Today one important thing - Chittirai Brahmotsavam – the celebration of Meenakshi’s coronation and marriage. From today, the Brahmotsavam is starting in Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam Bidadi ashram also. Exactly at the same time, we will be having the flag hoisting ceremony today, just like in the Meenakshi temple. With this we inaugurate the Meenakshi’s Chittirai Brahmotsavam. From today, Meenakshi’s power will be radiating everywhere. Last year, exactly at this time, Meenakshi’s power expressed as materialization all over the world. This time Meenakshi is expressing the great power of Akashic readings. Today, as the mark of beginning of Devi’s Brahmotsavam, kumkum will materialize in all the temples, especially in San Jose Madurai, and all our centers will feel, experience Meenakshi’s presence.

Blessings to all the participants who did LBP in San Jose and in Tiruvannamalai.

Questions & Answers

1. Pranam to Guruji. In one of your satsang, I have heard from you that wearing Rudraksh is good. There are various types of Rudraksh available – One-mukhi, 5-mukhi, 11-mukhi etc. - which is good? I am single for life and want to have health, wealth, basic relationship with family without any attachment and rise highest in spirituality. Which Rudraksh Mala is to be worn, or should it be a mix of different types of Rudraksh? Should Rudraksh mala touch the heart, or it should be neck length, touching the throat? With gratitude at your feet, Gyan Raipuria - No.20

To tell you honestly, I can give you only generalized answer here – wear Gauri Shankar on the throat and 5-mukhi on the Ananda Gandha – just below the heart centre. This is generalized instruction. If you want specifically, ask me in energy darshan. I will see your energy and guide you. That is the only way I will be able to guide you for your own customized purpose.

2. Nithyanandam! Is Buddhism spreading fast compared to Vedic culture, and widely accepted in world spiritual area because - 1. It doesn’t have caste system? 2. Devotional movement (Bhakti Iyakkam) diluted the density of Hinduism? 3. Buddhism has more universality (Ulaga Podhu Nanmai)? For future and better prospects of Hinduism, what are elements in Hinduism that need to be changed, what should be eliminated? What needs to be supported and nurtured? If you are allowed / get a chance to run all Hindu Mutts, what actions / steps will you take to revive them? - Mani K.R - No. 78

Mani, first thing – what Hinduism needs is sincerity, nothing else. You are asking three questions. 1. Buddhism does not have caste system. No, that is not true. Thailand Buddhists don’t sit with Vietnam Buddhists. They never sit with Myanmar Buddhists. Myanmar Buddhists never sit with Srilankan Buddhists. Tibetan Buddhists don’t revere each other. So caste system is not a reason. Second - has the devotional movement diluted the density of Hinduism? No. Buddhism has enough of devotion and devotional moments. 3. Does Buddhism have more universality? No. Buddhism is baby of Hinduism. Buddhism does not have anything extra which Hinduism does not have. Only thing Hinduism needs is little backbone! Little backbone to stand up. Where are the Hindus? You are not Hindus. All you fellows are capitalists. You are all degraded, destroyed, capitalistic half-westerners. Even westerners are understanding the necessity for spiritual depth. You are completely confused. That is the right word I will use. First thing Hinduism needs is inspiration and sincerity in what you stand for. Inspiration and sincerity. Trust these great truths are useful to us and useful to the world. See, in Buddhism, youngsters are continuously encouraged, inspired, excited to become monks and radiate their energy to spread Buddhism. In Hinduism, how much I have to fight to make one person be on the path of sannyas! Inspire one person, then their family. The whole society is against Hinduism. Even in my Ashram, when I am training people I see - in Hindu sampradaya, the moment somebody becomes depressed, immediately he or she runs away. Because the whole society is waiting for them to come back. I tell you, my whole sangha is kept alive against the current of the mainstream. It is not along the current of mainstream. See, for the energy and experience I am sharing, if I was born and brought up as a Buddhist, by now I will be sitting with maybe one lakh Buddhist sannyasis! Because the whole infrastructure is available. Whole society supports it. But here, it is so unfortunate that whole society is against the current of Hindu tradition and sannyas tradition. So actually what we need is sincerity, and presenting the Hindu tradition to the world, which is directly useful to the world. In the name of ‘secret’, we destroyed everything. Buddhist medicine came out of Hindu medicine, out of the siddha tradition. Bodhidharma is a Shiva sampradayi who was inspired by Buddhism and started teaching Buddhism. So only one thing Hindus need - sincerity. Just sincerity, nothing else but sincerity.

You are asking, for future and better prospects of Hinduism, what are elements in Hinduism that need to be changed, what should be eliminated? What needs to be changed is - bring sincere working patterns into the minds of Hindus. Change the laziness and boredom pattern. Just stop being lazy bums, that’s all. Nothing else. Hinduism is soaked in laziness and boredom. In Tibet, even an ordinary villager, a driver, has his counting beats. When he stops for restroom or smoke or cup of tea, even those moments they don’t waste. I see their beads or prayer wheels are rolling even when they are drinking cup of tea. Just continuously the chanting goes on. You will never see that in Bharatn village drivers. If they stop for a smoke, first thing they will see is – is there any woman under the tree! The largest number of drivers are there in Namakkal district in Tamil Nadu. And largest number of AIDS is also in Namakkal district only - because of the lorry drivers there. First thing they look for when they stop to cool themselves is any woman under the tree. I have travelled on the roads of China and Tibet, and on the roads of Tamilnadu. I can see the stark difference in China and Namakkal. It is not that there are no women in Tibet, and it is not that there are no prayer wheels in Namakkal! Just the sincerity needs to be added, and the laziness and boredom should be avoided.

Next - If you are allowed / get a chance to run all Hindu Mutts, what all actions / steps will you take to revive them? I can answer for this question only by my whole life! I don’t think I can answer in one session. First, teach them the habit of signing MOU with other mutts and temples for exchanging the social and spiritual ideas. Some mutts may be successful in keeping the old tradition alive. Some mutts maybe successful in running schools and colleges, in reaching out the spiritual techniques and meditations to people. Some organization may be successful in creating beautiful temple and spiritual centres. First thing I will do is, organize a meeting with all of them, and share the best practices with other organizations. Exchange of social and spiritual information and knowledge. Instead of all of us wasting time in reinventing the same thing, exchange what we have and make everybody rich. Second, with lot of respect I will make them to understand, we don’t need to steal from others. There are 6 billion people waiting. Reach out to them with energy and spiritual depth. Hindus do not need violence or terrorism to spread. We don’t believe in conversion. Transform people, inspire people. There are 6 billion more waiting to receive transformation and inspiration among us. Don’t fight amongst yourselves. I will share with them, teach them the blue ocean strategy. There is a vast blue ocean. We don’t need fight on the banks. Get into the ocean, blue ocean is waiting for us.

Third thing I will do - infuse lot of money in media. Train the youngsters who are highly inspired, excited, respectful for Hindu teachings, philosophies and principles. And stop showing Swamis with saffron cloth as jokers - whether it is Bollywood, Tollywood, Goliwood, Sandalwood. All these fellows have wood brain! I will train youngsters and make them part of mainstream Bharat. And I will make these religious leaders regularly involve themselves in the socio-political issues, constantly expressing their ideas, their guidance. I will encourage them to create training centres for each of their tradition. I will also tell them, do not dilute your tradition. How strong you are going to be in your tradition, only that much you are going to be in your tradition. Hinduism is not a monopolized religion. We are not branded and franchised all over the world! So strengthen each tradition. Don’t change that. Let all of us stand as a strong pillar for the tradition from which we evolved. That is the way we will be big support and strength for this huge Vedic tradition. So I will not generalize them. I won’t make them same. I will request them to be unique. Retaining your uniqueness is the strength. By retaining your uniqueness you will be a great strength.

I will also encourage them to travel all over the world, continuously inspiring people all over the world and educating them properly about the Hindu tradition. Above all, I will encourage each one of them to establish Sannyas training center. Whatever I am doing, I will share this methodology with them and inspire them, encourage them, support them, to do everything in their own tradition.

I wanted to do 4 things – 1. Training center for sanyasis, monks and nuns - which I am already doing, Second - training center for priests to conduct the rituals required in personal lives of people, like naamakarana, annaprashna – the different ceremonies you need to go through in different phases of life. Third - preachers to teach and transform people - not to convert them – to bring richness in their consciousness. Fourth - activists who constantly go around, record their opinions, concepts, and even their protests wherever needed, in all socio-political issues which is affecting the Hindu lifestyle. In this country, there are still so many socio-political decisions which is affecting our beliefs, where our lifestyle gets taken away - and nobody questions. So many scientific methods through carbon dating has proved that the Rama Setu is man-made and built in Rama’s period. Even then, Central Govt. is not ready to declare that as national heritage. I tell you, Rama Setu is worthy to be national heritage. I will create activists who will go around recording their opinions, suggestions, views, on all socio-political issues which affects our lifestyle and beliefs.

I only need one thing - human beings with spine, who will stand up, who are ready for little bit of sacrifice. From the time immemorial till the time of Vivekananda, this is the same thing all Hindu leaders are asking from Hindus. I want people with strength, physical and mental strength, to stand up for this great Vedic civilization.

3. Swamiji, I heard that under your guidance, the whole group performed the last rites of our dear departed ones in Kailash. Does this mean that you have given them liberation? Can you speak something on this? - Anuradha, New Delhi, Bharat

Please understand, if a priest performs last rites of the departed ones, he sends strong vibrations, mantras, to the departed ones. When an enlightened being performs last rites, he directly liberates them. If a priest sits and chants the mantras, he prays, let him be liberated. For example, if he is doing it for your grandmother or grandfather who has departed, he is just praying, let them be liberated. It is a prayer. When an incarnation chants the mantra, it is an order. Directly, your elders who have departed are liberated. They become enlightened. Especially in a place like Kailash, it is icing on the cake! In a place like Kailash, when these last rites are done, it is ultimate liberty. Directly they achieve the Sayujya, being one with Shiva’s world. So perform last rites for your near and dear ones in Kailash. I think, last time I performed last rites even for people who came to Kailash! Because after this, anytime, anywhere you die, nobody needs to do last rites. It is like it is in the bank. You just need to go to the bank and say, here I am! - and you will just be liberated.

I can see very clearly, this Chokkanathar and Sundareshwar are radiating through this body. God! Yesterday San Jose received vibhooti - it appeared on Swami’s paaduka yesterday. And today, this morning, vibhooti and kumkum materialized on Meru. In San Jose the Brahmotsavam has started!
