid of media mafia, dirty politicians who are going after swamis, or even people who are trying to frame me. I am afraid of people who show devotion and still have suffering inside them. Because their devotion is not out of right understanding. Any time sacred sentiment can become sentiment. When sacred sentiment becomes sentiment, that fellow is cunning, dangerous. Much worse than a snake. I really feel bad for so many ex-disciples. Only trouble is sacred sentiment became sentiment in them. The understanding before it became complete and mature became misunderstanding. They missed it!

So, all you need to do is first thing heal your suffering means come to the right understanding. With right understanding any bubbling, emotional ripple happens in you will be Sacred Sentiment. Actually Ramana Maharshi is treating Arunachala so differently in his sacred sentiment! He says in a verse (quotes the tamil verse) which means –

For whose sake you took me over? You snatched me? (like how kings used to raid kingdoms, enter and take or snatch girls, take them with them for their pleasure) now if you keep me at distance, the whole world will abuse you! He is practically threatening Arunachala but this is a Sacred Sentiment because it is a clear understanding. The non-suffering foundation means the right understanding – to find out if you have right understanding or not the scale is non-suffering. If there is a non-suffering base then any emotional ripple happens in you is Sacred Sentiment. Then you are aandaal, meera, ramana.

If you have suffering, even your devotion I am afraid. Go to some other guru. A non-suffering base that is foundation means the right understandings have been clicked. Right understanding is the steel pillar on which the non-suffering beam, foundation sits. Anything built on that is temple. I will reside there! But if there is a suffering, even if a palace is built on it, the divine will not reside in it. For Sacred Sentiment to happen in you, the bhakti, devotion has to happen in you, the 1st step for that is non-suffering. Iron out your life – either fulfill all your desires or reduce your desires. Either understand all the 4 - god, nature, human society and you or be clear you can’t understand them and forget about it. Either have a complete right understanding which does not give you suffering or understand you can’t understand and escape from it – this again does not give you suffering. Non-suffering, no suffering is the base on which the sacred sentiment can happen in your system.

From tomorrow I will express deeper & deeper dimensions of sacred sentiments and different aspects of Sacred Sentiments. This is the base. The bhakti is the base and out of it so many different sacred sentiments expresses.

My Blessings to all of you! Let you all experience Sacred Sentiments. Actually in the sacred sentiment if you move one letter from ‘sacred,’ if you replace or switch over the letters ‘a’ & ‘c’, it becomes ‘scared!’ One small missing from sacred can make it a scared sentiment. That is what happened with many ex-disciples. The ‘a’ and ‘c’ got replaced. It just jumped over. If the agony is cured it is sacred. Spiritual agony cured is sacred. If the cure does not happen, agony steps away. Some misunderstanding, some confusion. Even the spiritual confusion leads to agony. Just a simple confusion the sacred sentiment can become a scared sentiment. Don’t allow that. Suffering is responsible for that sacred to become scared because the base is not proper. A non-suffering is the base for sacred sentiments and bhakti to flower in you.
