“The problem is, we don’t teach the youth the reasons why one should be…”
The problem is, we don’t teach the youth the reasons why one should be disciplined and moral. We should teach them about stable family, life style, dharma, good, bad etc. Instead, we throw all the reasons out and force a set of rules on them. So they fall into depression and resort to addiction, suicide or terrorist activities. The solution is, to tell them the clear reasons, why they should be disciplined. Today, we completely disrespect the stable family concept of one husband to one wife. IF there is no spirituality infused into youth, there will be no sense of responsibility to take on marriage with seriousness. They will indulge only in puppy love. Second, they won’t be able to take life’s pressures which is why they develop things like exam fears. The stable family concept is enough. If we teach this to youth, they will then think before making the decision on marriage. They will wait till 25 to make it. Then there will be no terrorism, no depression, no puppy love, they will study when they have to study and wait till 25 to take the decision on marriage. So highlight this stable family concept. All caste and religion based problems are created by youth from unstable families. They don’t have the responsibility of a child, of a wife, so they take the knife! Man’s basic instinct is to show himself as a hero. In ancient years, man built temples or institutions to project himself as a hero. Today he wields the knife and becomes a hero. People don’t feel they need to contribute anything to society. Many day to day problems will disappear if the stable family concept is taught. Any religious fanaticism if you see, it will comprise people from unstable families. Catch the first 25 people in it and check, they will be from unstable families! There is no point in blaming the government. Stable family is the only way out. It is our very culture. This is a major societal problem for which the only solution is stable family. Women’s liberation means not opposing everything that men do like saying, ‘They are smoking, so we will also smoke, they are drinking, we will also drink… ’ but becoming intelligent with self esteem. The problem is, we have wrong models and wring presentations today. Secularism means, taking the good from all religions and living it. But we disregard everything in all religions! So conveniently, we don’t have to bother about anything! The problem is, we don’t have trust amongst us. Earlier, in villages, Hindus, Muslims and Christians were not enemies. I did the pad yatra recently in villages. The reason is, I am sensing enemity even in villages. I was brought up here in this village. Every day in the morning, we used to get up and see each other as good friends, go to each others houses etc. At least in the city, leave it, but in the villages, let us be together day to day. It is good for society. For the past 5 to 6 years, at the village level, there is so much hatred. There is no need for so much distrust. Take the small religious leaders in villages and teach them stable family concept. Will a guy from a stable family bomb himself and die? Stable family concept is good for the country. So cinema, journalism…. Take this and promote it. Indian marriages are the oldest institutions. The word mangalyam is used even by Christians. We didn’t show stable family concept as heroism. We showed it as olden day concept. There is too much fantasy today amongst youth. They take the ear from one person eye from one person… girls have fantasy about the guy being a software engineer etc…Premarriage fantasies. Watching television is not wrong but making it a part of your life is what is wrong. The one who spreads information is the one who guides the people. Tamilnadu will disappear if this continues. When you are with your family, with your mom and dad, you cant drink, smoke etc…you can do but you cant completely derail. Grandparents will keep the grandchildren going, the grandchildren will keep the grandparents out of depression. Reason for no depth in trust amongst men is unstable family. All religions are sacred sentiments. They are pure and divine. Puranas are sacred sentiments. But we don’t just follow our own and keep quiet we oppose others’ religions, that is the problem. We should become agents for our own religion and also not oppose others religions.
