“Devotion the very life of devotees!”
Devotion the very life of devotees! If something else is part of your life relax you are not a devotee. If you think you are a devotee be very clear devotion should be your life, very breathing, very core. Not just an idea but the very core. Understand, devotion can be an idea in your brain or just a superficial emotionalism or sentiment. But I can tell you. unless it becomes your breath, your prana, your life force, you cannot call yourself as devotee.
Devotion, sacred sentiment is a direct method, direct way to liberation, enlightenment and intense experience of the ultimate! I think whenever I am trying to talk about devotion, I am struck for words because this is an experience that cannot be shared through words – melting of the heart, melting of the melting of the backbone, melting of the very system, of the very source into the source ☺ I dedicate this day to allt he devotees who stood by me just because of their devotion. Not because of their social expectations or other reasons. Millions stood by me throughout this scandal with their devotion and melted heart.
Devotion is such that even once if your core is touched, it cannot leave you. it just transforms and pulls you back. Ramakrishna says beautifully in Brindavan they throw little avin mixed with rice to peacocks so that they can dance. The next day the peacocks are ready sharp on time to taste it again. Same way with devotion you will be here every morning by 7.30 every morning.
I have experienced this with Arunagiri Yogeshwara. The very idea that you and the object of devotion are separate does not exist. You do not know what to give. Still I remember when I would get up to go to Arunagiri Yogeshwara, I would search the whole house to see what to give him. It is such a sacred feeling!
In Ramayana this is depicted – Valmiki says Ravana physically handled Sita, put her in his flight and took her away. But Kamba in Kamba Ramayana says Ravana lifted the whole house in which Sita was staying and took her away. So early morning when I used to get up, that is how I used to feel. Somehow if I can take the4 whole house and give it away to Arunagiri Yogeshwara.
One day Raghupati Yogi was explaining Yoga Sutra – when you feel one with nature nature listens to you. I asked him how this is possible. He asked me to test it. There was a huge boulder on the hill nearby. I contemplated and meditated feeling one with the rock. When I was in that ecstasy, he moved my hand and the boulder rolled down! So I wanted to ask him to lift my house so that I can present to Arunagiri Yogeshwara. Anyhow, early morning before going to Arunagiri Yogeshwara, I will take one dhothi, pack whatever I get my hands on in that. I take all the small wooden box and other items with which I make my temple. I will take all that. And he laughed at me. One day I wanted to stitch a shirt for him. I took a measurement with a rope. He was laughing ☺ actually I called him you come to tailor shop and I will stitch a shirt for you. he said no you only take measurement and get it stitched. Finally, it did not get materialized. Whole day I used to feel what can I take to him and what can I give him. You just do nto know in what way can I please him, what satisfied him, what pleases him, you just do not know. Devotion is the sacred sentiment which makes you feel how can I please him. You know very clearly you cannot fulfill him, he is already fulfilled. But how canI please him, what can I do for that, how can I pour myself to him. That intense mode is what is called devotion.
This is my message for devotees day – imbibe, imbibe, imbibe just be soaked in this one sacred sentiment – how can I please him? To whichever object you are connected to – again & again soak yourself, fill yourself in this one sacred sentiment you will melt in devotion.
Blessings!
