Blessings for Malleshwaram also. So today I am going to speak on Ganesha!

Ganesha is beloved of all Hindus. Understand. Ganesha is more like a household member of Hindu families than a God because he does not carry anything related to seriousness of God. But he can create that sacredness of all of us. Embodiment of Pranava – Omkara sound. He is the 1st God in the Hindu tradition. His very shape shows he is a happy person not bothered about ns. Not bothered about any other things living blissfully. Happily eating whatever devotees give. Above all beyond the red tape of aagamaas. See sometime the aagamaas become a red tapeism stopping us making us feel distanced from the divine. This happened in me before going to Ramakrishna mission. I had the Darshan of Sri Ramakrishna in my dream, in the visions. I used to feel so close with Sri Ramakrishna. I just know he is mine, I am his. But when I went to the Ramakrishna mission. When I took up the responsibility of the pujari there is so much of rules and regulations. Don’t sit here, don’t stand there, don’t touch here, don’t touch there. I felt distanced from Sri Ramakrishna with all this.

See even for you - as long as you stay in your house and have my photo and have me for yourself – your own version of Nithyananda and do aarthi, do puja, put flowers and do whatever you want. But when you come here you cannot even give me a flower directly. You will have ten people standing around me. I also will co-operate with them and tell put it on the deity. This happens. Sometimes the aagamaas which are created to help you feel connected to the deity or guru or god creates certain distance. But when I settled with that system then I saw the distance disappeared, the feeling connection was growing, getting built. Anyhow, Ganesha is not bound by any of this agamic red tape bureaucracy. Ganesha temples are only temples there is no caste rule. Anybody can be a priest. In Shiva temples if you are an Iyengar even if you are a Brahmin, you cannot be a priest. In Vishnu temples if you are a Iyer, even if you are a Brahmin you cannot be a priest. In Shaiva Siddhantha – If you are Iyengar or Iyer you cannot be a priest. Only Desigar you have to be in Shaiva Siddhantha temples to be a priest. Our ambananda who is a brahmin and MA in Sanskrit could not be a priest in Shaiva Siddhantha temples. They are not ready to accept him. But Ganesha has no such thing. Not only that he is the largest worshipped God. There are thousands of gods we have. There is no Hindu who will not worship him. Even if they are Vaisnavites they start worship with Ganesha.

There are 7 sampradayas in Hindu tradition. Worshipers of Ganesha, worshippers of Vishnu, worshippers of Shiva, worshippers of Devi, worshippers of Surya, worshippers of Subramanya, worshippers of their gurus. No one God is accepted by all 7 sampradayas other than Ganesha. All the seven sampradayas have to start their rituals with Ganesha worship. Souras worshipping surya they don’t need to accept Shiva and Vishnu in their worship. You will not find any place for Shiva and Vishnu. Shaivites have no place for Vishnu. Vaishnavites have no place for Shiva. Vaishnavites are said to have bell around their ears. Even if by mistake they listen to the Shiva stotra or mantra, they ring the bell so that the sound does not enter their ears! Same way Shaivties they are said to never cross any Vishnu cities or where the Vishnu exists. Because they should not get influenced. Shaaktas put Shiva at feet of Devi. They don’t worship any other deity. But whether you are shakti, Shaiva, soura, goumara or gartabhaja means the guru worshippers people who worship their own guru as incarnation of god. Actually Nithyananda Sampradaya falls under the Gartabhaja only. You guys are Guru worshippers only. Basically you believe guru as god. So you are gartabhajas only. So whatever sampradaaya you may belong to, but you have to start your worship with Ganesha, with Ganesha puja. Ganesha is the beloved of the whole Hindu tradition and who does not create red tapeism of agamas between disciples, devotees, followers and himself. Easy to approach, can be worshipped through any medium. You don’t need any stone deity installed as per agaama. Just put a piece of cow dung keep it and say ganapataye namaha he is there. That is the beauty of Ganesha. His form is the ultimate. His name is the ultimate. His leelas most beautiful, simple leelas. The very form itself is so friendly the elephant which almost every human being likes. Even though it looks so huge, it can be domesticated so easily and becomes your friend. He carries the elephant face which represents the Omkara.

He represents the great philosophy. He carries the ankusa which represents the power of unclutching, he carries the paasa which represents ability to distance yourself from emotions, the broken tusk which represents the sacrifice and spontaneity, and the modaka - if you have all these 3 your life will be sweet. He is embodiment of intelligence and innocence together. Son of shakti and life given by Mahadeva. Actually even with Subramanya there was no involvement of Devi. It was just from Shiva. Other than his spear there is no Devi component in Subramanya. Devi gave that spear to him. But in Ganesha. Ganesha was made out of the body perfume of Devi and killed and life was given back by Mahadeva. So Ganesha carries both the elements of Shiva and shakti. He is the ultimate boon giver. He is pleased just by a coconut. From the time I remember myself all the examinations are written by Ganesha only. Al you need to give him is a coconut only. Still he is the sweetheart of Hindu children especially the exam going children. A powerful divine being. My life , the spiritual life has started with Ganesha. Ganesha eating the food is the first experience happened in my life. And I can say my spiritual journey was successful and unfolded with all its glory, beauty and depth and ….here I have the Ganesha who inaugurated and initiated my spiritual life.

We will be having puja for Ganesha today. For this deity also. Ganesha is the deity easy to worship, easy to relate with. You are supposed to start your spiritual life with him by his grace.

Whether it is Vyaasa the 1st master or the most recent master Ramana all of them have to start with Ganesha. Whether they are going to sing a stotra or give a teaching, anything or spiritual sutras. Even if they have to teach the enlightenment science which says god is formless they have to start with Ganesha. Even if they have to express god is nirguna bramhan first they have to say let me bow down to Ganesha to express these great truths properly. Whether it is Vyaasa or Ramana Maharshi, first to last, most ancient to most recent masters they have to start with Ganesha. Vyaasa starts with Ganesha Purana and every book with remembrance of Ganesha. And Upanishads and Vedas start with beautiful Upanishad called Ganapathi artharva sirshopanishad.

He is lord of all ashramites in Kailash. He is in charge of all ashramites in Kailash. See in Kailash there are four categories - Saalokya muktas, saameepya muktas, sarropya muktas, sayujya muktas. All saalokya muktas and sameepya muktas are called ganas, all saroopya muktas are called muni and rishis and all sayujya muktas don’t have individual identity they disappear into Mahadeva. They are called Mahadeva only as they are one with him. So the ganas – all the saalokya and saameepya muktas these 2 are called as ganas. Ganesha is in charge of all of them. That is why he is called Ganesha - lord of ganas. He is responsible of all ashramites in Kailash and he attends to all their needs including Parvathi all house keeping supplies are taken care of by Ganesha. Munis and rishis don’t come under him. They come directly under Dakshinamurthy muneeshwara. But all ganas live under Ganesha. He is responsible for taking care of them. In Kailash each one of them take up one responsibility. The munis and rishis even though they come directly under Dakshinamurthy, Nandi takes care of them. That is why all munis and rishis are nandinaatha sampradayis. But all others come under Ganesha.

Sit straight and remember Ganesha. You can do the niraahaara samyama today like Ganesha. Have a huge body like Ganesha and fill your whole body like Ganesha listening to this Ganapathi artharva sirshopanishad. Become Ganesha.

Continue to sit like Ganesha. Let Ganesha who is lord of your Muladhara Shakti awaken your kundalini shakti and awaken you all!
