“We will try to share few ideas on the ‘Science of enlightened…”

Live notesUntitled · opening words shown
The Satsang

We will try to share few ideas on the ‘Science of enlightened management – Lord Krishna’s way’. And then we will try to internalize these ides through few questions. Let us question those ideas and try to see what comes out of it. It is like a churning process like how the milky ocean was churned. Let us share and enjoy what comes out. All over the world the need for spirituality is being felt.- Wall Street journalist writing about Bhagavad Gita, all over world management gurus are turning towards eastern ideas, the gurus of the East are well-received and respected. And the spiritual ideas are not only being heard they are being practiced also. All over the world I am seeing people are sincere about practicing the spiritual ideas because they have something really to contribute. Last few years I am observing one more thing: people are not even going to the ‘trekker’ kind of gurus. 10-15 years ago, that was the trend – use yoga, Bhagavad Gita. People are not even going to that kind of gurus anymore. They want straight authentic source. The big problem with the people from the source is they are not orators. They will be able to communicate but they are not orators, they are not able to package it. But people are not bothering about packaging now. They want from the source. They are back to the source.

But people want from the direct authentic source, from the experience. From experience they want to learn. Not only in management, in every field, they want to learn from the source.

I will try to share few of my thoughts on Lord Krishna’s way of management. I can say in our tradition, Krishna is the ultimate manager because his whole life was management. (Everything, everything).

He understood the dharma so perfectly. He has become embodiment of dharma. Let me define dharma. Dharma is a strong experience of conflict-free inner space. Please understand, dharma is an experience of conflict-free inner space.

Actually we carry two personalities, two identities – the identity which we show to the outer world, the identity which we present to the outer world as who we are or how we want people to understand us, how we want people to respect us, how we want people to relate with us. That is what we call ahankar in Sanskrit. It will always be more than what we are. What we present to the outer world, it will always be more than what we are.

Please understand, everyone of us is cooking our books. (Everyone of us). Everyone of us is cooking our books. The ahankar by its own nature will always be much more than what we are.

And we carry another one identity - what we believe as we inside our inner space. That is called mamakar. That will be always lower than what is. Please understand, the identity which we present to the outer world, how we want people to recognize us, how we want people to understand about us, how we want people to know about us, that is called ahankar. It will be always more than what we are - cooking books. And another one identity – what we believe as we inside our inner space. When you are in your bedroom, what you believe as you, when you are alone what you think as you, what you believe as you, that’s what we call mamakar. It will be always lower than what you are. That is why constant struggle.

Our life is nothing but the struggle between the ahankar and mamakar. Mamakar trying to become ahankar is our life, that’s all. Please understand, mamakar is always lower than what we are. Ahankar is always more than what we are. Co constantly we show to the outer world more than what we are. And constantly we believe ourselves less than what we are. The struggle between these two is our life. When this struggle ends, when this conflict ends, when we live conflict-free, we are in dharma, we are centered in dharma. Dharma is conflict-free life. Pure inner space where the conflict between ahankar and mamakar does not exist, suddenly you see your whole life is different. You attract different situations in your life, and you handle situations in a completely different way. You can see the whole drama in Krishna’s life. The whole thing. I can say if I have to describe Krishna’s whole life in one line, ‘the pure romance with Existence’. He was in pure romance even when he was in the war, when he was driving the chariot of Arjuna. He was in pure romance because he is established in dharma.\\Pure romance is what I call bhakti. Romance without any form or name. Romance not directed toward one object. Just overflowing energy. When you are conflict-free, when there is no conflict between the ahankar and mamakar, suddenly you know how to manage everything. Management can never be taught, that’s the truth. It can never be taught but we can learn. It’s like swimming. Swimming can never be taught but we can learn.

Krishna’s way of management can never be taught, it can be learnt. You can see the expressions, few expressions of Krishna’s inner space. Maybe we can fake it and make it. You can fake the few expressions and make the experience. That way you can pick up the science of enlightened management. If you look little deep into Krishna’s life, it is filled with conflict, filled with complications, filled with problems. But he was a living example. I can say he is the experience of whatever he expressed in the Gita, whatever he said, ‘karmanyevadhikaraste maa phaleshu kadachana…’ so many ideas he is expressing. He is an experience, he is an embodiment of all those expressions. We can’t…at least I can’t teach you all those expressions. Maybe if you catcj any one expression and try to fake it…in the initial level it will be like faking only. That is what we call practicing. Any practice is faking. You are trying to practice. You are trying to practice. Maybe by faking, you can experience it. Even one expression if it leads you to the experience, you will be able to experience all the expressions. That is why we are saying it can’t be taught. It can only be learnt. You can’t teach all the dimensions of Krishna’s experience. Krishna is expressing in so many wonderful ways. I don’t think I can tech all the expressions. Each incident if you pick up and study, gives you a different lesson. And if you see after a few days, after you grow, you will see a different lesson.

It is like Krishna’s life and teachings has many different layers. From which layer you start, you connect, in that way you start understanding, you start relating, you start experiencing. I will try to share the basic truth, the inner space of Krishna. Whatever I have experienced, I have understood. Try to experiment with this idea. Try to play with this idea. There is every chance a new door will open inside your being. A new experience can happen inside your being. Whatever is Krishna’s expressions, all those expressions can start expressing through your being.

Just only one simple technique. Because there is so much to talk about Krishna. The whole Bharat is talking about Krishna for last five thousand years. We have not done anything else except talking about Krishna. The whole Bharat. Go to North Bharat, every street you will see reading Bhagavatam, Bhagavata Gnana Yajna going on. Whole Bharat, nobody else is able to impress the human consciousness like Krishna.

I will try to express and explain one simple technique to experience the inner space of Krishna, to establish yourself in dharma. Establishing conflict free inner space. Like I was explaining you have two identities. One is ahankar which we present to the outer world. Another one is mamakar which you believe as you. As I was telling, one is always more than what we are, the other one is always lower than what we are. Means both are illusory. They are not real, they are not solid experience of you. Somehow you started believing the ahankar and mamakar as you.

Continuously the thoughts which are happening inside us, you start connecting some thoughts and you start giving meaning to it. For example, if you believe your whole life is a suffering…even in that you want to be at the peak. Even in suffering, you want to be at the peak. You start believing your life is suffering. You wait for that kind of incidents to happen in your life. You don’t remember anything else except suffering. You create a shaft of the thoughts, experiences which happen in your life. So many incidents are happening in your life. So many things are happening in your life. But we wait, we pick up only the incidents which confirm your faith. Whatever you believe about you, the incidents pr the thoughts or the ideas or the experiences which confirm your belief, you pick up those thoughts and connect. You say, ‘Yes, see I told you my life is suffering. Whatever I touch will go like this only. How amny times I told you…see it is happening.’

You confirm again and again by picking up that kind of experiences and creating a shaft. That is what I call a pain shaft. We have very strong pain shaft in our being. You are waiting for pain. Please understand, we are all waiting for pain.

We are just waiting for painful experiences. If it does not happen, we have painful memories in our stock. We take tham and start cherishing. We take them out and start cherishing. Whatever we believe as our life, as our being, we again and again reinforce. We again and again strengthen. See, the basic instinct of human being is adding to whatever you believe as you. That is why if we believe we are human beings, we create more human beungs. Whatever we think as we, whatever we believe as we, we try to reproduce.

Person who is in the field of politics, tries to create more politicians. Perosn who has takne spiritual life tries to create more and more spiritual beings. Whateveryou believe as you, you try to reproduce. And you have confidence, anything reproduced by you will always be lower than you. So you feel superior by reproducing more and more pieces or things like you or space in which you are staying.

If you believe your life is a suffering, constantly you attract this kind of thoughts, ideas, experiences and strengthen it. That is what I call pain shaft. Sometimes, very rarely we believe our life is a joy. Very rarely, by reading all this kind of positive thinking, all this kind of things. Please understand, I am not going to teach you positive thinking, no. I think, I have seen many times, after reading all these kinds of books like ‘How to Stop Worrying, start Living’, one more worry you add - how to stop worrying. One more worry is added to our being. Previously we had only ten worries. Now there is an eleventh worry – how to stop worrying. And positive thinking is impossible. \\

Please understand, Krishna doesn’t talk, not only doesn’t talk, he doesn’t acknowledge positive thinking. Throughout the Gita, the idea of positive thinking is never encouraged. And our Vedic science never encouraged positive thinking. No Upanishad talks about positive thinking. Only in the later years, some of the traditions have started talking about positive thinking.

The whole thinking is waste. There is sno such thing as positive and negative. Either you are in the complete conflict-free inner space or you are in confusion. There is no question of positive thinking.

And I want you to know about this Dale Carnegie. How many of you have read his book? He wrote ‘How to Win friends and influence people’ and ‘How to stop worrying and start living’. How many of you have read his books?

I want you to know an important truth: next to Bible his books have been printed and sold. Next to Bible, means second Messiah practically! In the book ‘How to stop worrying and start living’ he talks about how to come out of suicidal tendencies. In this book ‘How to win friends and influence people’ he talks about how to have a romantic, loving relationship with your wife. This is the main theme of these two books. Any of you read his biography? He committed suicide because he was not able to live with his wife. No, it’ a truth, it’s a fact. Means he himself is not able to practice what he is teaching. Actually it is very easy to become a philosopher in the West. All you need to do is talk about the problem in a very beautiful way. Explain, explain, explain in a very lucid, beautiful way about the problem. Never give solution. Ee, when you talk about a problem which you experienced, in a very big way, you feel comfortabl. You feel connected, ‘Yes, he knows what I am going through. But you never bother whether he has something for it, some solution. You feel very consoled.

People want consolation, they don’t want solution. See actually, people want only consolation. They want to know that the other person is also in the same plane. They want to know everybody understands what I am going through. They want only support, not solution.

If you want to become a philosopher, very easy. Just talk beautifully, use all kinds of words, to express the problem, to explain the problem. Never give solution. Secondly, whatever you can’t practice, give as solution. These two are enough. And third thing, hide that you are not able to practice. Then it is very easy. Only thing, you should not appear and give public lectures. Dale Carnegie was always afraid of giving public lectures. Because people will find out I am not the person as I am expressing myself in the book. People who read my books, they have an idea about me. When they hear me directly, when they listen directly, their idea changes. Because you are sitting and talking, your body language will clearly express. That is why in our tradition, we never believed in reading. We always believed in hearing, listening, shruti. Listening is God in our tradition. Just listen. Listening means what? The person who is sitrting and talking, you know, you can see his body language whether he is confident about what he is talking. You can see whether he is experienced or not. I always tell people, it is not what I am talking, it is the confidence which I am expressing in my body language, the courage which is getting expressed in the eyes. That is what will give you the direct experience. There is a beautiful expression, three words in Sanskrit – shravana, manana, nidhidhyasana.

Shravan means listening. Manana means contemplating, internalizing. Nidhidhyasana means expressing, living it. Of you losten the truths from a living master, you don’t need the second step, internalizing. The power of the master, the power, the confidence which he radiates, when you listen sitting, the confidence, the energy, the courage which he radiates, will directly make the it become the experience, You don’t need to internalize.

It may not be expressed in a very polished language. He may be able to expree these ideas. That iws why in Sanskrit we have what we call asjha prayoga. Rishis don’t have to obey the gra, mmar. No grammar rule binds them. They can make any mistake and interpret anything in any way. It is called asha prayoga. Because they are trying to express which cant be experienced. They are trying to express subtle truths. So language can’t be one more disturbance. Expressing itself is a very big task. Their very body language will convey the truth. That itself is enough. Anyhow I am not going to talk about positive thinking.

Very rarely we believe life is a joy. Those moments again, th next problem immediately starts, ‘How long it is going to stay?’ ‘How long it is going to stay?’, next immediate problem. See now if you felt some suffering or sadness or some depression, you never think how long it is going to stay, it is goung to go away. No. But when you feel the joy or when you feel conflict-free inner space for few moments, immediately you start thinking, ‘I don’t know how long it is going to stay.’ So you hav a strong belief, your inner space should be depressed. That is your nature. You feel comfortable with it. Sort of you started feeling connected to it. That is where you qre supposed to be. You started thinking that is what is your nature.

Tht is whyt when you feel connected to joy or bliss or ecstasy, some moments you feel in the life, you start thinking, ‘No, no, no, I don’t know how long it is going to stay.’ And we strongly believe, if everything goes well today, tomorrow it will be bad. And we have very strong faith, we are very clear about it. If we don’t get any incident in our life, we open the newspaper and pick up from newspaper. And you say, ‘No, no, no, I know yesterday was so beautiful. I know today ius going to be the worst. Somehow we very strongly believe that that is our nature.

Anyhiw, whether you believe life is a pain shaft or joy shaft, please understand both are lies. Because the shaft does not exist. It is created by you. It is created by you. Life is neither a pain shaft nor a joy shaft. Conflict-freeness, comnflict-free inner space.

Choicelessness is dharma. You can ask, ‘If I am choiceless, how can I make decisions? How can I make decisions?’ After all I am talking about management. In management, every moment you need to make decisions.

Please understand, what I am proposing may look impractical. One more thing I want to tell you, if I am a sannyasi who is sitting in a forest, and I am proposing, ‘Stop choosing, be choiceless, be in an unclutched state’, then you can say, ‘No, no, he is a sannyasi. He is sitting in a forest, he has to live that dharma, and he has to talk that dharma. You can at least put up with it. I am not a sannyasi who is sitting in a forest. I am also running institutions as you. The President, Lakshminarayan mentioned, Amritanandamayi is managing institutions. In the modern day, we are all managing. We are serving the society, we are directly contributing. We may be non-profit at the end of the day. But the whole day we are managing. Maybe the results are handed over to society, given back to society. But the whole day we are doing the same thing which you are doing.

We have not done karma tyaga, we have done only karma phala tyaga. The results of the karma is sacrificed. But we have not done karma tyaga, we have not renounced the work itself. So we are doing what you are doing everyday. Please understand, from my own experience, I am telling you, all you need is a little courage to be in the conflict-free space, the choiceless inner space. Suddenly you see something happens. That something only I am not able to verbalize and…If we were able to verbalize that something, long before we would have started selling enlightenment. It is such a strong shift in your inner space.

I will try to explain this technique. Maybe you will be able to catch the truth, catch what I am trying to express. The pain shaft or the joy shaft both are illusory, imagination which is not there but which gives you the experience or the suffering as if it is there. That’s what we call maya in Sanskrit. Ya ma iti maya – which is not there but which makes you feel as if it is there. Which is not there but which gives you an experience of fear and greed as if it is there. This joy shaft and pain shaft both of them are not there but which gives you the feeling as if it is there.

Pain shaft gives you the fear, you just want to break and come out of it. Joy shaft gives you the greed, you want it to be everlasting, it should be there forever. It creates fear and greed but which is not there. It is not there but it creates fear and greed.

Please understand, the wonderful technique to come out of it. I use the word ‘unclutching’. Just like the mahavakyas – Aham brahmasmi or tat tvam asi. Just like the mahavakyas from the Vedic tradition, I call this word as the mahavakya. Unclutching. Continuously whatever is happening in you, try to unclutch. Whatever you think is happening in you. Whether it is right or wrong or good or bad or anything.

Please understand, I talk from my own experience. The moment I use the word ‘unclutching’, especially the people from the West. Of course, we are all mentally Westerners only. Our mental setup, our psychological setup. Maybe geographically we are from Bharat. But basically what Bharat is…anyhow, the education system is the Western education system. Naturally we are that kind of people. Anybody who is trained in the Western education system, they get the shock. They say, ‘What do you mean by unclutching Swamiji? What do you mean by relaxing into the choicelessness?’

Please understand, I talk from my experience. Not only my own experience, I am working with thousands and thousands of disciples who are managers, who are in all fields. From their experience also I tell you, when you unclutch, relax into the conflict-free inner space, suddenly the non-mechanical parts of your brain is awakened. Awakening the non-mechanical parts of your brain is what I call spiritual awakening. In Sanskrit we use the word dhi, pratyakatma chaitanya jagrat – awakening the non-mechanical parts of the brain.

See, if you are living whatever is mechanical parts of your brain will be functioning just by your very birth, just because you are a human being, it will function. First birth, your physical birth, it will start functioning. But if you learn the science of unclutching and relax into the silence, the nonmechanical parts if the brain is awakened, That is what we call the second birth, dvija. Anybody who is initiated into the Vedic science is called dvija, second birth. If you are initiated into the science of Vedic tradition, we call that person as dvija, reborn. Because when you understand how to be in the space where there is no conflicts, how to be in the choicelessness, the non-mechanical parts of your brain is awakened. That is what we call intuition. In the modern day the ‘intuitive management’ word has become very popular. They know only the word, we know the science. Please understand, they know only the word, we know the science.

Awakening the non-mechanical parts of the brain is what I call essence of this Vedic science, the science of enlightened management. All you need is a little courage. People ask me, ‘No, no, no, you say I should relax.’

At the end of the session, I will try to give you this simple technique, unclutching. I will try to give it as a technique, you can practice it. Any time you need.

All you need is a little courage to experiment with this technique. See, any number of books, lectures cannot convince you that you can swim till you see somebody swimming. They can’t convince you. You will ask, ‘No, no, no, how is it possible? How can man float on the water? It is impossible. No. No. No.’ The lecturer says, ‘No, no, no, move your right hand five times, move your left leg ten times.’ No., You will say, ‘Here I am moving my leg twenty times but I can’t float on the water.’

No intellectual question can be answered about swimming. You cannot be convinced that you can float by answering the intellectual questions. You can only jump and experience. In the same way, I cannot convince you, you can become a better manager by relaxing into the silence. Because logically it doesn’t go. Logic doesn’t agree. ‘What is this? I thought he will give some technique. He will give some ideas how to make better decisions. He is telling us, be in silence. Be in choicelessness.’ People always ask me, ‘If I am unclutched, if I am living in choicelessness, I will not work, I will not go to the job. I will just sleep.’ I tell them, how many days you can sleep, tell me. Lie down, it is ok. How many days you can lie down? Not more than 5-6 days.See, our body is made up of rajas, tamas and sattva. The tamas, inert feeling. Rajas, restlessness. Sattva, completely being balanced. 33-33-33%. Now you suppressed your tamas because of your restlessness. You did not give enough vacation or rest to your body. Maybe because of that, when you unclutch, first few days you will feel tamasic. You may not be active. But I tell you, once that tamas is exhausted in few days, just 4-5 days or 5-6 days, suddenly you will see a new energy, you are totally balanced. You are working out of sattva. Waiting till the tamas exhausts and trusting the technique, living the technique even when the tamas is leaving your system, is what I call tapas, waiting. Waiting for the technique to express itself. Waiting for the truth to become reality in you. That waiting it will not take more than few days. Even if you feel lazy, tamasic, feel like not doing anything, just relax into the choicelessness.

And one more thing, I am responsible for what I am talking. I know the side-effect, after-effect, aftermath of this kind of teachings. I am responsible for what I am talking because I have experienced it. I have experimented it with all kinds of people, different kinds of people. So I tell you, the essence of the science of enlightened management is unclutching and relaxing in that conflict-free zone. I am not even telling you to relax into that zone 24 hours. I am telling whenever you remember, whenever you feel like, relax into that zone. It is like whenever the suffering is too much, the torture is too much, whenever you feel suffocation, you will remember, ‘O! Let me relax.’ Whenever you remember, relax into that inner space. I will give you the etchnqiue how to relax into that inner space, how to rest in that inner space by unclutching. A very simple method, a very simple process. We don’t need to think, we don’t need to plan, we don’t need any qualification. It is a very simple process. Unclutching, what we call nirvikalpa. In Vedanta tradition, we call that nirvikalpa. No vikalpa, without any vikalpa. Just being nirvikalpa.

If you can relax into that inner space, into that conflict-free inner space, suddenly you will see the non-mechanical parts of your brain awakening., You will start experiencing different kind of energy. That is what we call in yogic tradition kundalini awakening, awakening the bio-energy, so many words we use.

See, when you come to a balance, suddenly you will see new light opening, new experience happening. You don’t have to think, ‘No, no, no, this all only if it happens. Till then what will I do?’ Please understand, it is a very clear science. It is a very clear science. I can say, I can very clearly define, please do this. Maximum only this many number of days are needed. This will be the experience. I can very clearly define it. There is no need for any assumption, imagination. It is a very clear, straightforward science. All you need is a little courage to experiment, play with it.

In North Bharat, I have seen…give a rope. I just wanted to show a small...Somebody give a small tag also ok. Id card tag. And a pen.

In North Bharat I have seen, in Agra area. I spent 9 years in walking length and breadth of Bharat. In Agra area, I have seen hunters using this kind of a stick. They will use a small stick and a rope to catch birds. You many think how a bird can be caught just with this. See, they will hang, like this will hang between two trees. Bird will come and sit one side. Immediately what will happen? Because of the weight, it will turn. Because it turns, naturally bird will be hanging upside down. It will be holding the stick and hanging upside down. The poor bird can never understand, if it lets go, it can just fly. It thinks if I relax, I may fall and I may break my head. I may die, I may suffer. It will be just hanging, hanging for hours. And slowly the hunter will come, catch the bird and put it in the cage. Just like that bird which can’t understand if it lets go, it can just fly, escape. Same way we can’t understand intellectually, if we relax from our mind, we can become Paramahamsas, we can fly. We can just fly if we relax from the mind. See, just like how the bird feels that stick is the security, the stick is the security. It doesn’t feel if it relaxes, it can fly. It thinks, ‘No, no, no, if I relax I may fall and break the head and die.’ Have you ever heard bird falling and dying!

Please understand, the bird does not have…the foolish bird doesn’t have the courage to relax and let go. Same way, we don’t have courage to relax from our mind. We strongly believe….actually if you make your boss understand that you are important for the whole scene, if you are not there in the scene, the whole thing will be collapsed, you can exploit him. Once he is convinced, you can do whatever you want. Same way, your mind has convinced you. The whole scene. Now your mind says, unless I am there, you can’t handle the scene. You are convinced that your mind is an important factor, your mind is basic need. Then you are bound.

Please understand, you feel mind is a security. I tell you, just like how the bird feels the mind is a security and keeps hanging, the bird feels the stick is a security and keeps hanging. The hunter comes slowly and takes away even from the stick. Same way, whatever you feel as security, you continuously hang. And Yama, the death will come and take us away even from that.

Please understand, relax from it. You will never fall, you will never disturb yourself, you will never break your head, you will just fly. You will become Paramahamsas. You will experience new inner space. Actually, the bird which was caught like that but which had the courage, somehow, maybe by accident or some reason, it relaxed and it understood it has not fallen, it has flown, that bird is coming and now telling you, relax. That bird is coming and telling you now, relax. I have not fallen. I have not broken my head. I have only become Paramahamsa. So relax. You will only become Paramahamsa.

These are the few words I wanted to share with you. Now I will answer your questions. At the end of the session, we will take 5 minutes to sit with this technique, to internalize this technique.

Q: After an accident, I still don’t have the confidence to ride a bike. A: How many years have you traveld on the road from your birth? But only one incident happened.

If you have the courage to suppress that thought, you are fearless. If you don’t have the courage to suppress that thought, you are affected with fear. The exact incident cannot be managed. But the inner space can be managed. I tell you, when you actually manage the inner space, even the incidents start changing. It is esoteric. You may or may not believe that part. That is different. But even in your day to day life, if you can manage your inner space, why not? It is a fact. See, everybody has that thought…tell me who doesn’t have the thought? When you get into a vehicle, when you sit in a car or you sit in the two-wheeler…one thought, it will always come…one thought about accident or these kinds of incidents…See: fearlessness is not absence of fear. It is the courage to handle the fear. There is no such thing as absence of fear. Fear is a basic instinct. As long as you breathe, you will have fear. If you want to be fearless, only one place – cemetery! There you have nothing to lose. Only there you can be fearless. As long as you have something to lose the fear is a part of it. So fearlessness does not mean absence of fear. You are all striving to have that space of absence of fear. No! It is simply impossible - which is not there. There is nobody who has the inner space where the fear is absent. No. Fearlessness means the courage to handle the fear, that’s all. Not absence of fear. Just remember this one statement.

You said that we project ourselves as to the outer world and as something else to the inner world. One is an overestimation of ourselves and the other is an underestimation of ourselves. Is there a via media where we know what we are?

If you want a via media, decide that for the next days, I will be in confusion about myself. Have the courage. I will not believe what I present to the outer world. I will not believe what I am believing as me in the inner world. I will be in confusion. It is ok. See, we don’t have courage to face that confusion. We want to hang on to something constantly. I tell you, just 10 days: not even 11 days. Just 10 days. Decide courageously. It will be little depressing and it will be a little shaking. Its ok. 10 days I will waste on that. Let us see. 03.09. 11th day I will not believe in swami, I will believe in what I want only. 10 days try to be in confusion. Suddenly you will see: you will settle down in a kind of an inner space, where you will not be bothered about the ahankar that you are projecting or the mamakar which you are believing. Going through this confusion is what I call tapas. People are afraid of that 10 days. People are afraid of that tapas. That is why they want some two ideas about themselves. You are not courageous enough to go through that confusion. If you just decide today: I will not believe what I am projecting to the outer world as me. And I will not believe what I am believing as me in the inner world. I will not act based on these two ideas. 10 days my life will be in confusion. It is ok. I will not talk anything…talk those ideas…I will not do anything from those ideas. I will not move my body out of that two identities. Just for 10 days decide. It may be a little shaky. Your day to day may be disturbed for 10 days. It is ok. I say it is ok. It is worth it. You will see a kind of a courage. Sometimes people may completely feel connected and settled with that confusion. They will not even be bothered that they are confused. That courage is what I call *** 4.39. Again and again Raman says beautifully ask, ‘Who am I ?’ ‘Who am I?’ ‘Who am I?’ You may tell as a mantra. We start chanting ‘Who am I ?’ ‘Who am I?’ ‘Who am I?’ It is not a question, it is a quest. For 10 days decide. I will not act on the identity which I show to the outer world or the identity that I show to the inner world as me. I will not speak, I will not act, I will not do anything based on that identity. My relationships may have little problem. My work will have little suffering. My daily routine will have little disturbance. Its ok. Just 10 days. Decide. Suddenly you will see a sudden understanding happening about you. A different clarity raising about you. I will not be able to verbalise that because you have to go through that. See, I know what I am, but I cant tell you what you are. Just have the courage for 10 days. That is what I say tapas. See all I can do is I can initiate you into tapas. I can give you little confidence., courage to do tapas. I cant give you the truth. It cant be taught but it can be learnt.

Throughout the Mahabharath Krishna is silent. It is always others who are doing some nonsense. Even in the battlefield also. You mean to say that in the day to day management, we should be like that.

Two things: Your understanding about Krishna I am not able to understand or I don’t feel that is correct. Even if you have understood or what you have said about Krishna is the truth, I cant say imitate Krishna, no! I am not saying either. See, I should be responsible for whatever I am talking because I believe and I trust that you are going to believe whatever you are talking. So naturally I should be responsible. I can say only these words very strongly. Practice this technique. Try to relax into the choicelessness what I am explaining… you will experience Krishna’s inner space. This only I can say courageously. I don’t have courage to tell what you understood about Krishna is right. Or even if it is right, I don’t have the courage to tell you please practice that.

Mostly he played tricks only…

I don’t want to use the words tricks. I can say, when you are established in dharma, you may not follow what others or what society calls as dharma. You will have such a spontaneous decision. I tell you it is out of pure sacrifice and love. I cant experience more love and sacrifice in anybody else’s life than Krishna. Everything is sacrifice. He is able to sacrifice his identity and come and sit as a charioteer. Please understand: SO, if you are gaining something out of the whole drama, whole scene, we can say it is a trick. So I am not able to use the word trick. I can only use the word established in dharma. And he played the whole game spontaneously. It is a pure love. And a pure sacrifice. See we never understood Krishna in that way. We understood Krishna from a vested angle. See, whatever the moment they landed….they saw: these coolies cannot have strong respect for their culture and tradition. First abuse that. That is why ras leela was abused. Do you know the historical fact? Whole ras leela happened within the age of 10. Krishna was not even 10. By 10 he left Brindavan. Means what? It was a puppy love! Kids playing with each other. But how he is misrepresented and how he is abused. Understand! Just 10 years kids and pure romance. Pure romance means just kids growing out of their….just when the body gets mature, what response they feel with each other, without any imaginations or fantasies added to their being. Pure romance! But how we understand ras leela? How we understand Krishna? It is nothing to do with pure romance. Totally distorted figure. Same way, the word trick or the word Krishna is a politician, and all those things is an idea put in our head. It is a pure sacrifice. Whole thing is a sacrifice. It was pure dharma. He was established in that pure dharmic consciousness. SO I am not able to attest your understanding about Krishna. And even if it is right, I wont prescribe imitating. I can only say these few words very strongly. One thing: whatever I am telling, ‘please add this technique to your life.’ Just try for 10 days. You will see only the new opening in your way…’ For all these words I am responsible. You can practice and I am available any time. You can catch me! And I know it is getting recorded. For all these words I am responsible. But I cant be responsible or I cant tell your understanding about Krishna is right or wrong or imitate that.

From my personal experience, regarding courage, I see that those who are smoking or those who are taking liquor seem to be stronger than those who are having liquor or those who are leading a simple life.

I am not promoting vegetarianism now. I am neither funded by any breweries or any alcohol. In my humble opinion, these vegetarianism, alcohol…all these things don’t have direct relationship with your courage and all those things. With your courage or confidence or management skills and all those things. They don’t have direct relationship. See, two kinds of leaders are there: people who have achieved the status and people who have achieved the state. There are so many people who have achieved the status but what he did? They have not achieved the state of leadership. They are not having the leadership consciousness. They don’t radiate the real consciousness. Here what I am teaching is leader consciousness. When you achieve the leader consciousness, automatically you will see non-veg drops. You don’t drop non-veg, non-veg drops you. alcohol drops you. So these kinds of leaders are there. But there are other kind of leaders who have achieved the status but they may not have the state of the leader. They may not have the inner space of the leader. They will be politicking. Or nobody else is there. Just because of that emptiness, vacuum, they caught the seat. So that kind of leaders may have non veg may express courage may have smoking. You cannot take that as a Wedge. You cannot say, ‘No, no, no, being vegetarian ARE not that courageous that successful or not become that leaders…’ so it is a state and status. See, I do not know the science of how to achieve the status of leader. That you have to ask people who have achieved that way. I can only teach you how to achieve the state of a leader. I tell you one thing: Surely status follows the state. I don’t think after the status state should come. Sometimes, people after they have achieved the status, people when they see the depression, they work for the state. That happens. But it is not compulsion. But I can guarantee you, if the state is achieved, status follows. Because when the non mechanical parts of your brain is awakened, it is in a different way. The most valuable untapped resource of the planet earth is human resource. If the inner consciousness, the inner space is awakened, 13:46, you will do totally different things. And your understanding will be totally different. So when the state is achieved status is inevitable. It has to follow.

Dale Carnegie…

Your very way of living will be different. Your very way of feeling you about you will be different. You may not have read the vedic scriptures with understanding. You may have read with a different language and in a different situation. Real transformation is not others feeling you as different. It is you feeling you as different.

This fearless state you spoke about: being thoughtless is what you are saying? Going deeper into me and feeling that emptiness, the vacuum, that I am nobody,

No no… these words are all assumed. I only used the words going inside and being in the conflict free space. You are adding the words emptiness, vacuum, I am nobody…I am not responsible for all those words. Because those words give a complete negative idea about the whole thing. IT is not vacuum, it is not shoonya, it is poorna. Please understand, it is not shoonya, it is not vacuum, it is fulfillment, is it exuberance, it is overflowing, it is an ecstacy, it is a pure romance. What is say ‘inner space’ is a pure romance without form and name. If it is directed towards one form one name, it is a desire. It is a romance with one person. It will disappear if that shape changes. It is not directed towards one shape, one form. It is a pure romance. Anything you see… you are in a romance mood. Just to sit in this chair, just to touch this mike, just to touch this kerchief… pure romance, fulfillment, poornatva, not shoonya. If you touch that inner space, you will be in pure romance, not these words… emptiness vacuum… all these words don’t give the right meaning. I don’t want to accept those words. And one more thing: I do not want to tell you that you will be fearless and all this things. You will have the fear where needed. For example, when you make the decisions, the fear is also one component for decision making. You will see that the component comes, you will make the decisions and you know how to unclutch from that fear also. Having fear when you need to take the decision is not the problem. Continuing to carry the fear when you don’t need the fear is the problem. Constantly suffering with the fear is the problem. Constantly chasing the fear and enjoying the fear is the problem. In a way we start enjoying that fear; we start chasing that fear. After some time if we don’t have fear or worry we feel lonely. We say, ‘No, no, this is not me…how can this be?’ So we try to catch something. So please understand: I do not want to attest those words. When you touch that inner space, I tell you very clearly, you will see green more greener. Shankara calls it poorna. Buddha calls it shoonya. But I tell you, it is poorna from my experience. I am not saying Buddha is wrong. Maybe Buddha would have used that term because you see when the people are in a negative way, they enjoy negative words so Buddha uses negative words. What words if he uses you will cherish, Buddha uses. What words you will remember continuously…he will start using. I have always seen…how many ever words I may use to describe poorna… the true romance words nobody forgets. It stays with them. So I started expressing that word pure romance. Even the word bhakti people forget. Both are the same but the pure romance word stay with them. When it stays with them, use that word, that’s all.

Swamiji, you mentioned about the unclutching – awakening the non-mechanical parts of the brain. Does it lead to the 360 degree vision you have mentioned in one of your talks?

I can say it is very esoteric. OK, because you have asked, I will answer. It led to 360 degree experience in my system. But it does not mean in your system also the same 360 degree will happen. It may be little more than 360 degrees. Because in my case also, it is not just 360 degrees. Suddenly I started seeing this 360 and this 360 the whole thing! It is like a whole. I don’t have regular word so I used the word 360. So what you understand as 360 may not be exactly reproduced in you if the non-mechanical parts of the brain is awakened. I can only assure one thing: you will be a better manager. You will be a better being than what you are now. There will be a big breakthrough in your consciousness. There will be a very bog opening in your choices. You will have the tremendous freedom. That is what I call Living Enlightenment. The choices you have in front of you will suddenly become double or triple. It will just multiply. You will not only have so many different choices, you will have so many different source of choices. In Sanskrit you have different Vedas… Like that you will have so many different source of choices. These are all the strong after effects of the awakening of the non mechanical parts of the brain. But this 360 degree experience and all is a kind of a poetic description of that experience. The poetic description may not be able exactly reproduced in you, but the scientific expressions will be reproduced in you. This is the scientific effect - aftermath of that awakening. After math of that awakening will be that you will have so many different zones of awakening. You will have tremendous freedom. You will experience pure romance. These are all the sure things that will happen. But this 360 degree experience is more like a poetic expression. It may, may not happen as it is described, as you understand.

Swamiji, if I keep on remembering myself as a noble man, can I not over a period of time internalize that nobility?

That is what I call fake it and make it! In a few places it is successful. Sometimes it takes too much of time, unnecessary time. And when you are acting, when you are faking it, that creates suffering. It continues to be inside you: oh I am faking, I am faking, I am faking…To avoid that only I am saying unclutch. In some places fake it, ok. But unclutching is a straight method. You can fake it deeper than that.

I am a marketing manager managing resources – people, vendors, suppliers. But there is one person who I am not able to manage. That is my mother at home.

Mother cannot be brought into management principles. It is a relationship. The problem is, we are not ready to remove the coat when we enter the house! That is the problem. No! Remove the coat at home. It is a relationship. There is no question of management! The very word management doesn’t have the space in the mother-son relationship. See Krishna’s life: The Geeta Krishna and the Radha Krishna. Geeta Krishna is a Manager. Radha Krishna is a pure lover. That is what I call dharma. He is established in dharma. He is neither trying to romance with Arjuna and tell ‘Oh, all your kith and kin…’ See Arjuna is telling, ‘svajana, svajana, svajana…’ - ‘my people, my people, my people….’ Three times he is using these words.

In the first chapter, Arjuna vishada yoga, he is using the word svajana three times. Krishna says, ‘No! kill them.’ But when Krishna was living with the gopis, see the romance! Geeta Krishna and Radha Krishna. Totally two different beings! As a Radha Krishna, it is pure love. That is the dharma. Ass a Geeta Krishna, strong management. So you are trying to become a Radha Krishna in the Geeta Krishna place and a Geeta Krishna in the Radha Krishna place! So you have to be very clear where you need to play the role of Geeta Krishna and where you need to play the role of Radha Krishna! Relax.

I have read about Patanjali Yoga. It is about the high state of mind. Particularly in this world when we are moving around people, it teaches us how to keep the mind happy all the time. I am trying to practice it.

First thing, Patanjali Yoga does not promote right mental setup. He is not teaching positive thinking. The first line of yoga sutra is:

Yogaha chitta vriddhi nirodaha

Yoga is cessation of the mind

Means…he is promoting mindless consciousness – the space beyond mind. He is not promoting right mind. Promoting right mind is Dale Carnegie’s work not Patanjali’s work. So relax from what you read.

Any understanding that you have about yourself is wrong… any understanding… less that you being god. Suddenly you will see, you are acting out of the free inner space. You are acting out of choicelessness. Acting out of choicelessness is what I call Living Enlightenment. Any idea you have about you may be wrong. So just question, question, question. You will see suddenly you will become comfortable within you without having any solid idea about you. And you will radiate that fluid feeling. Radiating that fluid feeling is what I call energy. More and more you get solid, the more and more you get stressful. More solid you become, more heavy you become, more stressful you become. The more and more you are liquid, you will be radiating spontaneity. See one thing: Any decision you make.. per day you make 10 decisions. If you are trying to impress 10 people, talking, promoting to 10 people, three it will agree the moment you say. Three will agree if you convince. Three will never agree. Always you will be stressed with the threee people who did not agree! And you will reduce your self confidence. You will be constantly fighting with those last three people in the inner space. The first three and second three you will forget. The first three completely you will forget. Second three, rarely you will remember. The third three, constantly you will constantly be carrying with you and reducing your confidence level. I tell you: unclutch. Suddenly you will see, you will start working with those six people and you will forget these three people. And you know now, the whole world is open. Because in the 600 million, the 66% is yours. In 600 crores, 66% is yours. This is what I call blue ocean strategy. There is a big blue ocean waiting in front of you unexplored. Why are you just fighting with these three people? And the moment you carry these three people in your inner space, you are lost. So just relax. You will become Paramahamsa.

Out of the three people, one is the wife!

No! First is you, second is the wife. Third is the joint, the alliance between the two!

Whenever you find time, try to relax into the silent inner space by unclutching. Let me describe the technique…

Any thought comes, whether it brings negative feeling or positive feeling or any feeling, any thought comes, just remember only one thing: Let me unclutch. After two three seconds, this ‘let me unclutch’ will become one more thought. Unclutch from that idea also. Please understand: when you continuously remember ‘let me unclutch’, it will not be any more words, it will become like a feeling. Just sitting with that feeling. But that feeling will become words if you forget the feeling. You will be fighting between the word unclutch and the feeling of unclutching. Unclutch from that! It is like relaxing into that limitless continuum. That is what I call nirvikalpa. You might say, ‘No, no, no. If you tell us to remember something, we will remember. If you tell us to hold on to something, we can hold. But you are telling us to just drop into the ocean. Understand: holding onto something, your mind will be alive. You will never enter into nirvikalpa. You will never settle down into that inner space. I am not asking you to hold on to something. I am asking you to relax into that limitless continuum. Relaxing into that limitless continuum is what I call Enlightened Management. Manage enlightenment. Enlightenment will manage you. You might be thinking, how such a simple thing can help. How this can do such a big job in my life. Please understand, the key is very simple. Small key. But when you use, you know how big doors are opened. I can only give courage and confidence from my experience. It works and I am responsible for what I am speaking and expressing.

Just sit. You will see some thoughts will be coming.
