The Satsang

Prayer. Welcome. Before entering into today’s subject. I will answer the questions related to the last satsangs, discourses from the satsang centres.

Q: I saw you in my dream in bright saffron robe. Am I imagining or is it my vision?

I always tell you the scale to find out whether what you are having is a imagination or a vision – if you see in multi color it is vision. If you are able to remember the experience only in black & white then it is dream.

I thought even without asking swamiji is healing me..

Very beautiful tamil verse by Ramana Maharshi which says – the grace & compassion you have & the name & fame you have says you always give without even asking. Everybody says and the whole world knows you have a name of giving without even asking. Don’t destroy your name. give me what I am supposed to get, better let you grace me. actually when your feeling connection is in the being level those who are fortunate and nowhere involved directly. If the feeling connection is strong, I am not involved and I am not even necessary. If you connect with me in the level of words, then I am your teacher. I may need to give you technique, you have to practice that and you may get what you want. If you connect with me through Bhakti, then you ask and I give. If you connect with me in the being level then even if you have not seen me physically or met me, then the relationship is totally different – you don’t even have to ask me then. I will just give – this is the God & devotee relationship. Blessed are those who experience the God & devotee relationship! When you are in that highest relationship, ghe God in my body automatically takes care of you. it is like 3 dept for me – teacher, Guru and God dept. the God dept is always automatic and rarely I operate from there. Guru disciple mechanism I spend my time mostly in it.

I have great deal of love for you Swamiji no matter what

Here you are saying whether you get healed or not, I don’t care, I surrender! This statement is the key of your sharing.

2) Q: in shiva sutra you explained that we should meditate on Kumbaka. When I slip into the deep mode, I forget my breathing and I hardly recognize whether I am breathing or not…..today you explained breathing is not cessation of breath alone…..i used to think praana is oxygen which is in the air. Could you please explain more on praana which I now understand is more subtle than the air we breathe…

Praana is a kind of a vibration which goes inside along with the air you b reathe. The vibration stays in you and continues to add more frequency to your life energy and the air comes out. Few more things you need to know – even while you feel that breathing is stopped during the deep awareness or meditation, the praana continues to go in. that is why yogis can be alive even if they stop taking air in…I am trying to get the right word. Praana – life breath is independent of breathing. When you forget yourself in the meditation, praana going in & coming out actually increases. Air going in & coming out may reduce but the praana going in & settling increases. That is the reason meditation rejuvenates you. if meditation is making you tired then something is seriously wrong. It can only rejuvenate you. the praana is independent of breathing.

Today’s subject – breathe life into your breath!

102nd verse, 2nd chapter – 51st verse –

Baahya yantara vishaya akshepi chaturthaha

Vivekananda: the 4th is the restraining of the praana by directing it either external or internal objects

Prabhavananda: the 4th kind of pranayama is the stoppage of the breath which is caused by concentration of external internal objects

Satchitananda: there is a 4th kind of pranayama that occurs during concentration on an internal or external object

It is a very powerful sutra – the awareness which you carry about you if it gets centered on anything whether internal or external – means on any chakras or object in the mind it is called internal. If it gets centered on any external object – because of this awareness on internal or external, if the breathing gets stopped then it is praanayama. I can say this the 4th stage and ultimate pranayama. Only after this step we can get into the next part of yoga.

The 1st level pranayama is just regulating the 4 air flow – going in, staying in, going out, staying out, 2nd stage of pranayama is elongating the 4 stages. The 3rd stage of pranayama is stopping in any one of the 4 steps of air flow. The 4th stage of pranayama is because of being centred in some object internally or externally if your breathing stops then it is the 4th stage.

Baahya yantara vishaya akshepi chaturthaha

Outward inward object experience or idea all these things can be called as vishaya. If it is external it can be called as object. If it is internal it can only be an experience or a thought or an idea. So being centred either on external or internal object can lead to the stoppage of air movement, can lead to just praana going in & settling into your system – this is the 4th stage of praanaayaama. Because of concentrating on external or internal object and breathing stopping you will experience breathing may or may not happen but your thoughts have stopped. This is the powerful 4th stage of praanaayaama. In this stage, you will be able create anything you want. It is like all materials can be created out of praana. Just like clay out of which you can make anything you want, all materials can be made of praana. So if you can achieve stoppage of breath by your awareness being centred on something internally or externally you can make whatever you want. But understand, you can then make whatever you want to make in this word when y oru praana is under your control.

Understand this sutra – concentrate either ron some external object or on some idea or experience internally. If your awareness is centred on that, breathing is stopped and praana is under your control and you will be able to create anything. Blessings!
