Ananda Lahiri
- This book is the Akashic records of Ananda Lahiri directly read by THE SPH BHAGAVAN NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM, in the language which the modern world understands.
Purpose of Life: Accessing Super-Consciousness
- The purpose of life is to have conscious access to the Superconscious happening in you right now — you may call it Paramashiva, God, the Universe, Consciousness, whatever name you use. This text has been revealed as a crucial guide for each of you to have conscious access to that Superconscious happening. This is enough to make you enlightened, to make you manifest Paramashiva in you.
- The methodologies available in Sanatana Hindu Dharma to have conscious access to the Super-conscious happening are called shastras (scriptures) — collected and made available to us as the Vedas, Agama, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita and Brahma Sutra. This book carries the revelations and methodologies from Ananda Lahiri.
Scriptural Foundations: Vedas, Agamas, Upanishads
- Upanishads are like pure science; Agamas are applied science. The Upanishads explain to you the glory; the Agamas give you the exact Science. It is like this — the Upanishads define the greatness of the city of Varanasi; the Agamas are like the GPS to enter into Varanasi and enjoy it.
- The word "Upanishad" comes from the Sanskrit verb 'sad' (to sit) with the prepositions 'upa' (near) and 'ni' (down) — it means 'Sitting at the Feet of the Master' and absorbing the Ultimate Truths.
- There are as many as 112 Upanishads available today. We follow the Shuddha Vedic tradition — the Shuddha Vedic Sampradaya — accepting the Muktikopanishad's definition of the 108 Upanishads, given by Bhagavan Sri Rama Chandra to Hanuman. The major Upanishads are Ishavasya, Kena, Katha, Prashna, Mundaka, Mandukya, Taittiriya, Aitareya, Shvetashvatara, Chandogya and Brihadaranyaka. The teachings of the Upanishads, together with the Bhagavad Gita, form the basis of Vedanta philosophy.

Role of Enlightened Beings and Incarnations
- Those who mastered these sciences and achieved conscious access to the Super-conscious happening are the aptas, great rishis, sages, mahatmas, enlightened beings. The beings who manifested from Paramashiva, who came down to give conscious access to the Super-conscious happening in all beings, are called incarnations.
Revival of Ancient Sciences by THE SPH
- THE SPH started the revival of the Vedantic Truths at the age of 3, exploring them with His Gurus — Isakki Swamigal and Mataji Vibhutananda Puri. Today THE SPH has revived all of these hidden enlightening truths and made them a practical science for all of us to experience this conscious access to the Superconscious happening.
- This book is the Ultimate commentary on Ananda Lahiri — a direct declaration from the Cosmos, reiterating its authenticity and authority to the modern human. THE SPH's approach is based on His own experience (atma pramana), making these ancient Truths practical and accessible for contemporary living.
How This Book Is Set
- Each chapter carries the verse itself, the revelations of THE SPH upon it, and three kinds of interlude — a core cognition, a story, and a joke — each set in its own distinct form so the reader always knows what is before them. Sanskrit words appear in italics and are defined in the Glossary. These elements, and the order in which they come, are described in full in "How to Read This Book".
- The Sanskrit words in this book are given in transliteration with diacritical marks; a full guide to pronouncing them — the Sanskrit Pronunciation Guide — is placed just before the Glossary at the end of this book.
- This book is your gateway to understanding the Ultimate Revelations of Ananda Lahiri — a cornerstone of cosmology and Self-realization.
- It is more than just a philosophical text; it is a practical guide to aligning your life with the divine.
The Elements of a Chapter
- Every chapter opens on a verse page carrying the verse in three registers, each named as it appears: (Sanskrit Sutra), the verse in its original Devanagari; (Transliteration), the same sounds in Roman letters so it may be read aloud; and (Translation by The SPH), the rendering in His own cognition.
- (Revelations by The SPH) marks the commentary itself — the body of the chapter, unfolded as short sub-sections of bullet points.
- Three kinds of interlude are set apart from the commentary, each in its own form, so you always know what you are reading:
- Core cognition — set in italics beside a double rule: the single insight the verse turns upon, stated in one breath.
- Story — a tinted panel headed "Story": a Puranic episode, a teaching-parable, or an incident from the life of THE SPH, told for its own sake.
- Joke — an open dashed frame headed "Joke": a moment of laughter, which in this tradition is itself a doorway; do not read past it.
- Closing each chapter you may find Key Terms, Illustrations, From His Life, and Practice, followed by Satsang References — QR codes opening the original satsang the chapter drew from, each labelled with the section it backs.
- Placed at intervals through the book are pages titled Nithyananda Truth, carrying the documented record of the persecution of THE SPH. They stand apart from the commentary and may be read in their own time.

The Law of Translation: A Conscious Engagement
- A literal translation of Sanskrit — even by the most skilled linguist — can only ever be a shadow of the original intent. THE SPH's "Law of Translation" makes translation a conscious engagement with the Rishi's core message, operating on three principles: (1) first purge all negative, limiting or conditional words from your own thinking; (2) for each ten-word sutra, consider ALL possible translations of every word; (3) hold all those meanings simultaneously — not to choose one, but to build a multi-layered understanding.
- The goal is not to find the "correct" translation, but to see the Truth directly through the multitude of perspectives — to authentically cognize the Rishi's intention.
- The Supreme Mother bhavāni (the Divine Mother) is the ultimate cosmic consciousness who rules, energizes, and governs the tribhuvana (the three worlds).
- True cosmic administration requires mapping the paramaśivajñāna (supreme knowledge of Paramashiva) into the dharmaśāstra (scriptures of cosmic law) to establish absolute order.
- One cannot fully realize the Divine Mother through the mere accumulation of objective scriptural knowledge, as She is sakalanigamāgocaraguṇe (beyond the reach of objective scriptures).
- Expressing multidimensional spiritual experiences through dualistic human language inevitably compresses, reduces, and limits the ultimate truth.
- The sacred veda (scriptures of knowledge) and āgama (revealed scriptures), though infallible, are ultimately pointers that cannot fully contain Her infinite, boundless attributes.
- Mother gaurī (the golden goddess) represents pure, unembodied, and self-effulgent consciousness that exists far beyond the gross, subtle, and causal bodies.
- To safely anchor the descent of gaṅgā (the sacred cosmic river) on Earth, one must establish a solid, unshakable foundation of consciousness like himarāja (the Mountain King).
- The ultimate reality of the guru (spiritual preceptor) is the compassionate, nurturing, and protective embodiment of the Divine Mother.
This book exists as a sacred bridge between the ancient, eternal truths of the Vedic tradition and the modern seeker yearning for authentic, lived experience. The Ananda Lahiri of Adi Shankara is a brilliant, glowing transmission of the highest spiritual states, yet its deepest secrets often remain locked behind the veil of intellectual analysis. This commentary is birthed from the deep, loving space of SPH Nithyananda Paramashivam’s pure consciousness, offered to the world to unlock those secrets and make the living presence of the Divine Mother intensely tangible to all.
It was composed not as an academic exercise, but as a living transmission of Paramashiva Jnana—the ultimate cosmic knowledge. When you read these pages, you are not merely consuming information; you are entering into a sacred sanctuary of initiation. The words here are infused with the very vibration of the Guru, designed to bypass the analytical mind and strike directly at the core of your being.
To receive the full blessing of this work, approach it with a deeply devotional and open heart. Do not read it merely to accumulate scriptural knowledge, which only breeds intellectual pride and anxiety. Instead, read it as a meditation. Sit quietly, breathe deeply, and allow the SPH’s voice to wash over you like the sacred waters of the Ganga descending from the heavens. Let each verse be an invitation to drop your limitations, your doubts, and your three-dimensional conditioning. As you journey through this commentary, allow yourself to be undone by the sweet, overwhelming grace of Mother Gauri. Approach this book as a holy dialogue between your soul and the Cosmos, and let the wave of ultimate bliss carry you back to your true source.
Listen! I am revealing to you the ultimate truth encoded in the sacred verses of the Ananda Lahiri.
When Adi Shankara poured forth these verses from the depths of his enlightened samadhi, he was not merely composing poetry. He was mapping the absolute, multidimensional reality of the Cosmos into sound syllables. Ananda Lahiri—the Wave of Bliss—is the direct experience of Parashakti, the Supreme Mother Bhavani, who is the ultimate Cosmic Consciousness. She is the supreme energy that runs the three worlds, the tribhuvanas. Understand, Her administration of the cosmos is perfect, just as Meenakshi ruled the Pandya kingdom by mapping the highest spiritual truths, the Paramashiva Jnana, into the cosmic law of the Dharmashastras.
The central theme of this sacred text is the transition from objective, dry intellectual understanding to the sweet, subjective experience of the Divine. For too long, humanity has been trapped in the illusion that accumulating vast scriptural knowledge is enough to reach the ultimate. I tell you, even the Vedas and Agamas, though they are the supreme, infallible authority revealed directly from the five faces of Paramashiva, cannot fully contain Her infinite attributes. She is sakalanigamāgocaraguṇe—entirely beyond the reach of all objective scriptural knowledge. The moment you attempt to capture Her in mere words, you compress a vibrant, four-dimensional cosmic experience into a flat, two-dimensional picture. If you only gather superficial information, you will only generate anxiety, doubts, and mental clutter.
This commentary exists to break that pattern. It is an initiation into the cosmic geometry of compassionate grace. We begin our journey by establishing the foundation: recognizing the unfathomable glory of Bhavani as the ultimate source of existence and the very form of the Guru. We then move into understanding the utter limitations of the human intellect, learning to transcend the boundaries of the gross, subtle, and causal bodies to touch the unembodied, self-effulgent space of Mother Gauri.
To receive this grace, you must cultivate the strength of the Mountain King, Himaraja. Remember, he was the only being solid enough to act as the base upon which the cosmic Ganga could descend to Earth without destroying it. Through this commentary, I am preparing your inner space to become that solid, unshakeable foundation, so you can safely hold the immense, downpouring energy of the Divine Mother.
As you journey through these chapters, you will experience the dissolution of your limited identity. You will move from the outer court of ritual and intellect into the inner sanctum of pure, boundaryless consciousness. This book is a guided descent of cosmic energy into your daily life. It is my invitation to you to stop standing on the shore of existence, looking at the ocean of consciousness through the lens of your doubts. Jump in. Let the wave of Ananda wash away your limitations, and realize your eternal oneness with Paramashiva.
Understand, this is not a journey of learning, but of unlearning. Each chapter is a step deeper into the inner space of Chidambaram—the space of pure consciousness where the Divine Mother and Paramashiva dance in eternal union. We will explore how the cosmic feminine energy perfectly embodies both the nurturing Mother and the ecstatic Beloved, showing us that the ultimate reality is not cold and distant, but warm, intimate, and deeply responsive to your call. Through this commentary, I am handing you the keys to unlock your own inner potential, aligning your individual geometry with the cosmic geometry of the universe. Prepare your heart, open your cognition, and let us begin this ultimate flight into the infinite space of Bhavani.
