I am going to speak on Patanjali Yoga Sutras in a systematic way. From this sutra Patanjali describes beautifully the major truths like Dharma, Satya. He almost gives an essence and gist and much more in this n ext few sutras because now he is going to conclude the book. Usually before concluding the book we try to give the gist in few lines and if we want to add few lines the conclusion we give. On each sutra I am going to talk at least a week. They are so rich! Tomorrow & day after tomorrow I will be attending an important public function, Dhyana Satsang in Northern Karnataka. So when I am back, I will start on these sutras. Today I wanted to share few words on a subject – Hinduism a life style not just a religion!

Hinduism is a life style. It is the way we breathe, the way we eat, the way we sit, the way we talk, the way we think about us, the way we relate with the world, the way we relate with the whole.

I want to make a clear understanding point to all of you. All religions stop with Vidhi Nisheda – means dos and dont’s that’s all. They say how many times you can marry, how many times you can eat, how many times you can pray, which book you need to read, what kind of prayers you need to do. I am surprised there are religions which give a clear written script and you have to repeat only that. You cannot even have your own language when you talk to God. It is just like an application and you need to just sign. That’s all. Because those religions are bothered about how many more signatures they receive. They are not bothered about fulfilling you, they are on signature campaigns. There are some religions which bothers about signature campaigns, which stop only with vidhi nisheda – do this don’t do that. that’s all!

But religion is originally an exploration into the inner science, exploration into the mystery – beyond actions and logic. Please understand, religions which stop with dos and dont’s become popular because politicians can easily use it. Because politics, controlling others is nothing but dos and dont’s. Religion is used by many politicians to control and manipulate masses. Please understand religion should not mix in politics. Politicians should be secular. When is ay secular I mean collecting the essence of all religions and radiating it. Same way religious leaders should not be secular. They have to stand with their religions.

Not being fanatic is different and never tasting your own truth because you have tasted your own Ishta Nishta is different. Anyone who has tasted Vedic tradition can never be fanatic because the source of Vedic tradition is accepting all Gods. The secular religious leaders and politicians who use religion are both dangerous. Politicians use religion to manipulate and control masses. The Vedic tradition which goes beyond Vidhi Nisheda – dos and don’t’s. It also has dos and dont’s. But it goes beyond. Exploring the mystic realms. It explores mysticism. But the word mysticism is also too poor because the only word the West knows is mystery. When they describe mystery they can only talk in the language of nature like a hill or a river. Because they don’t know further. Vedic Tradition steps beyond the dos and dont’s and the mysteries described by the western world – consciousness. It steps beyond the dos and dont’s and what west calls as mystery. It enters into the super conscious state. There is something beyond dos and dont’s. Something beyond how many times you eat, how many times you pray, how many times you sleep, how many times you wives you marry. Beyond all these. There is something which is never touched by your actions or inactions. Which runs in the core as an extraordinary science. Which is cosmic understanding. See the country law ordinary dos and dont’s only drains you, controls you, manipulates you. But the cosmic understanding, the more you understand the more you are empowered and liberated. The Hindu Tradition, Vedic Tradition is the only tradition which goes beyond the dos and dont’s which manipulates the masses, which can look into the cosmic understanding. That is why the great truths like the karma theory still remains as mystery but works! Even if you don’t understand, cosmic law works! Just because you don’t understand, saying that this does not exist is atheism!

Kambar a great poet saint who wrote Ramayana is a great psychologist. He very beautifully describes when Raavana lost all his weapons and stands in front of Rama – niraayudhabaani. In Hindu Tradition we have a tradition that when anyone stands without a weapon, you cannot attack him. We have a clear understanding even in fight. We have to fight with someone at the same level. Whether you know it or not, cosmic law works. Kambar beautifully describes Raavana standing without any weapon. Rama says alright go now, have your weapon and come back. When Raavana turns back and goes back to Srilanka, he does not have the suffering that his sons were dead, not that he will be defeated, but the main suffering that Sita will laugh that I am not a man! Same way, these guys who created this scandal and are now stuck with their problems, will suffer because a Swamy will laugh at them! This is what is cosmic law. Even if you don’t understand, it works!

Hinduism is based on cosmic law. That is why I am saying nobody can destroy it. It is a lifestyle! That is why, even this so called atheists talk about atheism in public but not in their personal life. It is all just ideas used to manipulate people. Atheism is also a religion used by many Bharatn politicians to control masses. In atheism it is much worse because you don’t need to be moral. You don’t need to live a life without grabbing from others. Just do anything you want and be in power. That’s all! Swindle, grab, loot do whatever you want you don’t need to be sensitive to the humanity or to life. Hinduism steps beyond dos and dont’s. It enters into the realm of higher consciousness. That is why it is a non-saleable religion! If it is just a set of dos and dont’s we can always make pride out of that dos and dont’s. For example, if your religion says don’t marry more than once, or you can marry 4 times, you can make a law out of it, you can start selling and promoting it. But the Vedic Tradition is beyond the numbers, beyond the dos and dont’s. It insists on experiencing the ultimate. Unfortunately western language says ultimate as other world. No, it not other world, it is this world. The ultimate is not other world. All western philosophy abuses us too much other worldly – all our religions as Buddhism, Jainism, etc as other worldly. We are not other world. We are in reality of this world. what do they mean by other wolrd? 2 days before I read an article in a newspaper. One fellow has guts to write that there is no proof for re-birth. Millions of researches are happening now in modern day and more than 70% of American citizens believe in re-birth. It is not just belief. It is an understanding. And these fellows sitting in Bharat still talking that there is no re-birth. Are they still in British times? They need to realize that Bharat is now independent. They need to update their brains, and catch up with what is happening around.

I have given a solid proof in my own life saying the Banyan tree in our temple and Tiruvanamalai are one and the same and planted by me in past birth. We did research and scientists proved that they are one and the same. I will spend more time and get solid evidences about this rebirth and all that. I will prove all the revelations of the super conscious experiences of our Vedic rishis. Because that part still remains as something beyond our logic these guys go on abusing the Vedic Tradition. Hinduism is not just a religion it is a group of spiritual traditions which are beyond ordinary dos and dont’s. In Hindu Tradition any one branch you touch it is an end to end chain. It helps you to begin where you are. It is the most user friendly religion in the planet earth and self sufficient guide. It leads you to the ultimate super conscious enlightenment. It is a group of self sufficient independent spiritual traditions. If you take Saivism it starts where you are standing and step by step leads you the ultimate.

Modern day intellectuals go on abusing our traditions like deity worship and all that. Hinduism serves all category people. So it begins where people are standing. That is why it opens the door to the deity worship. Then it raises them to bhajan, it raises them to stotra, it raises them to japa, it raises them to it raises them to meditation, it raises them to unclutching, it raises them to eternal ultimate experience enlightenment Hindu Tradition is self sufficient user friendly independently intelligent guide to lead you to where you are to where you can be. That is why I say it is a life style. Not just a religion. Secularism is the invention of the people who are not able to fit themselves in the cooky cutter religion. In Bharat we did not have this problem because we have 1000s of choices. We don’t need to deny the whole thing completely. It is like in a village all decided to wear same type dress. For some it did not fit, suffocated so all decided to be naked. But in Bharat in the Ganges civilization we had tailors who constantly make clothes of your size. Those tailors are our acharyas. That is why we do not have secular people – atheists. Even the intellectual atheists in Bharat had a proper technology to reach the ultimate. The intellectually rich atheist will never be power hungry and bull dozing all other religions. Bharat is a secular country and we have the freedom to practice any religion. How come some fellows have the right to bull doze and destroy other leaders? I will work intensely and declare. I will work for declaring atheism as an independent religion in Bharat. If we can do that legally, all the abuse they do towards us will be treated as religious terrorism. They nicely hide in the name of Hinduism in which they are born, but they nicely practice some other things and abuse our tradition. Nobody notices this. it is time we need to give a clear understanding about Hinduism as a life style. And all other religions based on dos and dont’s as

3rd atheists do not have anything further than dos and dont’s. So the religions which is based just on dos and dont’s when they try to sell their concept, they try to destroy the oldest life style which is Hinduism. Because it is such a subtle ultimate truth, sublime reality not other worldly this worldly deeper than their ordinary superficial understanding, sometimes people have larger understanding than you have. Because they have it you cannot say they are other worldly. They are straight. The other day there was a discussion one man got up and said Sir I know a political leader. If all the money he grabbed is taken out of him, Bharat will not have any poor people. 2nd guy got up and said I know a politician all the man power he is controlling and using as rowdies if that is taken out of him all men will have job and Bharat’s GDP will go up by 10 times more. Another said I know a politician if all women under his control are released, all the bachelors in Bharat will not be searching for partners anymore! ☺

Sometimes people are more intelligent than you think. They think much more clearly, more mature. It is like cat closes its eyes and drinks milk, it thinks it is dark. Same way some politicians don’t understand that you just gave people TV, but people have the remote control! So even if truth is not shown in one channel, people just change the channel. That’s all! Even with the rumors around me, I can see how people are behaving so intelligently. Understand Hindu Tradition suffers just because it is too sublime. It is not a bull dozing tradition. It is super conscious experience. It respects all even simple sacred sentiments you carry. Krishna says very beautifully – do not break anybody’s faith even if you think it is lower faith than the faith you have. For ex, some people think enlightenment is the ultimate. So they think worshipping deity is lower faith.

Hinduism is not just dos and dont’s. It is beyond them. it is a life style! Hinduism is a life style. Not just a religion. I want all of you to start working on that which is beyond dos and dont’s. Exploring the consciousness by diff samyamas, diff meditation processes which will lead you beyond actions and inactions. Then you will taste the true Vedic Tradition.
