“# Brahmacharya – a definition…”
# Brahmacharya – a definition…
Brahmacharya means the courage that conquers destiny. It is a beautiful word!
Brahma means 'like Existence', 'like God', 'like the state of Existence'. Charya means 'living'. Brahmacharya means living like Existence. Functioning like how Existence functions! The process of achieving brahmacharya is the greatest alchemy in one’s life.
Your consciousness is deepened by the actions that you do, and your actions reveal your consciousness. It is a cycle! As you move into the deeper, subtler layers of consciousness, a state will flower where you live in the same plane as Existence. That state is what our **rishis call brahmacharya* – living like Existence.
After a child is born, if he moves beautifully - step by step in consciousness - towards the very source from which he came, and starts living in that very space, the inner changes that happen in the child at that time - is what we call brahmacharya! Brahmacharya is the clarity that flowers in the child during that process.
The seeker’s dilemma
Today, there is a big confusion among people whether to marry or not. Especially amongst spiritual seekers, there is confusion whether to follow samsar (married life) or sannyas. The only solution to this problem is to study one’s own bio memory deeply. Bio memory means our prarabdha karma. Karma refers to our past unfulfilled actions which pull us again and again to fulfill them. Until all our karmas are put to rest by fulfilling them, we continue to take birth. That is the law of karma. Prarabdha karma refers to a portion of our total karmas using which we have designed our body in this particular birth. Every birth we design our body using a portion of our karmas, and that portion we call our prarabdha karma for that birth. We need to exhaust the prarabdha karma properly during that particular birth.
After taking birth, you live the prarabdha karmas with the help of your individual consciousness. The battle will be between your individual consciousness and your prarabdha. If your individual consciousness is more powerful than your prarabdha that you brought and came, that is if your consciousness can win over your prarabdha, then brahmacharya is the heavenly path for you! But if your prarabdha is stronger than your individual consciousness, then even if you try to keep your mind steady, it will not work. Your prarabdha will simply stand up and say, ‘Hey keep quiet, I am here…what are you trying to do?’ So if the strength of the prarabdha is more than your individual consciousness, then samsar – married life - is the only solution.
How to get the clarity?
In the vedic times, children grew up with enlightened masters who guided them in choosing their path in life.
Nithyananda, living enlightened master of this millennium has devised many techniques and methods that offer clarity in this area. Nithyananda’s worldwide ashrams are spiritual laboratories which give one the opportunity to explore the paths of life like in the vedic times and take the right decisions and move towards Living Enlightenment, whatever may be the chosen path.
