“Alright, this story I’ll tell now.”

Live notesUntitled · opening words shown
The Satsang

Alright, this story I’ll tell now. I started the story then, these fellows have disturbed completely everything. This Sundara story is such a disturbing story actually beginning itself everything stops. This guy is a great singer and a great devotee of Shiva. I’m thinking where to start, because that fellow has done so many lilas, it is difficult to.

What is time? 7:45. Oh! God. What to do, it’s become already 7:45 now. Anyhow, I have now good reason to postpone the story. It will take one hour if I tell that whole story. So maybe, today evening I’ll tell that story. Doctor you can remind me, I’ll tell that story today evening I’ll tell that story, Sundara story, his name is Sundara, means handsome guy, that’s the meaning. I’ll tell the story today evening.

Oh! There are some more questions.

17. Who is Elina? 18.

Alright I’ll give you the thread, one more thread. She has lost the yagnyanobhavita, anyhow. Eh, get one more thread, yagnyanobhavita . Alright, I’ll give today evening for everybody, who ever lost whatever come, I’ll give everything.

Here is a beautiful suggestion from Doctor. Oh! Actually before starting the food to chant the bhajan mantra, the bhojan mantra. We actually, we do chant in the ashram, even in the LA ashram, even in the Teacher training we do chant, here only, I don’t know these fellows don’t do that. Today onwards they’ll do it. Usually they do, I think for last 2-3 days if they keep the food that’s enough, they’ve come to such a mood, they’re desperate. If the food comes that’s enough, God and all those things. Actually, if you don’t feel too much hungry and if there’s lot of food, then all the God and everything will come up. You’ll remember Rama, Krishna, Govinda, Brahma arpanam brahma vir, everything will come up. You’ll say the grace, you’ll remember God, everything. Here, food is only not there. The moment food comes what comes to memory, nothing, grab the plate. That is why these last 2-3 days these guys have forgotten. All Brahma arpanam, brahma vir everything, otherwise usually they do chant. Actually, we do chant Brahma arpanam only and Nithyanandam Paramasukhadam, both we chant. No actually at the time of food itself, we used to chant. These 2-3 days these guys are so desperate for food itself where is the question of God.

I’ve seen these Ashrams and Muths, they’ll be chanting the Bhagvad Gita, the whole 15th. Chapter at the time of serving. I’ve seen these monks, they’ll not sit in the pandal, they’ll take the food and they’ll go away to the side and they’ll finish eating by the time the chanting is done. They’ll take the food, by the time the chanting is done, they’ll finish the food and wash the hand and go away. And these guys who are sitting in the line, they’ll be sitting and waiting, when they’ll finish the chanting. And they’ll chant the whole 15th chapter. There is something like 25 shlokas or 20 shlokas, I don’t know. 20 Shlokas.

Oordham chandan (15th. chapter shloka) (Pls. enter the shloka for me.)

It’ll go on and on and on. Of course, by now I know by heart because only if you chant they’ll give you food, otherwise no food. Anybody who wants food has to know these mantras by heart. Alright.

So, now we should also make it compulsory, unless you chant Brahma arpanam no food, then these fellows will chant, otherwise. In the Vedantic monastries they used to chant, Brahma Satyam, Jagat Mithya, Brahma Satyam, Jagat Mithya

means Brahman alone is reality, the world is maya, illusion. They have to chant that 108 times, all the sadhus have to chant.

Brahma Satyam, Jagat Mithya, Brahma Satyam, Jagat Mithya

After 2-3 days chanting, one Sadhu came and said Kawer pore, after eating you talk all these things, first give the food. Brahma Satyam, Jagat Mithya after eating, not before; give the food first. So we can do one thing, we can chant Brahma arpanam after the food, you are new revolutionary.

I think it is too much of sun for everybody, for me they’ve put umbrella, but for all of you what to do? It’s ok, it’s ok Swami. But it is good you’ll also feel little fresh, otherwise too much cold. Yes, yes, you can take bath in Gangotri, but it’ll be too freezy. It’ll be too cold, but we can take bath, no problem. Even though I’m not saying you should not take bath, you can go and take bath, no problem, but it’ll be too cold, will you be able to handle, that’s why. Just directly ice is melting and coming here. See, here you can see Ganga is going towards North and coming back to south, this turn is only, we call it Kasi. You can see it going there towards north and coming back towards south now. Because of that turn only it is called as a Kasi. It’s supposed to be coming like this, like this only, but suddenly it goes there and comes back, because of this hill, that’s why it became Kasi. Here she’s called Bhagirathi, Swami, here she’s called Bhagirathi? No from Gangotri she’s called Bhagirathi. From Gangotri itself, the Bhagirathi name comes. Bhagi rathi – Bhagiratha’s daughter; Bhagirathi.

That’s all. All the papers

There’s one more thing, Doctor said yesterday we’ll put the Jai, I forgot. At least today before leaving we’ll put the Jai before leaving; at least today we’ll put the Jai for Ganga.

Q. Swamiji, what is the meaning of Hanuman following the sun?

Oh! Actually, Swamiji it is a metaphysical thing, it is a metaphysical thing. The Hanuman was supposed to be the expression of Shiva, Swamiji, Shiva. And two, three things Swamiji , first the energy of Yadakala, means knowledge, Sun. The energy of pingala, devotion is the moon, and the enlightenment is third eye, aagni. In the incarnation of Hanuman, when Shiva took the incarnation of Hanuman, he swallowed the Surya. He expressed only devotion, he expressed only devotion and enlightenment. He did not express the dimension of knowledge, that’s why theSurya is not there in Hanuman’s life. Hanuman is the incarnation of Shiva but without the, only the devotion and enlightenment. So Hanuman is special incarnation for devotion. That’s why there is no Surya. And he showed the power also.

Question? (Inaudible)

That is business secret, Swamiji.

Which portions are pending, Ramanathan from the biography? Oh,oh so complete Himalayas is missing. Quite a few instances, childhood instances not there, but Himalayas totally not there.

Oh, the question, other half, I’ve not answered at all, doctor remembers everything. I’ve not answered half of the question, na.

Actually, to tell you honestly, sitting with this Ganges I don’t feel like talking, that is why I’m somehow postponing this and that. It’s such a beautiful ambience, umm. Tell the Bhagiratha katha, Swamiji. Alright.

Everything is coming, all of them are coming and standing here (throat). Swamiji, what is that Krishna married sixteen thousand, But not sixteen thousand Swamiji, that is too much, not that many, Swamiji. Maybe that is a proof that he is enlightened. If He can manage sixteen thousand, He must have been enlightened. Without enlightenment He couldn’t have managed sixteen thousand. Practically, in village of Tamil Nadu the number of villages is sixteen thousand. And one per village I think, that’s also must be a metaphysical number Swamiji, I don’t think sixteen thousand. What would have happened to that guy.

Q. What is a practical number, according to your estimate?

I was not in his bedroom, Swamiji, to calculate and measure all these things. What to do? Maybe, whoever considered Him as his beloved, sixteen thousand, Swamiji, not whom He considered as beloved. Maybe whoever considered Krishna as beloved must be sixteen thousand, sixteen thousand disciples. That must be, that is the only practical, understandable answer, Swamiji. Otherwise, sixteen thousand simply He must have created two three cities just to manage and I don’t think that would have been possible.

Question – inaudible!

You want to see him. You can talk to him and ask Him, only He can decide, I can’t do it.

I am sitting in the shadow so I’m comfortably sitting and talking, you fellows are all sitting in the sun. We are all quite ok Swami. Only two- three voice are coming here ok. Not ok. Alright, then now I have to start Bolo Ganga mayiya ki, Jai.

Yesterday I was talking about this Guru- Disciple relationship, how it gets matured, step by step from the, based on the intellect means the pure doubting. In that zone never the relationship happens: like an onlooker, but if you allow that curiosity to settle down, then it becomes little intelligent, like I neither believe nor disbelieve. It’s ok let us see, the witnessing mood, let us see. And then slowly, if you allow that also to settle down then it becomes like an intelligent and emotion means like a sixty percent intelligent and forty percent emotion. You feel like a friend, Oh! Good friend. He must be a, he can be a good friend for me, He can guide me little bit here and there, where ever I need. It’s like, I know how my life will be, should be, where ever I need I can take his help to chisel little bit. And He doesn’t have to teach everything to me but whatever I need, I can take it from him. That attitude, like a friend, that’s what we call, Sakha bhava, means the friendly attitude.

After that, by and by, slowly, when you go through some serious problem like a depression, low mood, in those moods when you are not able to help yourself by His words, you ask Him, your teachings are great but at this moment I’m not able to follow it how to help myself. Then He supports you mentally, psychologically, when you stand up then the gratitude becomes little more. Then it becomes instead of intelligent emotion, it becomes emotion-intelligence means sixty percent emotion and forty percent intelligence. If two three times this repeats, that you fall in some low mood condition where you can’t stand up by yourself or His teachings, you need not only the stick, His hand also. If you are having only the stick, then the friendliness, friendly attitude, the intelligent-emotion, sixty-forty and if you take the help of his hand also, if He gives His hand also, not only His stick, His hand also and lifts you, then slowly it becomes like an emotion-intelligence means sixty percent of emotion and forty percent of intelligence. Then slowly, slowly this attitude is what I call feeling like a father or Mother. From friend, it becomes like a Father or Mother. Oh! Then slowly, slowly the trust develops, you settle down. Oh! He’s not just a friend, He’s not just a person who gives me suggestions and ideas. He takes me out of the problems also. He takes me out of the problems also. Then the attitude of Father and Mother, that’s what.

Then, slowly, slowly slowly again and again when you are helped, again and again when you are helped for every inch, every movement you are helped beyond your expectation, then it becomes pure emotional. That is the moment you feel like a, directly like a Lord and the servant. How the Aanjaneya and Rama felt. How Aanjaneya felt towards Rama. Completely devoted. Completely devoted, not just not even just a father or mother or all those things, completely devoted, a deep connection, pure emotional, we call it Dasa bhava. We call that as a Dasa bhava.

Then by and by after these emotional levels when you grow, little more, deeper and deeper then you start seeing you don’t even need a separate life from Him. Till the intellect, intelligence, intelligence-emotion, emotion-intelligence; these four levels, till these four grades your life is separate and His life is separate. You just take help from Him for your life, to enrich your life but after the emotional attitude becomes ripened, you start feeling; there is no separate life exists for me, except Him. Except Him there is no separate life exists for me. Then slowly, from that you start moving towards from emotional to being level. In that only you feel, instead of asking attention from Him, taking help from Him, you start feeling like you supporting Him. You giving your love to Him, you giving your attention to Him. You giving your emotion to Him, you feel like sacrificing that’s what I call Madhura bhava. How the Radha felt towards the Krishna. You feel like sacrificing, you feel like taking care of Him, you feel like you should take care of Him, you should attend Him, you should shower yourself on Him. That’s what we call Madhura bhava. The deep, the emotional and being level attitude.

After that when it becomes much more when it becomes intense, when the madhura bhava becomes intense suddenly you experience there is no He and you, there is no two different beings, there is no two different levels – it is just one. You and Him both one and the same. Tattwamasi, we call that as a That art thou, you experience the ultimate. In Ramakrishna’s life you can see this whole thing step by step happening. Whole thing happening step by step. And beautiful, expressing the ultimate enlightenment. There’s a one more beautiful example can be given, from the level one, two, three, four – how we grow towards the enlightenment. I think the sun has become too much, what is time? Eight ten. Alright, we’ll speak about that …. Eh! Alright, but its become too much for all of you, na. No, no,no way. No, I have no problem. Alright.

In the initial level, usually, you are constantly questioning questioning, questioning, never allowing the answer inside. Then slowly the number of questions reduces. When somebody else questions, you enjoy the questioning. You will not directly question when somebody else questions, you’ll enjoy the questioning, after sometime you’ll not even bother about who’s questioning you will only enjoy the answers. After sometime you don’t even need answers, just His presence is enough. After sometime, you don’t even need His presence even absence is O .K. after sometime you neither bother about presence or absence, just His being is O.k. you know Him. He was in your life, His memory is in your life. Just knowing about Him is more than enough you’ll be in ecstasy, you feel so fulfilled that I know Him. I’ve experienced Him in my life, that’s enough. So these are the step-by-step, step-by-step you start experiencing and growing in the Master- Disciple relationship.

Question (inaudible)!

Anywhere it can happen.

Q. Will the Master know?

Master will know surely, even disciple also knows. Even disciple doesn’t know means then what kind of enlightenment is this?

Q. How to know whether you are enlightened or not?

You will neither have a doubt, I’m enlightened or not nor have pride I’m enlightened both will not be there, then you can be sure you are enlightened. You neither have a doubt nor have the pride. As and now, don’t bother so much about enlightenment and all just try to enrich your life that’s more then enough. That’ll take care of everything.

Alright, today we will start the subject. I was speaking about these divine experiences and spiritual experiences. Let me give introduction to Arunachala that is where the biography has to start. I can say Arunachala is just like Himalayas. In Himalayas it is spread to a larger area, in Arunachala it is more concentrated on a smaller area. It’s an intense energy field. What to say. Somebody is telling, God Bless you, thank you for your blessings. (Tamil)…… Alright, before entering into the subject let us all do a small meditation only that I think can help to awaken the energy and allow the things to flow. Lets meditate with this Ganges, with this Himalayas and with this whole existence. Lets include everything into our being. Lets become this Ganges and Himalayas. Please close your eyes. I’ll guide you step by step. Pls. cover your face, so that the sun will not disturb your meditation. Please be seated very comfortably in a relaxed way.

Tamil soleru Ma……..

Meditation technique:

Please close your eyes, sit straight. Sit in a very relaxed way, let you be completely comfortable. Let your body be completely relaxed. For a few minutes, few moments remember your body, remember your boundary, feel your skin, feel your body from toe to head. Visualize you are slowly expanding and this whole group is sitting inside you, this whole group is sitting inside you. Feel you are expanded, this whole terrace is inside you, including this umbrella, Swami, the mike system, everything is inside you, just visualize everything is inside you.

Expand and feel this Ganga is flowing inside you, this Himalaya is inside you. Just expand and feel all these buildings, this bridge, this Ganga everything is inside you, everything is flowing inside you. Expand and feel this whole Himalayas is inside you, Himalayas is sitting inside you, expand and feel Himalayas is inside your being. This Ganges, these buildings, Himalayas, this bridge everything is inside you. Everything is happening inside you.

Feel even the sun is shinning inside you. The whole sky is inside you. Relax, in the same in the same space, just be in that same consciousness.

Aham Brahmasi! Aham Brahmasi! Aham Brahmasi!

Om Shanti, shanti, shantihi! Relax! You can open your eyes.

It’s time you go for your breakfast only then the evening schedule will start with the birth. Evening surely, we’ll start with the birth.

Tamil….

Alright we’ll start from the Arunachala. Why the Arunachala is chosen this time. You see in South Bharat there are paancha bhuta sthalas, means the five temples, the five special energy centers for five elements. There are five important elements like the earth, water, fire, air and space. There are paancha bhuta sthalas, five energy centers.

For earth is Kaancheepuram, for water is Trichi, Trivanikawal, for the fire is Arunachala, and for the air is Kaalashti, and for space is Chidambaram. These are the five elements, energy centers in South Bharat. In these five if you analyze, two are with form and two are formless. Water and earth is form, air and space is formless. If you are just caught in form, nothing can be done; your life has no use. If you are directly formless, than how to go to the formless? Ideal is formlessness but where you exist is form. Fire is the bridge between the form to formlessness. Anything any form you put into the fire will make it as a formless. You can see if you put anything in the fire with form, what will happen it’ll become formless. Fire, fire is the bridge from form to formlessness. This two with form if it is offered into the fire that’ll become formless. Fire is the bridge between form to formlessness. Agni, Arunachala is a bridge this time to lead human beings from form to formlessness. Arunachala agni is the energy, that is the guiding source, Master energy to lead people from form to formlessness. That’s the reason Arunachala is the place for Masters to happen. That’s the reason Arunachala is chosen. Now we have started, we’ll continue the journey.

Bolo Arunachaleshwar Mahadev Ki….. Jai Bolo Ganga Mata Ki ……Jai Bolo Jamuna Mata Ki …..Jai Bolo BadriVishal Ki…….Jai Bolo Kedarnath Ki……..Jai Bolo Bharat Mata Ki…..Jai Bolo Anandeshwar Mahadev Ki …..Jai Bolo Sadguru Maharaj Ki…..Jai
