Prayer. Welcome. Today’s subject is - Is Enlightenment beyond Karma? As you all may be aware, I am exploring one of the important sutra of Patanjali Yoga Sutras.

169 Patanjali Yoga Sutras, 4th chapter 7th verse

Karma Asukla Akrushnam Yoginaha Trinitam Vitaresham

I will translate the word karma in a different way. Maybe this understanding will be useful to understand more deeper things. How when a system is created in a village that whole village automatically thinks, works, moves, breathes, lives in that system. If a system is created in a town, automatically the whole town breathes the system, if a system is created in a country, the whole country breathes that system. Especially as time passes the whole community imbibes that system more & more deeply. Same way, when the cosmos was created, the system evolved. The system lived, breathed, intonated, experienced and expressed by cosmos is what we call Karma. The system cosmos lives, the system that the ‘whole’ believes, the system with which the whole evolves is karma.

Karmaha asukla akrishna – please understand, always the head of the system will be liberated from the system, will have the free hand to work around the system, to manipulate the system, to move the system by his will. If there is any system which does not get controlled by somebody by free will, that system cannot update itself based on the future changes. It is a dead system. It cannot be alive. If a head of a country cannot amend the system, if he does not have free will to play with the system, the system cannot upgrade itself. The system will be dead. It cannot be alive. This freedom has one plus point. Only with this freedom we can grow and expand. It has one minus point – the possibility of a manipulation by the head. So both good & bad exist. In the cosmic system also, the center of the cosmos-the person who has become the center – the yogi has a freedom to play with karma. To go beyond karma. But one important thing is neither he is affected by it, nor the comos gets affected by it. That is something very unique. Please understand this point is where the atheist and theists differ. Atheists claim the whole thing is automatic mechanism. But the yogis claim it is not automatic mechanism. There is an independent intelligence which plays the role of being at center and being the head. But this is not the same as the county head. The country head can create good or bad sukla and Krishna can happen. But the free will power a yogi has over cosmic law – karma, neither has sukla or Krishna. It neither creates good nor bad over the cosmic law. The independent intelligence the capacity to manipulate which the yogi possesses.

Let us understand the word sukla and Krishna in this angle. The other day I translated karma as ripple effect of actions. I can say I gave one view of karma as far as individual is concerned. Now I am translating it in a broader scale as far as a community, village, town, panchayat, ultimately the cosmos is concerned– as far as a society is concerned – what karma means, what it means when it comes to comsos. God is not the president of all the countries put together. No. unfortunately religions created in a civilization where politics is the whole concept of life imagined God also as the head of powers who sit and rules. Some of the religious literatures evolved which says God says I am jealous God! I was so shocked! No. that may not be jealous of anything. He can at the maximum enjoy, celebrate – he cannot be jealous. How can he be jealous of his own extension? I cannot be jealous of my photo, I can only enjoy it. He cannot be jealous of his reflection. Unfortunately when you project God as a political leader in a different level, you tend to feel he is the extension of the political head. So just like the political head’s ability to intervene into country law to crate good and bad, you also think God creates hell and heaven. No. I tell you, in cosmic law, only a yogi who has experienced can interfere. He has power over the cosmic law. He can manipulate, play with cosmic law. But the way he plays, the whole thing functions, neither he gets purified or impure nor the world gets purified or impure by his actions. I wanted to tell you asukla, akrishna – not only to the yogi, even to the society to the cosmos he does not cause purity or impurity! He is also untouched. As I was explaining the other day Is karma exothermic or endothermic – sukla, Krishna – black means which absorbs all the heat. White means which reflects all the heat. Black is endothermic, white is exothermic.

Very beautifully Patanjali says sukla and Krishna. See Karma either it should be throwing too many ripples or pulling absorbing the ripples happening. Whether it is like exothermic or endothermic. But Patanjali is so clear for yogi it is neither exothermic nor endothermic. I will give you a simple diagram. A simple presentation which can make you understand the depth of karma and many questions you have related to karma (draws this grid on the board)

Endothermic= absorbing · Black (absorbs everything) · Incomplete action Exothermic \= Giving off · White (gives off everything) · Complete action

Everyday I am translating the word karma in different different ways. One day I translated it as ripple effect action. So that translation will be helping you when you use the word karma subjectively.

Today I am translating the word karma as the flow of life, the flow of the whole. So today the translation which I am giving is more for the social and cosmic understanding. But the presentation I am going to make now with it you will be able to understand karma at subjective level and the social and cosmic level – in all 3 levels you can use the word karma, translate the word karma and understand this sutra.

If you translate the word karma as ripple effect of action. Please remember, recall the translation I gave in day before yesterday’s satsang. I will briefly re-connect it because only then you will understand the whole flow. The ripple effects of actions if they are leading to more and more ripple effects. Please understand, if they are leading to more and more ripple effects by absorbing too many engrams into it, when an action is performed, if it is unfulfilled, you create an engrams and absorb in you. If the action is fulfilled, complete, you give off – the karma is fulfilled. The ripple effect does not stay in you that is what we call as white. Usually the way this sukla and Krishna is translated, I am using that kind of translation. But in Vedic Tradition there are other sampradayas – tantriks and many other sampradayas they translate the word Krishna in a much different way. They associate sacredness to the dark colors. Of course here I am trying to explain what Patanjali means. Exothermic, if an action is complete and full. Does not absorb, record, imbibe any engrams. If the action is unfulfilled, incomplete, it absorbs certain engrams and you go on creating more & more actions – incomplete.

A man who is functioning with the normal engrams, always acts endothermical and absorbs more and more engrams. A man who acts exothermically completes actions and feels liberation more & more and the experience of freedom is glimpsed by him inch by inch and he does not acquire any engrams. But a yogi is neither endothermic, nor exothermic. He is just thermic. The source is neither exothermic nor endothermic – asukla akrishna. If you translate the word karma as ripple effect of action, you will understand many questions you have related to action based on this understanding. 2nd yesterday the point I was explaining a yogi neither has endothermic nor exothermic. That is the reason he goes on experiencing the non-endothermic and non-exothermic space of you. Please understand, even the worst theif will be loving towards his child. Even the great loving man will carry certain hatred towards the people who try to destroy him or who cherish constant enmity with him. Please understand, if you are identifying yourself with love, you will see the love in everybody. If you are identity with enmity, you will enmity in everybody. If you have realized you are beyond endothermic and exothermic, you will see the beyond exothermic and endothermic in everybody. Even if somebody is a great loving being, he can see love in everybody. If somebody is a violent man, he can see violence in everybody. The world is a mixture of both. In what you are based, you can see that. That is the reason I gave that example. Don’t connect that example with me. I do not have any engrams because the yogi is beyond the both. I gave you that example for diff understanding. Thru that example I want you to understand that world is a mixture of both, you can see what you want. World is mixture of sukla and Krishna – endothermic and exothermic. You can see whatever you want! Because I am established in a space beyond action, the space which does not get purified or impure by actions, I see the same untouched space in everybody. But unfortunately because you are staying only in a space which gets purified or impure by actions, you see that in me. Whatever you feel as you, you project that in the world. Tomorrow I will explain how the bhoo bhuva svaha the different worlds are created by the karma you identify with – different G – 1g, 2g, 4g. What kind of personality you associate yourself with the different spectrums of worlds. Till this mafia attacked us, I never imagine there will be people will disturb others. I knew only 2 worlds – one people do not disturb, 2 if you do, they will. So my spectrum is total diff and theirs is totally different. But fortunately my spectrum leaves me free and their spectrum puts them in jail! Using all power they tried to imprison me. That did not work out. Same way using all power they tried to protect themselves and it did not work out.

I will explain tomorrow how the identification makes you experience the different spectrum. How we can raise ourselves to different spectrums and ultimately beyond the spectrums. Blessings!
